Kenneth J. Printen M.D. Bariatrics Bariatric Center

i liked him right off the bat, he makes you feel very comfortable, and at easethe office staff is very good, sheri, his recepsonist, is very good at her jobabout the only thing i can say is be prepared to wait, he is very busy, but its been a good learning experiencefor me, cause i got to talk to people that have had the surgery, so the time went fast. he explained aftercare for me and also gave me a book.he didnt really talk about the risks of surgery, but i am very well informed. i would give him a 10, i think he is great!!

Dr. Printen is an awesome doctor, at first i wasnt too sure about his office staff (had a somewhat rude person the 1st time, but only that time) I have grown to like both Dr Printen and Cheri and John a ton, they are all so nice to me. There is nothing I dont like about the doctor and his staff, they are all great. Dr printen is a very busy doctor, and he should be, he is great! But they do their best to get you in when it is convenient for everyone and out quickly also. Dr printen really knows how to make you feel good about yourself. I would rate Dr Printen as a perfect 10 as surgeons go, he was great in the hospital and out!

Well, I called Dr. Printen this afternoon. I got the answering machine and
told them there was no hurry to call back...monday will be fine. I chose Dr.
Printen as he was the ONLY doc that was within my network. I hope that he can
do this laproscopically. I heard that this requires less time to heal and as
I am self employeed I really can't be out of work for long. I will update this
when I hear from him or meet with him. Wish me luck!
Well, I met Dr. Printen recently for my initial consultation. I was rescheduled
twice; but each time was with AMPLE time to spare so it wasn't inconvient at
all. In fact, I thought that this was a good thing cause this way I know that
he doesn't rush through anything. Anyway, I got to his office an hour early.
As there wasn't many folks waiting to see him that day, he took me early.
We discussed various aspects of the surgery and the consequences of the proceedure.
As it turns out; he was part of the team that invented the surgery! So OK, I
think he would be qualified! LOL
I had a LOT of questions...unfortunately he said that the time for questions
wasn't during the first appointment. After I read the post surgery pamphlet
and gone to at least one of his support groups and returned for my second appointment
would be the time to get my questions answered as I would probably come up with
additional questions after I attended the group.
This seemed like a reasonable plan and will continue to research and gather
questions...I just hope he has a LOT of time scheduled for me; I have a TON
of questions! :•) I will keep you posted on the good doctor as my journey
progresses!
When my primary physican referred me to Dr. Printen I immediately went to the internet to do some research on him. I didn't find a thing! Then a friend referred me to the ObesityHelp website and while reading everyone's testimonials I came across some people that have had Dr. Printen as their surgeon. What I relief! I had my consultation with him and found him to be very nice. He answered all of my questions and I didn't feel like I was being rushed (I hate that). I would recommend Dr. Printen to anyone considering this procedure.

My first impression was that he seemed like a real-down to earth human being. The office staffed were nice and friendly. Honestly at this point, I can't say I found anything I didn't like about him or his office staff. I would tell future patients that you may have to practice extreme patience with the appointment scheduling, because my first consultation was post-poned twice by the office staff. Aftercare is a big concern of Dr. Printen in my opinion. The risks of surgery were fully explained to me.I would rate Dr. Printen at a 10 on a scale of 1-10 ( 10 being the highest), because of his surgical expertise and still acting human towards his patients. I didn't detect any stuck-up attitudes.

Dr. Printen is very compassionate and understanding. I have had 2 consultations and am convinced that I made the best choice. His staff is friendly and considerate. I liked the way Dr. Printen talks to you. He treats you like a person, with dignity and respect. I have asked many, many questions and he takes the time to answer all of them. I did wait a little bit longer in the waiting room on my first visit, because he was running late. But knowing how he treats his patients, and I don't even care anymore if I am waiting a little longer. IF you are looking into this surgery, I would HIGHLY recommed Dr. Printen

Finally got into meet Dr. Printen. Very forthright with the issues you don't want to hear but need to hear. Great sense of humor!
He's very warm and put me at ease.
After my second visit with Dr. Printen, I felt even more at ease. My husband fired away a million questions. He was so impressed with his bedside manner

MY FIRST IMPRESSION OF DR PRINTEN WAS GOOD. HE MADE ME FEEL RELAXED HE'S VERY DOWN TO EARTH. AS I RESEARCHED FOR A SUPPORT GROUP I FOUND ONE RIGHT NEXT DOOR ABOUT 3 BLOCKS AWAY AND THE MAJORITY OF THE MEMBERS WERE PATIENTS OF DR PRINTEN. THEY ALL HAVE HAD GREAT SUCESS DTORIES TO SHARE. TODAY AS I VISITED A GASTROENTEROLOGIST FOR A PROCEDURE THE NURSE AND DOCTOR PRAISED DOCTOR PRINTEN THEY SAID "HE'S VERY GOOD AT MANY SURGERIES BUT THE GASTRIC BYPASS IS HIS CUP OF TEA". I KNOW THAT THEY DIDN'T JUST SAY THAT TO SAY IT THEY MEANT IT AND THAT GAVE ME SOME INNER PEACE. HIS STAFF WAS VERY COURTEOUS ALTHOUGH VERY STRAIGHT FACED NO SMILES ETC...DR PRINTEN ADDRESSED THE RISK INVOLVED AND ASKED FOR MY SIGNIFICANT OTHER TO ATTEND A MEETING WITH HIM SO HE COULD ANSWER ALL OUR QUESTIONS. WE DIDN'T HAVE TOO MANY BECAUSE I HAD DONE QUITE A BIT OF RESEARCH. IF I HAD TO POINT OUT SOMETHING I DIDN'T LIKE ABOUT HIM, IT WOULD BE THAT MAYBE HE SEEMS TO LAID BACK BUT I GUESS SINCE HE'S BEEN DOING THIS SINCE 1968 HE'S PRETTY CONFIDENT. HIS AFTERCARE IS SO-SO, NOT MUCH JUST A SUPPORT GROUP AT THE HOSPITAL BUT I WAS VERY LUCKY TO FIND A SUPPORT GROUP BY MY HOUSE WITH HIS PATIENTS. I'LL UPDATE MORE AFTER SURGERY 11-26-01
