Impressions: My first impression was GREAT. Dr. Landerholm is warm and friendly and is obviously both knowledgeable and genuinely caring. He listened to all of my concerns and took them seriously. He didn't seem at all impatient or in a hurry to get out of there (my first appointment was at 4pm on a Friday, and I had a LOT of questions and concerns!). I still really appreciate his relaxed bedside manner. There's something about a person who is calm and casual that really puts me at ease. One small complaint is that he has seemed much more hurried the last couple of times I've seen him than the first time I met him and even seemed a little distracted during my pre-op. I think he has his PA and NP do a lot of the followup - which is fine because he has a really good staff. I really like their PA.

Aftercare: PSSC has a two year aftercare program included in the self-pay price. I'm not gonna lie, it ain't cheap, but I think it's worth it for 2 years of support - especially nutrition. They work with a really excellent nutritionist and sessions with their exercise physiologist are also included in this price. I've had really good experiences with both.

I see the little statement below that "100% positive reviews are generally less informative and even suspect"...but I honestly don't have anything negative to say! I have great respect for Dr. Landerholm's surgical skills - my surgery (made extra complicated by my very high bmi) was uneventful and I'm feeling great two weeks out. No complaints!

My first impression of Dr. Landerholm is that he is one of the greatest doctors I have ever met. He has a very positive attitude and makes you feel very comfortable. He has a great surgical competence and bedside manner. I was well information about the positives and negatives of the surgery. The office staff is great they have been there every step of the way. If I have a problem or question they do everything in there power to get it solved. I would very strongly suggest to anyone considering having weight loss surgery to go to Dr. Landerholm. You will get the greatest experiences of your life. rnrnrn

I met Dr Landerholm on July 2, 2008. I was very nervous meeting him for the first time, worried that he would be one of those Doctors that would just tell me things were just fine and send me home. I was very surprised when he was very open and friendly. We went over all the different options I had. Wow to have a Dr that actually listens to you. After knowing that the Lap Band would be best for me, i began my journey. Not only was my weight an issue (260lbs) but I had a really bad case of GERD that I've had for about 8 years. It got so bad that I would wake up literally drowning in stomach acid. I was getting afraid for my life. rnrnDr Landerholm was always there when I had questions. His staff was always very supportive and positive. I had my Lap Band surgery on December 12, 2008. Dr Landerholm had discovered that I had a bad Hiatal Hernia. So he patched that up while he was in there. The first week after surgery was the hardest. I had problems with being very lethargic and was on an emotional roller coaster. During my first week check up with Dr Landerholm, he reassured me that things were doing great and that things would get better. The second week, things got a lot better and things just kept getting better. The best part is, I have no more heart burn. Just for that alone, I would do this again. rnrnI had my first fill on January 13, 2009. I have a fear of needles and had a panic attack. His nurses were so patient with me and so kind, they helped me through it. They took their time and reassured me though the whole procedure. What wonderful people! rnrnI truly believe that Dr Landerholm saved my life. I thank my lucky stars I found such a wonderful Dr who truly cares for people.rnrn-Amberrn

My first impression was very comforting. We discussed our Faith in Christ which made me very comfortable to be in his care.rnHe went through alot of trouble to rearrange his schedule and get me in sooner than his next available surgery appt since I was canceled with Valley Medical Center the day before my preop appt.rnMy surgery is scheduled for Oct 1, 2008.rn

So far I like him a lot. I like the way he thinks and that he listens to me. What I like the most is that he doesn't babytalk me or sugar coat the truth in our consults. Yep, so far I like him a lot.

My surgeon is GREAT! I still get to usually see him on a monthly basis while @ my fills, if he does not do them himself. He is VERY personable and my husband and I took a liking to him from the first meeting we had. His office gals are great!!. I go to the Bellingham office, as it is closest to my home, and I was able to have my surgery done in Bellingham as well, and that made for a short and smooth transition home following my procedure. Puget Sound Surgical Center offers GREAT after care, and both they and their nutritionists insure that all is well and we are nutritionally sound.rnrnThe risks of surgery were addressed, and I knew them full well, but I particularly liked when he said that of the many surgeries he performs, he likes the Lap Band the best, because not only is it a walk in the park for him to perform, but it is one that he KNOWS will change lives for the better, and that is very rewarding for him. rnrnSurgical competence is certainly something I looked for, but bedside manner is very important, too, since I knew he and I would be working together, and his staff, too, to insure my success. rnrnMy husband was impressed and one of the first things he told me upon waking in recovery was that Dr Landerholm took pictures, and gave them to him. Pretty neat to see the liver, and one with my band firmly in place.

Dr. Landerholm is extremely personable. The office is experiencing growing pains so my phone calls were not returned by the office staff and processing my items through insurance was frequently dropped.rnrnHowever, with persistance from me, everything got done eventually. The person at the front desk was \"adament\" that the office manager got my requests because they were handed to him, but when I finally got through, he had no idea who I was or what I was talking about.rnrnDr. Landers assisted Dr. Landerholm with the surgery. Dr. Landers is the one that has the extensive experience with the sleeve.rnrnAftercare is extremely important at the Puget Sound Surgical Clinic. I'm not overly impressed with the nutritionist. I felt like she just read me the pamplet she was giving me pre-op. But this could be due to working with some awesome Nutritionists in the past.rnrnThe dr.s were worried it woudl turn into an open proceedure and contstantly emphasized the risks so I knew what I was getting into.rnrnAdd to the issue that the surgery coordinator went on vacation and I ended up being \"processed\" by someone who had no experience and didn't listen to the answers she just got to her question. rnrnAll of these red flags would have made me run to a different dr. if I hadn't met the dr. already and knew from Jenn her experiences with the dr. rnrnBecause they are so good, it causes growing pains. Ultimately, they were the ones to go with though.
