He was very professional. Answered all my questions. Spent considerable time with me. The first person I dealt with was very cold, unfriendly. Melissa in his office is wonderful! She is helpful, kind, responsive.

Dr. Schreiber seems to really care about his patients & wants to give them the opportunity to make their life as healthy, enjoyable & productive as he can. While I was in the hospital & Dr. Schreiber came to check on me twice post-op, I was surprised @ how business-like he was. The office staff is overwhelmed by the amount of patients that are trying to get the surgery done so, it is rather hard to get ahold of them on the phone & takes a little patience while getting your paperwork approved w/the insurance company. Once that is done the process goes a lot quicker. The medical staff is very concerned & very friendly. What I least like about him is when he goes into a business-like mode. Dr. Screiber has the best informational info on the procedure, what to expect & how to care for yourself. It is a very comprehensive & thorough program. The staff goes over the risks of surgery but does everything possible to prevent any. I would definately recommend Dr. Schreiber for this type of procedure. I think his surgical competence is the best.

Dr Schreiber is a no-nonsence,straight talker who gives you all the facts and then lets you decide if you want the surgery. He is not "overly emotional" but to be honest, you don't want your surgeon to be like that.
He always answered all my questions directly,
and although very busy, never "rushed" me.
His staff was courteous, knowledgeable and easy to talk to. The whole program at St.
Vincent's Hospital is comprehensive from start to finish. I work in a hospital that does bariatric surgery but was willing to travel 90minutes to have it done there. From start to finish an A+ organization!!

I have only met Dr Schreiber once, at my initial consultation. I liked his forth-rightness, and that he was up front with everything. He answered all mine and my husband's questions. I have full confidence in him and his staff. All the people that work in his office are like angels. I was sick and tired of nurses and physician assistants who would remind me I was obese, like I didn't know it. But at Dr Schreiber's office, the people are great! Sincerity is the keyword. They treat obesity like a disease, not a weakness. Any future patients should be prepared that Dr Schreiber will not baby you or coddle you. As an adult, you should be ready to face the fact that a healthy weight is obtainable if only a person is willing to work for it. He emphasized that the surgery is not a cure-all, but a beginning, a helping tool for controlling morbid obesity. // Since I wrote this I have already had my surgery. Dr Schreiber was very supportive. He has a good bedside manner and was surprised at my first post-op doctor's office that I was ready to go back to work.

Dr. Sonpal is wonderful. I knew that actually before I saw him for my surgery. I use to work at St. Lukes in the OR and ICU with him. The office staff is great and very busy. My surgery date was first scheduled for August 29 and was moved up to July 14 this past week. I am so excited! Not so excited that it needed to be moved up due to a gallbladder attack. I really enjoy reading all the information on this site and reading what everyone has to say. I kind of find it inspiring!

He was nice and seemed to care about what I was going through. He made me feel quite at ease and I was very happy after speaking with him. He was very short and to the point. He tells you what is what and doesnt suger coat things which I liked. But, I have been on this journey so long that I honestly didnt ask many questions.

He did not address any risks of surgery.

The office staff is a little hard to deal with. They don't seem to want to explain or help you with many questions. It could be that I didnt know which ones to ask.

Very friendly and seemed to really care about me and how I will do with having the surgery. I am looking very forward to it.
