Mark T. Jaroch M.D. Bariatric Center

Dr. Jaroch was the greatest. He is super surgeon who gives you tons of information. I also thought he treated you as a whole person rather than just a weight issue. After care is really important to Dr. Jaroch, although I feel that he is stricter than most doctors he is only concerned for what is best for you.

I can not sat enough about Dr. Jaroch... He takes his time to listen to your concerns and addresses them clearly. He tells you what you should expect and is always willing to answer any question or concerns that pop up between visits... No matter how silly you may think they are... He has a great support staff in his office who are also warm and caring and treat you with respect. He talks all over the country about his work and is very proud of the results his patients have. Dr. Jaroch is VERY big on after care...He gives you the diet and advise and how to reteach yourself about food and your new stomach..such as using 1 oz medicine cups at first to eat out of so you start to learn not only how much protein is in how much food but to help your brain relearn how much...little...you can now handle. He also practices what he wants you to do...He follows the same diet he asks you to follow (zone) and eats the same protein bars ..in fact when he did my tummy tuck he had a protein bar in his pocket..it was late in the evening when he arrived in my room and he seen my bar sitting on my table..he pulled out his...He has a great attitude about life and wants to help people not only get their lives back but to become healthier while they are doing it....On a scale of 1 - 10 Dr Jaroch is iver the top in my book!!!

Dr. Jaroch is very professional. He is very knowledgable. I cannot say enough good about the man. He has saved my life.
His office staff is friendly and very helpful.
Dr. Jaroch does not have the best "bedside manner", but this does not lessen my view of him. He is wonderful.
He heads his monthly support group and is there day and night if you page him with a question.
He addresses all pros and cons of surgery.
I think he is an 11 on a scale of 1-10, with 10 being the top.

I was afraid that he would turn me down because I was so big. But he did everything in his power to help me get this surgery..(Thank God!) His staff is very helpful and wonderful...Judy was great with me. That Dr. Mark Jaroch is great and very careing...he saved my life in so many ways.
Very Much after care...also with his support group....I haven't been to a meeting for a long while cause of work....Vitamins Vitamins must take your Vitamins!!
Yes he is very up front with everything!! He is the best...top of the line...God Bless him for helping me to save my life! Everything is great!

My first impression of him was that he cared.
He is very knowledgeable and takes time to answer all the questions i asked.
My appointments were responded to puntually and the staff was very supportive.
I didn't like the wait between appointments- but he only deals
with his gastric bypass canidates on tuesday and thursday sooo- I guess that can't be helped.
The doctor is very thourough in testing and extremely cautious in reducing
risks of complications- for example he leaves a g-tube in until three weeks after surgery (it comes
out of your stomach similar to a drain) and this prevents the need for a ng-tube (the one that goes in your nose,
down your throat and to your stomach) thank God! The best surprise was the way he closes up your incision-
he closes with a subquetaneous(sp) sutures and then aplies sterile tape on top- so no staples and the scar line
looks like someone just drew a thin line down the center of my chest.
He encourages all to attend an aftercare support group that meets at the hospital the thrid thursday every month. And exercise, exercise, exercise!
I know that horrible word! But I'll tell ya within three weeks i was feeling wonderful and I wanted- actually wanted too- exercise.
He addressed all risks of surgery and explained them. I would rate him a 10 in a 1-10 scale. And to me- both bedside manner and surgical ability was a must.
Dr. Jaroch has perfected this surgery and does travel the nation giving reports and talks on his techniques as well. He had my full confidence!
One negitive- the hospital was horrible! The nurses were late responding to needs- the aides were rude and hardly ever around when I needed help.
I was never visted by a respiratory specialist nor given any idea how to help with my breathing problems (which I never had before surgery). And the nutritionist sent me home with the wrong diet!
I was supposed to be on no- sugar and the Vertical banded surgery diet had all kinds of sugar in its diet sooo.
Then when I had more trouble with my breathing and I went back to the hospitals ER- a nurse clsed the bed railings on my draina ndd riped the stiches right out of me! Horrible!

Mark Jaroch is a great surgeon, he takes time to talk to you and explains everything, he is very caring and makes sure the nurses at the hospital does everything he wants done,or they will here about it. and no NG tube. I can't say enough about d.r.Jaroch. he is wonderful. And he attends all support meetings. he is a great supporter of WLS.
