Medical University of South Carolina Bariatrics Bariatric Center

I met Dr.Morgan and her staff yesterday I was surprised,EVERYONE was really nice. I especially liked her nurse she was very informative and super nice. I was really nervous until I talked to her, I guess she is the Ice Breaker. When Dr.Morgan came in I was again surprised at the confidence that she brought to the room. She explained everything to me and I did not feel rushed at all.

My impression of Dr. Byrne was very positive. I have met with him twice now. He is very compassionate and educated. He answered all my questions and did not seem to be in a hurry to get out the door. The staff is great too. I haven't met one person at musc that hasn't been kind and helpful...from the Dr. to the ladies in registration. I go in for surgeryrntomorrow. I will update as soon as I can.

I have met Dr. Byrne on during my intial Seminar on July 17, 2007. I have several friends that have used him as a Surgeon and heard nothing but awesome comments so far. He seems very down to Earth, extremely knowledable and confident in what he does. He has gone over all the risks, aftercare, etc during the Seminar. He made us very aware of the fact that this surgery is only a tool, the best tool we'll ever have, but only a tool. He stressed the fact that success is up to us as a person. I will try to update as my saga continues, lol!

My first impression was great, and he hasn't disappointed me at all. Everyone in the office was very nice and friendly and they are all very intelligent. Dr. Byrne emphasizes that WLS is not a cure but a tool. He doesn't sugar coat anything and that is what I like the most. Sugar coating doesn't help you at all. He is so smart, but he speaks to you in a manner in which you will easily understand. Not a whole bunch of medical terminology that is hard to keep up with. Overall my opinion is, he is absolutely wonderful and I look forward to my surgery knowing I will be in great hands!

My first impression of Dr. Byrne was that he was a \"no nonsense\" kind of guy. He said the truth, even though many people did not know how to handle it. Since then my impression have not changed. He remains to be \"no nonsense\". Dr. Byrne is very confident of his ability to perform a great surgery, and every patient wants to feel confident in his or her surgeon. In fact, his entire team is as confident as he is. He stresses that the surgeries are \"tools\" not \"cures\" for obesity, and I respect that; therfore the patient has to work. After surgery, I saw a softer side of Dr, Byrne as he propped himself against my bed rail wearing casual clothes, a warm smile, and saying, \"Everything went well!\" I do not regret my decision of Dr. Byrne or Medical University of South Carolina.
