Dr. Jaroch is a very nice and caring Dr. So far he is taking all precautions. The only thing bad I could say about him is that he cancels appt.

Dr. Jaroch is no longer doing gastic bypass and told his patients he was not recommending any other doctors, as there was no one as good as he is. He is an excellent surgeon, but, in my opinion a very poor businessman. rn

I found Dr. Jaroch's bedside manner absolutely horrible, BUT I also found him to be a very passionate, no nonsense, VERY talented surgeon.

Hi, My Name is Melanie Edwards and I would just like you to know that Dr. John Zografakis is my new Post op surgeon, and he Is located at Akron City Hospital Summa's New Advanced Bariatric Care and Weight Loss Management Program.
Dr. Zografakis took over for my previous surgeon, Dr. Mark Jaroch, when the cost of his Malpractice Insurance became too outrageous.

It was so wonderful to meet Dr. Zografakis, mainly because he has a very friendly demeanor and he made me feel very comfortable, which is why am looking forward to being under his care for all of my Post Op Needs.

Dr. Zografakis took his time to listen to my history with my other surgeon and was very willing to take over and see me through my post op needs. I would highly recommend Dr. John to anyone interested in making the best decision of their life!!

Please check out his web site at http://www.summahealth.org/common/templates/article.asp?ID=3758

Also, I must say that the staff is fabulous, kind, caring and take time to make sure all your needs are met. Thanks gals!!

I have been attending our group meetings since Sept. 2003. I like the way he dont pull any punches...

So far, I have had no problems with his office staff..

I am glad that I was finally able to have our 1 on 1 and get to actually talk with my doctor

Dr Jaroch, Loves Soy.....

I do not have anything negative to say about my physician at this time and from what I see now, I dont believe there will be any
issue's at this time. I do really like him.

My first impression of Dr. Jaroch, was wonderful! He is SO very involved with his patients on a very personal level and he is a top notch surgeon. My primary care doctor and gastrointerologist doctor, both know him and said he was the best in his field. Over time, and after a couple meetings I grew to like him even more. He is a very busy man though, but still takes the time to be super "involved" in an aftercare program! He takes WLS extremely seriously, and as long as someone follows his instructions, they will be successful. Aftercare is essential. The grocery store tours he takes his post-op patients on, is wonderful. He teaches you how to read labels, and how to shop for good, nutritional foods. On a scale from 1 to 10, he is most definately a 10! I think Dr. J's surgical competence outrates his bedside manner, however. In the hospital, I thought he seemed "overextended", as his many other patients in various nearby hospitals also required his time, so, if I were to compare what about him I appreciated the most, it was his competence. He addresses the risks of the surgery right off, and makes sure you understand them well, but also of the health benefits of having the surgery. Dr. Jaroch is SUPERB!

his staff seems to be on the ball and a special mention here for judy hicks who helped me alot.

I started the process on Aug 17th, 2001 from there I went through various insurance snafus but I was finally approved around Nov, 20th 2001. My surgery was done on Dec 20th, 2001 and all went well - no complications. It is now Sept 10th, 2003 (21 months post-op) and I have lost nearly 225Lbs. I have gone from a 6XLT shirt down to a Medium (Large T-Shirt) and my pant size has dropped from a 58 down to a 36. I feel increadable and I now have energy to play with the kids, mow the lawn do my lanscaping and even have a garden. I also bought a 2002 Mustang GT Convertible since I can now fit behind the wheel of it.

My first impression of Dr. Jaroch was that he was very knowledgeable. He explained things thoroughly and I felt very confident with him from the beginning. He was very friendly and told me all of the steps I needed to take before and after surgery. The office staff was very nice to me when I called in. I thought they were under staffed. I don't think there are enough people working in there to handle the amount of patients. One thing I would stress about Dr. Jaroch is that he expects you to follow directions. He can do the surgery but he cannot fix all the emotional issues that people have. So many people expect him to take care of it all. The entire process, from before the surgery to after, I felt very confident with him. He takes time out of his own schedule to have a monthly meeting to help people. He also takes people through the grocery store to help them eat better and learn about food. I do not know of any other doctor that invests what he does in his patients. It does not matter what time, day or night, when he is needed he is there. I am so thankful that he is the doctor that did my surgery.
