I had to switch doctors because of some hospital issues with my first doctor. It was a blessing in disguise. I will give an honest and thorough review including all negative and positive aspects.

Positives: Dr. Ferrari was very warm and friendly and took the time to answer all questions I had. I did not feel rushed. I had to read and initial a very detailed explanation of my procedure - what was being done, what to expect, what was reasonable, etc. It was the most comprehensive information in one reading I had encountered during my journey and explained everything. I had the majority of my homework out of the way, so he did not have to explain too much on the risks, but we did discuss them.

He has an excellent reputation as a skilled surgeon (all of the hospital staff seemed to really like him) and has a great bedside manner - the best of both worlds - so I felt comfortable going into surgery knowing he was in charge.

His office staff is excellent. I never felt like I was bothering them, they were friendly and in my opinion went out of their way to make sure I was informed and comfortable with any doubts I had.

He, his staff, and the hospital ALL emphasized aftercare. I have been going to support groups since last summer getting my questions answered, so I know how important they are. I am switching over to the MHHS/Memorial City group and will start attending my new group next month. I can't wait.

Negatives: None. Okay, they say I am supposed to have some, but I don't. If I ever can think of any, I will update my review, but please don't hold your breath.

I am only sorry I didn't start out my whole journey with him, but this turned out to be a "better late than never" situation.

Dr Ferrari, is great!!! I have already lost 10 pounds since my surgery on June 3, 2010. He has great bedside manners. The hospital was excellent, everyone I came in contact with had a smile & were very careful!!!! I love memorial hermann Gessner Hospital!!! My family was pleased as well!!! Thanks Dr. Ferrari!!!!

Dr. Ferrari was great! He was professional answered all questions. I would gladly recommend him to anyone considering having WLS.The staff was great , the office very nice and clean. He wants to see you 2 weeks, 2 months, 6 months and then a year. Overall he's a kind man who listens to your concerns in the office as well as in the hospital.

Was very up front about the risk of this surgery. What I would need to to make my surgery successful. And that the key thing in this procedure was Me, Myself and I that I couldn't just depend on the band it's self to do the work.

Dr. Ferrari is the GREATEST!!! I am very happy that I chose him to do my procedure. Dr. Ferrari has excellent beside manner and he is easy to talk to. He is very thorough in explaining the various WLS procedures and the risks involved, which allowed me to make the best decision for me. I highy recommend Dr. Ferrari.

My first consultation appointment with Dr. Ferrari was today, 6/10/09.rnrnHe was very nice and his staff was very pleasant too.rnrnI found him to be very personable and easy to talk with. Most importantly, he is a very experienced surgeon. I'm awaiting for my paperwork to be sent in and insurance approval.rnrnI hope I can have my surgery soon!

DR. FERRARI IS A VERY SPECIAL MAN AND I WAS VERY IMPRESSED WITH HIM. HE WORKED VERY HARD GETTING APPROVAL OF A NORMAL WEIGHT PERSON, WHO IS SO AFRAID OF JUST GETING A TAKEDOWN OF HER VBG, SO HE IS DOING A VERTICAL SLEEVE GASTRECTOMY, AS WELL AS THE VBG TAKEDOWN, AND HE CONVINCED THE INSURANCE COMPANY TO APPROVE IT, ON THE FIRST LETTER. I`M VERY GRATEFUL TO GET MY LIFE BACK.rn9-26-06 DR. FERRARI DID MY REVISION TO VERTICAL SLEEVE GASTRESTOMY, AND I`M DOING GREAT. I THANK DR. FERRARI WITH ALL MY HEART, HE IS A GREAT SURGEON AND HUMAN BEING.

Dr. Ferrari is one of the best surgeons out there. He has a VERY positive attitude and is truely concerned about his patients. My husband really liked him. He explained every step for him and that made a world of difference for him!

My first impression of Dr. Ferrari was that he was very confident. He was kind, understanding and not at all freaked out by any question I had or any comment I made. He was calm and self-assured, which is exactly what I like in a doctor. He doesn't go overboard flooding your mind with information, but gives you exactly what you need, which I also appreciated. I didn't want a doctor who was overwhelming. I would have backed out of the surgery. His bedside manner is great as well. He's a man of very few words but again, very nice.rnrnThroughout my surgery and post-op care he has been nothing but wonderful. I would highly recommend him to anyone.
