I was very impressed with Dr. Rowitz when I attended his seminar. He appeared very caring and eager to help people with this skills. His office staff is also very caring and treat you well when you are in the office. They also had no problems with any phone calls I made to them and always answered my questions. He was very upfront about the surgery and the importance of my participation in the process. I would give him 100% if I were grading him. He is all around a great surgeon.

Today i finally met with Dr. O . I was really nervous because everyone said he is very buosness like and matter of fact. I was suprised i thought he was great. he laid out all the facts and the risks. He definatly wants you to know this is a forever life style change. he really laid out the truth and the facts.I can tell he is very serious about the risks of the surgery, But he also let me know all the benefits.He wants you to know this is not cosmetic. I thought he was wonderful. He is very busy man and i think he was in a litttle bit of a hurry today but he didnt rush us out. he was great.

My first impression of Dr. Oliphant was that he was very calm and very matter-of-fact. He went over all the risks of the surgery and didn't sugar-coat anything. Since I've been in the hospital, all I've heard is how great he is, and how hard he works. He came in today on Saturday, his day off to check on me, the nurses say he always comes in to check on his gastric bypass surgeries. I would definately recommend him!

I have know Dr. Oliphant for nearly 15 years (not personally, I worked at his hospital) and he has always been extremely friendly and very personable. I have heard nothing but good things about him and his skills. He is head of Trauma surgery at Carle Hospital. rnrnMy first visit with him regarding my surgery went well. I heard from others that he gives you a very grim image about the surgery and is very serious and attempts to scare you with the details of the surgery and life after along with being extremely honest about the mortality rate. I prepared my wife for this so as to not freak her out, but we have become very educated about the procedure and the upcoming lifestyle change that every thing he had to say was redundant to what we already had learned. This was a great feeling, because it reinforced that what I was reading and researching was correct.rnrnHe is very passionate about aftercare and emphasizes that if you are not willing to follow his instructions and do what he says then you should probably move on and either look for another surgeon or not have the surgery. rnrnI appreciate his candor as well as his great personality. DR.oliphant was so good to me he was very friendly and he was very porfessional it was like having a friend that happens to be a doc.

Dr Rowitz is such a caring person. Each time he sees you in his office - he seems as though he is really glad to see you again. I have never felt rushed and his staff is awesome. I would highly recommend him!

Doctor Oliphant has literally saved my life! Not just with the RNY surgery but with his care afterwards. I have had a few complications ... an incarcerated hernia and bad gall bladder, and he also did the surgeries to fix those.rnI would reccomend him in a heartbeat! He really cares for his patients and knows just what to do.rnrnMy very first impression was that he was not only very professional but made sure that any questions that *I* had were answered beyond the information that the hospital provided. I'd done a large amount of research on my own and I still walked away knowing more. He did not downplay the risks at all, he made sure that I knew how seriously they take this surgery that it is ranked as major and right up there with heart surgery.rnrnI really didn't like that he had me sitting up the first night of surgery but you know he was right about it! It did help me begin the healing process and even though I really would rather have just laid in bed I knew that I needed to get up and sit up.rnrnI have friends at the same place I work that have had the same surgery I have, with the same doctor and we have all said the same thing. Even if we had to do it twice to get it right, it would be worth it, and we would never choose another surgeon.

I first heard of Dr. Oliphant through a shopper that came in all the time when I worked at Lane Bryant. It was amazing to watch her transformation and she never had anything bad to say about him. When I mentioned I was looking into WLS with his office, she warned me that I should be serious because he didn't allow you to cheat in his program and he had no interest in cheating patients who were there merely to enhance their physical appearance. He wanted to help people get healthy, period.rnrnThe first time I met him, I knew what she'd told me was true. He explained to me in depth everything that would come before, during and after my surgery. He didn't attempt to intimidate me, but made sure I understood just how serious this tool was going to be. He also drove home just how much it could change my life if I was willing to learn how to eat healthy and utilize the gift he could give me. His office staff was extremely nice. I've dealt with Martha Trenkamp (his nutritionist), Ann Carroll (one of his nurses) and briefly met his P.A. who's name escapes me. Each one was so excited for me and my new healthy future that I couldn't help but be excited too! Ann and Martha both reinforced the need to keep contact with them whether I was struggling with something or simply wanted to share a victory with them. This extended network of supporters just drove home the idea that I made the best choice for me. rnrnI'm sure I'll be able to add more once I've had my surgery, but for now I feel completely confident with Dr. Oliphant and his staff.

Dr. Oliphant is awesome. He came to see me every morning with a smile on his face. He took time to talk to me and made sure I had everything I needed. His skills are beyond wonderful as a surgeon and doctor. His bedside manor is one that will put you at ease on the worst of days. His aftercare program is intense, but it's because he cares and wants you to do well. He doesn't just do surgery and send you off on your own. The structure makes it sucessful!
