I had my first appt with Dr. Harberg today. He really knows his stuff. His office staff is great! Tammie is so sweet and helpful. I'm now waiting for insurance approval, so we'll see. He is very informative and detailed. He lets you know everything up front. All of my questions were answered before I could ask.
My first impression of him was that he would get the job done in a suitable manor. My feeling about him did not change however when i was in pain in the hospital i did feel like curssing him.
The first time that I met Dr. Harberg I thought him a bit crass. He was very up front about what he expected from you. If you agreed to all his rules and regulations he would then tell you what he could do for you. Dr. Harberg knows his stuff. He's very knowledgeable and competent. Don't let his dry scense of humor fool you.
Be ready if you are going to have the surgery...It's a complete lifestyle change..trust me when I say you will NEVER eat the same way again! It's not just a quick fix. If you want this to work, you have to be committed to it. I wouldn't take anything in the world for my surgery. My best friend Stephanie had it first..She looks absolutley beautiful..After I saw her results I had to have it. After years of being overweight, I saw relief of that insight. I had to fight my insurance for approval, but because I have multiple sclerosis, they approved the surgery after the battle. I still had to pay about $4,000 out of pocket, but trust me, it was the best 4,000 I've ever spent! E-mail me if you have any questions or just want to talk...
No nonsense doctor who has been wonderful with helping me with information. Really felt comfortable putting my life in his hands.

I had a very pleasurable meeting with Dr. Harberg. He was extremely through and was concerned with making sure I was making the right choice. Also, that I understand this is a life long adjustment.
Dr. Harberg has been very thorough. Answered all of my questions, some before I even asked them. He seems a bit gruff, but pleasant to speak with and very knowledgeable.

he was very very very thorough and i found his personality to be
very pleasing. I was recommended to him by two other ladies who have
used him for the vertical gb/stomach stapling surgery and are very pleased.
one lady is approx 6 mos post op and the other is approx 2 years.
i understand his scar is sort of long but that's ok with them and to me as well as
long as the job is done correctly. i don't care about a
tiny scar i care more about safety and being efficient. the secre
taries at his office are always eager to assist and answer questions
for me ( i call a lottttt).
