Dr. Adam Naaman, M.D. F.A.C.S. Bariatric Center

First impresion Dr. Naaman is very confident and straight forward. He explained everything very well and was happy to answer questions from myself and my wife.
The staff is very professional and helpful, yet very busy.
Dr. Naaman made sure that I understood the risks envolved yet did not scare me like the first surgeon I saw.
Had pre-op visit today. Dr. Naaman was very kind and answered all of my questions...he is so confident...makes me feel better. 6 more days...

I have contacted the office, submitted all paperwork required up to this point and contacted my insurance (advised this surgery was covered) and now will meet with Dr. Naaman May 9. His office staff is very professional and was very understanding about me faxing 45 pages of unnecessary information (I'm meticulous like that). Theresa (at his office) even reviewed my paperwork over the phone to make sure I had everything to get the process started. I'll post more after my first office visit.

My first impression of my surgeon was that he was an angel!!!!!! My impression of my surgeon has changed a bit. He seems to not be as caring as he was before my surgery. The office staff of Dr. Naamans are Super Sweethearts!!! They are very caring and very knowledgable. They made me feel comfortable. The only thing I don't like about my surgeon now is that his attitude has seemed to change.I don't know if it is just me or not?
I would recommend him as a good surgeon, but he needs some work on his bedside manner!!!!!!
Basicly, the after care is stressed as the difference between success or failure, & maybe even LIFE OR DEATH!!!!! They seem to have a pretty structured aftercare program. He was very upfront about the risk of the surgery, no lies!!! There are many risk but you have to ask your self if this, for you, is worth the risk!!! I am a Christian,& I just prayed for GOD to watch over me!!!!!
On a scale of 1 to 10, I would rate Dr. Naaman about a 7.
His surgical competence seems to be good, but he could work on his attitude and bedside manner a bit!!!!!
These are just my personal impressions of my own personal experience and that I am making no statements about what other people may experience! Nothing ever goes smoothly for me, something always goes wrong but just this one time in my life so far, everything was good. My experience with my Dr.was good & his staff was nothing short of excellent!!!

Because the insurance decided not to use Cy-Fair Hospital anymore, had to find another surgeon. Was delighted to find out Dr. Naaman was on my insurance since I already knew who he was (having worked and volunteered at Memorial City Medical Center). Also, my PCP is familiar with him and his work and felt much better about my having surgery with him on board. Met Dr. Naaman and his staff and am waiting to see my PCP and get a letter from her. Guess it is somewhat in question if the insurance will approve me. UPDATE: Great staff. It has been really nice to use their e-mail service to bounce information back and forth. Have to meet again for a pre-op appt with the doctor. That's good, actually, because the first time he had an emergency, and I'm more prepared now to ask questions.

I haven't gone yet, My 1st appointment is on the 12th of Feb. I am so nervous. I want this to go smoothly. I have called the insurance company they do the surgery for medical necessity, I have my letter of medical necessity. I have all of my records.
Well wish me luck and lots of prayers on the 12th please. Saw my PCP yesterday and got another letter of medical necessity from him. You know the medical community is really coming around about obesity being a disease. I have not talked to one Dr. that is against this. I have been really suprised. Now if we could get the general public to realize the truth. I met with him on 2-12. I really liked him. He explained everything to me even though I went in knowing what surgery I wanted and he knew that I am a nurse. He gave me a book and told me to read it. His staff is excellent. I do not have one bad thing to say about them. When I was on the phone getting my date my voice started cracking. Amanda asked me are you okay? Then I started crying. She listened and I just told her I was so happy. She really seemed to care. All of the staff really seem to care. I think that says alot about Dr Naaman.

Dr. Naaman is straight forward. He answered all my questions. I cannot have a lap because my surgery will be a revision. He stressed the negative risks of surgery and the positive aftercare "change your life" benefits of surgery. His staff is just as great as everyone says they are.I am in the process of gathering my preauthorization information to send my insurance company.
I have a date..5/3. Amanda you're the greatest!

I met Dr. Adam Naaman on March 5, 2002. He was very nice and knowledable. He answered all the questions that my husband and I asked.

When I saw Dr. Naaman , I had a long list of questions, he answered all of them and was very patient regarding all of my concerns. He is very straight forward, but that is how he should be. I am looking for a good surgeon, his bedside manner is not the most important thing to me. He has a warm smile and comes across as being very knowledgeable about what he does. He impressed me with his enthusiasm and willingness to carefully explain the procedure to me. He answers most questions with a yes or a no, but when I asked for more details he was very willing to give them to me. His office staff is very warm, friendly and efficient. They have been great.

Okay, I don't know if the other comments about my doctor are still here, but I will say it again, HE IS THE BEST! I have to say that of course, he will have my life in his hands! Dr. Naaman and his staff have treated me so kindly. I feel like they really care, and the doctor seems to really like his work. He is a wonderful photographer too, his beautiful pictures from around the world are posted around the office. He spoke to me with a smile on his face, appreciated my questions and was not reluctant at all to answer the BIG ONE about whether or not he has lost any patients on the table. His answer NO, and I can only pray that his honest answer was indeed the truth. I have done all the research about him that I think I can do. HE is very firm about 6 weeks liquids ONLY and reassured me that this was in order to minimize any strain on the staple lines during the healing process. Fine by me! He was concerned about me personally, even offered a picture of my spleen after surgery! His staff is great too. Bernice was sooooo patient with me. While trying to get the money together for my deductible, I was in the office dividing it between credit cards and checks. She didn't seem to mind at all. I am so happy with them!<br>
3/20/02----Okay, my surgery is done, I am healing and I will still say my surgeon is the best! He is so meticulous, he spent about 10 minutes reviewing my file while I was waiting to go into the O/R and I really feel like he is an artist and a perfectionist with what he does. He even "reused" some of my old tummy scars, pretty cool!
