Cleveland Clinic Florida/Bariatric Institute Bariatric Center

dr rosenthal is a great doctor. He is compassionate. His staff is caring and understanding. when i went in for my surgery he made sure i got to say goodbye and kiss my husband before he started the surgery. The staff is well informed and i could not find a better doctor or facility to go to. The hospital staff was great and they took good care of me. right down to a bath with real baby powder for my back.

I MET DR. ROSENTHAL FOR THE FIRST TIME AT THE INFORMATIVE SECTION AT THE HOSPITAL, I LIKED HIM RIGHT AWAY, HE HAS A LOT OF EXPERIENCE WITH THIS TYPE OF PROCEDURE, HE EXPLAINED THE PROS AND CONS OF THIS SURGERY.
I MADE AN APPOINTMENT TO SEE HIM, AND AFTER THE APPOINTMENT I STILL HAD A GOOD FEELING ABOUT HIM. HIS OFFICE STUFF IS ALSO NICE, BUT YOU HAVE TO KEEP ON CALLING TO GET THINGS DONE. HE SAYS THAT AFTERCARE IS A VERY IMPORTANT STEP TO TAKE AFTER THE SURGERY, AND SHOULD BE DONE REGULARLY; IT IS OFFERED BY HIS STUFF.
OVERALL I RATE HIM VERY GOOD, I WILL TELL YOU ABOUT HIS BEDSIDE MANNERS AFTER THE SURGERY.

Dr. Rosenthal, small in stature, is HUGE in his field. He is well trained and is a great teacher to his peers. He is humorous and affectionate and is very willing to answer any questions. He has been expanding his practice and is trying shared medical appointments to meet with many patients at one time. There are now two evening post op meetings per month and several a month during the work day. The nutritionist and psychologist from his team also are available to meet with you in a group or individually. Dr. Rosenthal is such a caring individual with remarkable bed side manners.

In my first consult with Dr. Rosenthal I thought he was very nice. He and his staff have been very efficient and helpful along the way!
He is very mch to the point, everything is laid out for you at your first meeting down to the very last detail. I was very impressed as to the time that is spent on what each insurance company will and won't pay for.
They seem to have eberything down to a science as far as how to get you approved.
He and the staff vey much emphasize an aftercare, and ecercise plays a main part in your everyday life.
Dr. rosenthal again lays all the good and bad out on the table for you at your first meeting, as to the risks of this surgery.
Overall I liked Dr. Rosenthal and all of his staff, they are all very nice and very helpful and caring individuals. My experience thus far has been great.
Anita is wonderful and very helpful as to getting the insurance authorization together. I have emailed her with questions and she has alway gotten right back to me.

Dr. Rosenthal is wonderful. Not only is he an excellent, possibly the best, surgeon, he also is kind, helpful, supportive - I can't say enough. His surgical competence matches his bedside manner and both are super! The day of my surgery, my adult children met him. After he left, they said,
Wow, Mom! You have a great doctor."
His staff is helpful, courteous, & very nice. The program at Cleveland Clinic Weston is extremely structured both pre-op & post-op. You can call or email for help anytime. Everything was explained beginning at the 4 hour orientation right through to a year post-op. Aftercare visits are 2 weeks, 2 months, 6 months, & one year. Blood work is done to make certain you're getting the proper nutrients.
I've seen people on TV saying the orientations they went to with other clinics didn't explain the risks. That certainly was not the case at Cleveland Clinic. We were told the pros & cons of all the types or surgery. We were shown videos of the actual surgery.
Of course I was in pain for a few days. I had one crazy nurse who I thought might kill me if I told her which presidential candidate I wanted to win the election. I didn't like being hooked up to all of the apparatus. But so what? I'm going to be thinner & healthy!

Dr. Szomstein was very nice and to the point. He took the time to answer all my questions and explained all the risks of this surgery. His staff is wonderful very organized and willing to help. Aftercare is something that the staff at CCF emnphasize very much at all times. Right now I would rate Dr. Szomstein a 10.

Dr. Szomstein was great, he spent enough time with me to explain all I needed to know, but come prepared with questions. I can see how I might feel rushed if I wasn't prepared. The orientation I took was helpful, but like everything else once you get home there are many questions that come up. As silly as it sounds take the time to write them down and bring them with you.
His office staff was helpful and professional. They were not trying to sell me on the surgery, and made both the benefits and risks of the surgery clear to me and my family.
