Bakersfield Surgical Associates Bariatric Center

I attended the Bariatric Class that Dr. Irani and the hospital offer. After meeting the nurse and getting all the information. I'm excited to meet with Dr. Irani in January to get started on the approval of the surgery.
I see Dr. 1/8/03 for the first time. I'm so excited...........1/8/03 I met with Dr. Irani today. He was very nice. Informative and explained everything. I can't wait till my surgery!

When I first met Dr. Irani, I thought he was wonderful. He was very nice, and included my husband in everything we were talking about. His office staff was nice. I liked the fact that he was very honest, and answered all of my questions. It was obvious that aftercare was very important, and that made me feel more comfortable. He made sure that we knew the risks of surgery, and made myself and my husband feel better about the surgery. I haven't had surgery yet, but I will post more after I do!
My surgery is done. Dr. Irani was awesome. He has been available anytime I have had a problem. He's just been a phone call away. I got a slight wound infection, and he has been very reassuring to us that it will be ok. He's a great listener, and has answered all of our questions. He has a wonderful bedside manner. I am so glad he's my surgeon.

My first impression of Dr. Irani is that he is soft spoken. However, I have only had the consult with him. He was GREAT! He explained everything in detail (even what dumping was!) and drew me a picture of what he was going to do! AT this point I dont have anything negative to say! Just waiting on ins approval!
11/22/02 surgery was last week. I saw dr Irani everyday that I was in the hospital. I have a one week appointment with him coming up. He personally removed my drain so I could go home...he was attentive and insterested in what I had to say and/or show him. He was GREAT!! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND HIM A A WLS HERE IN BAKERSFIELD!

my first impression of him was professional and cordial.his office staff were friendly also. I live 7 hours north of the doc so I don't suppose we'll get to know each other well unless I have problems. My internist in my home town is going to follow my care. My first appt. with him is next week.

DR IRANI WAS A WONDERFUL SURGEON. HE RUNS A VERY PROFESSIONAL YET HELPFUL AND FRIENDLY OFFICE. I VISITED HIM TWICE AFTER SURGERY AND WILL NOW FOLLOW UP EVERY FOUR MONTHS. MY AFTER CARE IS MONTHLY WITH A BARIATRIC CARDIOLOGIST NAMED DR. DON-MICHAEL. ALL THE RISK WERE EXPLAINED AND GONE OVER BY NUMEROUS PEOPLE. A VERY HELPFUL PERSON WAS STEPHANIE AT SAN JOAQUIN HOSPITAL THAT IS IN THEIR BARIATRIC DEPARTMENT. SHE KEPT A GOOD EYE ON ME. THE HOSPITAL WAS NEW TO THIS PROCEDURE AND I WAS SERVED THE WRONG TYPES OF FOODS ON SEVERAL OCCASSIONS. NURSES ON THE REGULAR FLOOR WERE A LITTLE SHORT HANDED. BUT OVERALL IT WAS FINE. MY DOCTOR WAS GREAT.

My first impression of Dr. Irani was that he is an extremely competent and respected surgeon in the area. Every time I mentioned his name in the hospitial during my pretesting the response was that I was in very good hands because he is considered the best. After surgery, I have to agree. I am very impressed with his bedside manner. He seems to be genuinely interested in how I am doing and is very patient when answering questions that I have. I am only 3 weeks out but I seem to feel better than other people I know who have had this surgery so I'm confident that he did a fine job. My impression on him just keeps getting better every time I see him. His office staff is friendly but I've had trouble with follow-up with paperwork getting done which delayed my disablity at work. Not once but 3 times. They have yet to return a phone call about this as well. I know they work in a really busy office so I haven't made a big deal about it or mentioned it to Dr. Irani. As far as aftercare goes, Dr. Irani has a few programs set up which I was referred to. I would recommed Dr. Irani based on my experience. He has a wonderfull bedside manner and a reputation of excellence.
