Dr Irani is good at performing surgery and once it is done, he is done. Typical surgeon. My complaint is as follows. I have gone thru all the appropriate steps to have my lapband removed and approved for surgery. The FRIDAY, before my Tuesday surgery I learn from Marta, who does the insurance paperwork in his office, that my surgery was denied. She assured me the Office Manager would need to contact the insurance as if maybe there might be a glimpse of hope to still get this uncomfortable lapland out of my body and replaced with better surgery, the sleeve. It is the Monday before surgery and its not going to happen. I have never been so upset and distraught over the handling of my case. The office manager at Irani's office is not dilligent. I feel like his office could care less. NO URGENCY ON THEIR PART WHAT SO EVER!!! Someone dropped the ball big time!!!!! Completely unsympathetic.
I have prepaired for the surgery. Proteins, blenders, portable blenders, vitamins, etc. My husband had to take the week vacation from work for nothing. I am soo disapointed in the staff. I wish I never got the lapband from day 1. This is just a mess now.

had my surgery on 3/8/12... he's a great Dr and wonderful surgeon... so good my wife chose him to do her surgery in the near future... would recommend him if your in the Bakersfield, ca area

The first time I met Dr Garcia he was straight forward. Very informational and made sure I had questions answered. He explained everything thouroghly. I wasn't nervous at all after leaving his office. His office staff was very friendly and extremely help-ful when it came to taking care of disability papers. He is very loud, but patient and funny. He will not move on to his next appointment until he has completed his session with you. I had some complications days following my surgery. I am a Kaiser patient and he's not a Kaiser surgeon. But he insisted on me driving to the hospital my surgery was so he can see me himself. I went to emergency and he placed specific orders for me to have certain tetsts done. He then followed up with me at the hospital when I was admitted. He performed another surgery to remove my gallbladder and was very concerned when he found I developed a blood clot.

There was some miss communication after my surgery. I guess Dr Garcia assumed I knew certain things and I should have asked more questions. Make sure you get your 64 oz. of fluid after surgery weather it's water, vitaminwater, sugarfree kool-aid or whatever. And of cource right from the start drink your protein shakes. Sips at a time, but drink them! I went almost 2 weeks with only ice chips and jello. But mostly because I couldn't keep anything down. I had a bumpy ride and at one point regreted having my surgery. But it was "just bad luck " as a doctor told me. Everything is fine now and Dr Garcia is extremely proud of me! =D

Dr Garcia was awesome! He's very supportive and nice. Great personality and gives LOTS of info about your proceedure. I am very happy with his work.

Great praises for Dr. John Garcia. when I first met Dr. Garcia I was pleasantly surprised to find him to be direct and honest man. He took the time to explain my options, what would take place and make sure what it was that I wanted. Surgery went well and my post-op visit was equally as impressive. He took the time to make sure that all was well with me. His office staff was friendly and professional. I couldn't ask for more.

My first impression of Dr. Irani was that he was a very educated, professional. After I had my surgery, I got to know him in the hospital and after wards. I have found him to be a warm, caring, thoughtful person. He really listens. I'm glad that I have him as my doctor. He anticipates my questions and concerns. He's a 10!!

I had read so much about him online before meeting him I felt good when I did...I think I'm in good hands.

Dr. Garcia was a wonderful surgeon. He always left me with a sense of confidence whenever I went to see him. He was very straigtforward with me about what he required of me and what to expect of the surgery. He had a great bedside manner and I always felt like he was very truthful with me. He always would ask me if I had any questions or concerns and never seemed in a hurry to move on to the other patient. I would highly recommend Dr. Garcia to anyone else seeking a surgeon in Bakersfield area.

DR. IRANI WAS THE BEST I WAS SO SCARED RIGHT BEFORE I WENT INTO THE OR. I HAVE WORKED WITH A WONDERFUL TEAM THERE LIKE FAMILY I NEW I WAS IN THE BEST HANDS EVER
