He is very straight forward.His nurse is so nice.They emphasize the importance of aftercare.He sat down for an hour,explaining the risks of the surgery.I would rate him and his staff excellant.His knowledge and bedside manner are both wonderful.
Everything that I read about Dr. Oliphant convinced me to seek him out. I had my first consult with him on 6/16/03. He was extremely nice and wanted to make sure that I knew all of the risks involved with gastric bypass. After he was convinced of my commitment to having the surgery he made sure that I got an appointment with the dietician, which I have on 6/25/03. I haven't met his nurse, Ann yet, but everyone that I did deal with was very pleasant. My appointment was at 2pm and I was in getting weighed at 1:55pm.
I liked Dr. Rowitz very much. My husband went with me to my first appointment with the dr. when they came in to get me, the nurse was going over questions and asked for my insurance info. I gave it to her and told her that I had received approval from the insurance company a couple of months ago. she said they would have to verify but I got scared and thought something was going to happend that the insurance wasn't going to pay, I started crying and then Dr. Rowitz came in. I stopped crying and he talked to the both of us and was very in depth about what could happen and not happen. I liked his professionalism very much especially when I asked him if anyone he operated on had died. He was very truthful with me much more than any other dr. Since my husband has already met him My Mom and I are going to the support group meeting this thursday so she can meet him for herself and talk to him. I think it is a great dr. that can balance his surgical compitence and his bedside manner So far he has shown me both.
I had my first meeting with Dr. Rowitz today. I found him to be very informative and professional. He made sure to cover the pros and cons. He definitely did not "sugar coat" the surgery. He addressed the surgical procedure, the aftercare, changes in diet, "head hunger", and the risks of surgery.
His staff was very pleasant.
3/2/03 I am even more impressed with Dr. Rowitz and his staff after the surgery. Dr. Rowitz is a very caring and super nice person. He and his staff are very friendly and helpful.
The aftercare and suport group are really super. I am so pleased that I chose this surgery and this surgeon!
Dr. Rowitz and his staff was great. He seems to be a very friendly, and caring person. From the first time you walk into the office you see smiling faces. Dr. Rowitz conducts monthly meeting to where you can meet and talk to other who have had, or hope to have bariatric surgery. I would highly reccomend him to anyone.
He is a very caring man and he wants his patients to understand the risks and what to expect. I've heard from others about how wonerful he is.
In my experience thus far, I feel that Dr. Rowitz and his staff are dedicated to the well-being and success of each patient.
Every one has been cordial, helpful, and I believe, honest. All risks were covered in detail, as well as the benefits of the surgery.
His professional demeanor is excellent. Warm, friendly, but no-nonsense, no sugar-coating. I was most encouraged by this.
His website is extremely informative and should be visited by patients and future candidates alike. Be informed! That's your best bet for success. Keep an open mind, and keep the faith.
I truly believe that this is the right choice for me and that I will be successful because I understand what Dr. Rowitz will do surgically, and I understand what I am expected to do afterwards.
To date I have found nothing negative to report.
I personally have not met with Dr Rowitz as of yet for my Pre-Op visit. I have however had contact with him through the care of My sister. He is a very caring and understanding MD. His entire office staff are the same way. He truely seems to understand our journey and will do anything to help my sister and now myself succeed. It is truely a credit to his training and a good asset to have on your side during your care.
DR. O IS A PLEASANT MAN AND THIS IS HIS APPEARANCE. HE'S A TALL MAN A SORT OF PECAN COLOR WITH A LOW HAIR CUT AND TO THE FACE BEARD. HE LOOKS STRONG MINDED LIKE HE IS VERY SURE OF HIMSELF. NO DOUBTS ON HIS MIND.HIS NURSE ANN IS A TALL BLEACHED BLONDE AND AFTER I CALLED HER SO MUCH. DIDN'T MIND TELLING ME NOT TO CALL HER ANYMORE SHE WOULD CALL ME. THEIR OFFICE IS VERY BUSY THEY JUST STARTED DOING WEIGHT LOSS SURGERY HER AT CARLE HOSPITAL LAST OCT. 2001. SO IT IS IN VERY HIGH DEMAND . ROMA THE PATIENT CAS COOR. WAS VERY NICE AND PATIENT I GO IN THE OFFICE SOMETIMES JUST TO WEIGHT AND IT'S ALWAYS OKAY THEY JUST SMILE AND SAY HELLO AND YOU KNOW WHERE THE SCALES ARE.
