Carle Foundation Hospital Bariatric Center

My first impression of Dr. O is that he know what he was talking about he let me ask as many question as i wanted. I still think he is a very good Doctor. The staff also know what they are doing getting your your appointments ASAP. To come with question it show that you have you look stuff up. Dr O tell you all the risks.

He has a very good understanding of what it means to be overweight and how hard it is to lose weight. He seemed to genuinely care for you as a patient and does not treat you like just another payday.rnrnMy impression of him has pretty mush stayed the same from the beginning.rnrnHis staff is very polite and patient when you call them with tons of questions. I did get a little skeptical when they kept getting me confused for lap band when I was scheduled for gastric. But that was my fault because i did originally inquire about lap band. rnrnAnyone in the SC GA area looking around for a surgeon should def. give Dr. Rowitz a call.rnrnHis seminars covered aftercare and risks very thoroughly I have a good understanding of what I am going to go through when my surgery is done.rnrnHe is great at both his bedside manner and surgical competence. He was very adamant about making sure i got checked thoroughly before considering doing the procedure. rnrn

My 3rd call to a bariatric surgeon's office was to Dr. Rowitz' office. I was particularly impressed because the first question they asked me was my NAME. The second question was whether I had any insurance (the other two offices I called asked for whether I had ins or not and did not bother to ask my name). The third question was my height/weight (call me picky, but I still would have preferred being asked my name first, my height/weight, THEN what type of ins, if any, do I have). I do have ins, but that is not the point. Dr. Rowitz' office, so far, seems interested in me the person, and not me the wallet. That was my reason for registering for their seminar and choosing Dr. Rowitz and his team. May seem a small thing to some, but it's not a small thing to me.

My first impression of Dr. Rowitz was that he was caring and understanding. Plus he wanted what was in your best interest. Almost a year later from my initial consultation with him, I still feel the same. Everyone at his office puts the patient first. They are always there if you need them. Dr. Rowitz and staff were completely honest with me in regards to the risks of surgery. I would recommend him to anyone interested in the surgery. He will make you feel very comfortable with your decisions and you wont go in blind folded.

Dr. Oliphant was very warm and inviting when I first met him. Even when I was in the hospital when he made his rounds he treated me like I was his only patient. His office staff is amazing, they are a wonderful support system for the surgery (Before and After!). I would highly recommend Dr. Oliphant to anyone thinking of having this surgery!rnrnIf I had to rate him on a scale from 1 to 10, I'd give him a 20!!!!rn

I really liked Dr. Rowitz and his staff. They done everything possible to prepare me for my surgery. They made sure I had a complete understanding of what I was going to go through with the surgery and as much as possible for what was going to come up after.

Dr. Rowitz is a very warm personal. Reminds me of the perfect big brother. Seems to have a huge heart for his patients. And a good sense of humor. Staff/office atmosphere is very laid back. I felt comfortable with everyone. They really went out of thier way getting all my insurance info together and never seemed aggrievated when I called bugging them about me statis. You definately get the sense that this is not their 1st rodeo!!rnrnDr. Rowitz holds seminairs before you can be considered a canidate. He addressed most very issue you can think of but I was impressed that he also hangs around after the meetings and just chit-chats with you as a person not just potential $$. rnrnI had a great hospital stay at ANMED. Dr. Rowitz girls lined everything up for me and I just had to be there. The hospital was clean and I had a comfortable room with a private bath. Surgery was SMOOTH~~ I really only had minimum pain after surgery. The nurses on the floor were right there to give the pain meds before the pain got out of control. I mostly slept a whole day and night and felt pretty good the next day. rnDr. Rowitz checked on me a few times and encouraged me to stick with the plan. ANd ofcourse he went over that plan for the 20th time just to be sure!rnrnAftercare has been good. Calls from thier dietician have been considerate and very helpful. My first fill was easy.rnrnI would have to say I don't believe I could have received any better care than that I received from this team. Thanks Guys for helping me get a life~ no a great life!!!
