Eric Yancy, M.D. Bariatrics Bariatric Center

I have not met with him yet but have email back and forth with him a few occasions. So far his office has been great. As has he!! I will email more as I find out more!! I have a final consult date of Feb 13, 2002. Surgery to follow behind 3 - 6 weeks.

4/02/2002- I AM STILL VERY SORE BUT VERY GRATEFUL TO HAVE HAD SUCH A GREAT TEAM OF DOCTORS. DR. SCHECNER AND DR. ERIC YANCY (SAME PRACTICE)!! IT TURNED OUT THAT I HAD GALL BLADDER DISEASE ON TOP OF EVERYTHING ELSE!!
DURING THE PREP FOR SURGERY BOTH DOCTORS STOPPED IN TO MAKE CERTAIN I WAS DOING FINE..WE HAD A FEW LAUGHS AND THEN DISCUSSED MORE OF WHAT WAS GOING TO TAKE PLACE. THEY TOOK THE TIME TO GO OVER ANY LAST MINUTE QUESTIONS I HAD AND MOST OF ALL MADE ME FEEL COMFORTABLE AND SECURE WITH ALL THAT WAS ABOUT TO HAPPEN.
THEIR BEDSIDE MANNER WAS ABSOLUTELY TERRIFIC!!

MY OPINION OF DR. YANCEY HAS NOT CHANGED - HE IS VERY KIND.

VERY POLITE WHEN YOU ARE FINALLY APPROVED.

DID NOT SPEND ENOUGH TIME WITH HIM.

HE IS VERY EASY TO TALK TO AND WILL ANSWER ALL YOUR QUESTIONS TO THE BEST OF HIS ABILITY.
HE STRESSES HOW OFTEN HE WILL BE THERE TO CHECK UP ON YOU AND HOW WE WILL BE TREATED AND GETTING SUPPORT.

I AM 100% CONFIDENT IN THIS MAN AND I'M READY TO ROCK AND ROLL!

EVERYTHING FITS TOGETHER LIKE FAT MOLECULES-YOU CAN'T HAVE ONE WITHOUT THE OTHER.

Dr.Yancey called me himself to tell me I was approved and to coordinate a surgery date with me.We spoke over the phone. I was only approved yesterday (01/11/02)so I haven't met him in person yet.He sounds very personable.

Dr. Yancy was very straight from the start, told me what to expect ,and what I would have to do. His office staff is very helpful, and supportive. I was pleased with Dr. Yancy and would recomend him to anyone.
He recomended that I find a support group to help me thru my ups and downs. He spelled out all the risks involed with surgery. I rate him with surgical competence but fair in bedside manner.

Dr. Yancy was recommended to me by my PCP. She has him do all of her own personal surgeries and let me know that I could count on Dr. Yancy any time day or night. My first impression of him was just what I expected -- he called me at home in the evening at the request of my PCP to discuss the gastric bypass and answer any questions that I had. His staff and partner are very knowledgable and helpful -- everyone is very friendly! I really can't think of anything that I DIDN'T like about Dr. Yancy, I really can't! This office also has a support group that meets once a week.

Dr Yancy is a outgoing, smart, sensitive surgeon. He tends to all your needs, and makes you feel totally secure with your decisions. He makes you know that you and your feelings and thoughts are the most important.
Dr Yancy's staff is caring, outgoing, and extremely helpful. They are there for you during and after office hours to help you out. There is no question that they cannot answer. No question that is "stupid or unreal".
There is nothing that I really dont like about Dr Yancy or his staff.
For his future patients... You picked a winner. You cant go wrong with him. His aftercare program is the best. They keep up with you and make sure you dont fall off the wagon. There are support groups that meet every week. They are a family there. That is important to a patient like me. To feel like you are part of the family. You know you get the best care.
Dr Yancy is the top gun. I thank him for all he is doing for me to rush me in for this surgery - before my insurance runs out.
Dr Yancy takes the time to listen and talk to you. He is always available at anytime to ease your mind. Can you get any better than that?
after surgery on june 25th.Dr Yancey proved to me why they call him one of the best. Throughout my stay, he visited me everyday, kept track of all of pts., and made sure we were getting the best treatment there. (Ok so the hospital failed not Dr Yancey.).
Dr Yancey made sure that we all remembered that he or his partner are always available 24 - 7. If we had any questions we only had to call the answering service and they would hook us up to a dr asap. No matter what time of day or night it was.
They say you cant say only nice things about a Dr... well they havent met Dr Yancey. I havent found one thing to complain about with either Dr Yancey or his staff. When I do... you will be the first to know.

Dr. Yancy was wonderful. The staff is very knowledgable and supportive. They hold a support group that is invaluable.

Dr. Yancy is wonderful, very kind hearted, compassionate, caring, and comforting. I was very impressed by his bedside manner and his thourough ways of explaining everything to you at your speed, he made sure that YOU understood everything. I would highly recommed him to anyone I know.

I began this with Dr. Schechner in mind to do my surgery. But have decided that I want to go with Dr. Yancy after a friend said how wonderful he is...After the few confverstions I have had with Dr. Yancy I am convinced that I have done the right thing. He is wonderful and very quick about getting things done...if you ever thought about him doing your surgery, DO IT!





The Staff is priceless...I have given Jenny MUCH GRIEF and she is so sweet and understnading for a skinny person...LOL


HE offers 100% free aftercare..this is a plus for me because I am on mediciad and I dont plan to be after I lose this weight and I dont know how long it would take to get another insurance.
