I had my consultation with Dr. Ferrari on March 15, 2000. Like everyone else has said, he is very nice and very helpful. My mother asked him why he likes doing the surgery and he said because it is very gratifying to him. Gotta love that! He also told us that his own daughter will be having an RNY this year. Two questions that we asked that may be helpful to you are: What is his mortality rate? He told us that out of the 800 patients he's operated on, he's only lost one. And the other question was what was his post-op complication rate? Less than seven percent!

My first impression was excellent. He seemed knowledgeable on the gastric bypass surgery(Roux en y) He also, answered my questions thoroughly without hesitation. He seemed to explain the procedure in common terms so others can understand exactly what the procedure is about and what the risk are. He seems like he is very patient and understanding to his patients. I like him so far. His office staff was remarkable!!! They really do fight and advocate for you. They spoke about the follow-up care and meetings and when I was approved for the surgery they sent me information on the hospital admissions, what to expect. Basically, an entire packet for me to familiarize myself with. They sent in a very quick and timely manner, within two days of my approval. I would rate this office (Neweigh) with a 9-10 for helpfulness, encouragement, and knowledge.

Just met Dr. Ferrari last week...I feel I am in capable hands. He does have a bit of an accent but spoke very slowly and effectively. The office staff at Neweigh was great...I was very impressed.

My first visit with Dr. Ferrari was very positive. He has a
very relaxing manner, interspersed with jokes, which made me
feel very much at ease. He treated me like an adult, and
answered all my questions fully. I did NOT feel rushed. My
husband came with me to the initial appointment and that made me
feel very much at ease, and Dr. Ferrari answered his questions
just as fully. Dr. Ferrari is associated with NeWeigh, in Houston.
My opinion of NeWeigh so far is that they are very helpful and seem
very concerned about me.

Dr. Ferrari and his staff were wonderful.
They always took the time to answer all of my questions and address any concerns.

So far he has not lived up to his reputation i found him very quiet and reserved to the point of not being very informative I have been told that he is different in the hospital setting......his program is through Neweigh of Houston the are wonderful the got my insurance approved in one week.

I met Dr. Ferrari for the first time today (12-15-99). He was a very pleasant man that did not seem rushed or hurried, and took his time answering any and all questions that I had. He went over the options for surgery and suggested that I have the roux en y procedure done. He stated that it had a higher success rate, and was more efficient in getting the pounds off.

I really liked Dr Ferrari, It has not changed. Dr Ferrari staff is very nice and caring. Nice. I just plain liked him. They think that after care is very important. Yes they do but i live out of town and don't attend. Yes he shares the risk with you, 10 both were great

My impression of Dr. Ferrari is very good.I felt comfortable with him right away. He is very soft spoken, always smiling. It has been 8 months since my surgery. I still feel the same about him. His staff is very helpful and friendly. Will answer any question you have, if one doesn't know the answer they will find one who does and get back to you. When we were waiting on the ins. ok, someone always called to keep me updated. As for their after care they have suport groups every week, and really stress this.If you can't attend, they have # of people who have already had surgery who are willing to talk with you. They even have a Christmas Party, they also have trips to enjoy.I would give their support effort A+.As for answers on the risk of surgery , I felt his answers were truthful and sound.I would rate Dr. Ferrari and all that stand by him very good.He has chosen a good group of people to stand by him.At least this is my personal experience if this should differ with someone else I would be surprised.

I met Dr. Ferrari for the first time today. He was wonderful. He's very soft spoken but so friendly, honest and caring. He's very straight forward. Doesn't beat around the bush with. He had a sense of humor also. I just loved him. My husband came in and asked questions and he answered everyone. He included my dh completely.

The office staff at NeWeigh are great. I went there yesterday to fill out all the paper work and talk to the intake counselor and social worker, they were all friendly and most of them have had the surgery which makes it so nice.

He makes you committ to aftercare. I'm glad. You have to sign a paper saying you will commit to at LEAST 4 weeks of aftercare but its ongoing if you want it to be. I think i want it to be for me!!!

If you are in Houston or the area, i recommend the NeWeigh doctors.
