Dr Fegelman is a no BS sort of fellow. He doesn't coddle you, but is very up front about why you are seeing him and what your options are. He took the time to answer every question I had without making me feel rushed or embarrassed for asking things. He never talked down to me, but treated me with respect. His staff is wonderful and do everything they can to guide you thru the decision making process, the education about the different procedures, the insurance and payment necessities, and one on one, as well as, group discussions about the procedures and how to use this tool once you are approved for it. The surgeon and staff makes sure you understand the risks associated with the procedure and their aftercare program is great. Group sessions, nutritional sessions, meetings with the nurse practitioner to make sure you stay on track and to help you reach your goals. This is an A + group all around.rnrnDr Fegelman is not a hold your hand kind of doc, but he is caring and treats you like an adult who is willing to take responsibility for themselves. I truly do not have any negative things to say about this bunch.

Dr. Fegelman doesn't strike me as much of a \"people person\". He is a man of few words, but don't let that cloud your opinion of him. He is one of the best surgeons in the business and has a ton of experience. He has some great support people (Susan the dietitian and insurance guru and Jackie the nurse practitioner) that more than make up for the lack of warmth you might feel from Dr. Fegelman himself. The weight management program at Jewish Hospital is a well oiled machine with a wealth of information to offer. All of the information is there for the taking, just don't expect to get much of it from the doctor himself. If you rely on him mainly for the surgery and get your information from the classes, groups, and other professionals involved, you will be just fine!

My first and lasting impression of Dr. Fegelman is that he does not talk down to patients. He realizes that his patients are likely as intelligent and rushed as he is. He will take the time to explain everything thoroughly, but does not waste time going over simple concepts in excruciating detail unless the patient requests such explanation.rnrnOver time, I have grown to respect Dr. Fegelman more and more. He remembers his patients (and there are a LOT of us!), and takes personal pride in our accomplishments. rnrnDr. Fegelman's staff is small, but exempliary. They work efficiently to resolve any issues that come up, and are usually able to get back with me within 24 hours of my calling. rnrnThe Jewish hospital and Dr. Fegelman have developed a great before and aftercare program for both banding and RNY patients. I couldn't ask for anything more!rnrnDr. Fegelman was thorough in his explanations of the risks and benefits of the surgery, as was his staff and the staff at the Jewish Hospital Weight Loss Center. rnrnDr. Fegelman's manner may take some people off-guard. He is fast, direct, and personable, but many people are so used to being treated like an infant during such procedures that people may be put off by his directness and confidence. I personally enjoy it. I don't have a lot of time or tolerance for handholding, so Dr. Fegelman was and remains a breath of fresh air.rnrnOverall, Dr. Fegelman, his staff and the Jewish Hospital in Cincinnati, OH are awesome! As I have told many of my own patients (I work in a sleep disorders center), I would go through the procedure a thousand more times considering the benefits I have personally experienced since my surgery, and Dr. Fegelman and his staff are no small part of that!

rn My first impression of Dr. Fegelman was how professional he was. He took time to explain the different options I had. He explained what would happen, all the risks, and even showed me the band he would be using. His office staff is great..I really feel that they work together as a team, also working along with the Jewish Hospital Weight Management Team for aftercare. For me, surgical competence, and bedside manner are important, and he has both. If I had to refer someone for WLS, I would tell them about Dr. Fegelman.

When I first met Dr Fegelman I thought he was a very caring and understanding person. He asked me questions about my life to ensure I was making the best decision for me. He answered any and all questions that I had and when he wasn't available his staff would take a message and they always called me back the same day. rnHis staff was/is wonderful! Everyone was very nice and understanding. No matter when I called or stopped in they were helpful and pleasant.rnI also loved that Dr Fegelman works with Jewish Hospital Weight Management Center. I have been able to meet with dieticans who have helped me know what to eat and to learn new habits and they have support groups. Those are very helpful too because everyone there is going through or has been through the same thing as you.

Dr. Fegelman is the greatest. He is very straight and to the point. He will answer any of your questions. I was very impressed by his wealth of knowledge. If you want a doctor who is going to hold your hand through the process, he's probably not the best choice. If you want a doctor who will guide you and walk beside you in the journey, Dr. Fegelman rocks.

Dr. Fegelman impressed me. He explained the risks of surgery and didn't candy coat a thing. I respect that in a doctor. His staff and aftercare program is excellent. I would trust him in any surgical procedure.

Dr. Fegelman is very professional. His office staff were great. I had lapband surgery on 5/30/06 and lost 24 pounds in 7 weeks. I think he is a great surgeon and knows his stuff. He explained everything I wanted to know. The aftercare was great, I went back to see him and he was great along with his staff. He told me if I had any problems that he was only a phone call away. I would rate him as a 9 overall. As far as bedside manner he is ok, but I would rather have an excellent surgeon then someone who tries to make you feel warm and fuzzy.
