My first impression of Dr. Cerabona was positive. Which is something because my opinions of doctors usually fall somewhere around my opinions about dog feces. He seemed to know what he was talking about, didn't seem too full of himself, and had a sense of humor. I've maintained that impression of him, though I've only met with him face to face once. I can't say there's anything about the doctor that I didn't like.rnrnI was less impressed with his office staff, though they're certainly better than some of the office staff I've dealt with in the past. All in all, they weren't unpleasant enough to be a deal-breaker.rnrnThe whole program emphasises aftercare and support groups. Which makes perfect sense. And here, they explain it you in terms that you can appreciate, instead of just in terms of a requirement that must be satisfied. rnrnThe doctor explained the risks of the surgery in great detail, as well as allaying any fears I or my parents may have had. He talked to us as if he were a regular person and he was on our level, intellectually.rnrnOverall, I would give the doctor a rating of excellent. He seems to have both surgical competence and bedside manner, and to me, both are necessary. rnrn

I WENT TO THE CLASSES DID THE 10% WEIGHT LOSS BUT I WAS UNABLE TO KEEP MU APPOINTMENT TO THE CLINICS BECAUSE OF MY TWL BAD KNEES.rnI WAS GIE YOUR NAME BY ELLEN OTT, SHE SAID YOU DO THIS KIND OF SURGERY.rnrnMY LIFE AND MEDICAL PROBLEMS ARE A SERIOUS ISSUE , AND I NEED FOR YOU TO SEND ME ALL THE NECESSARY PAPERS I NEED TI FILL OUT. Very well spoken, felt like he actually cared about me and what he does. My impression of how great he was only strengthened over time. The office staff is great, very helpful with every aspect before, up to and during surgery (i just wish that there was a little more direction upon leaving the office once you finish up w/doctor), their dietician fantastic. I would and do highly recommend this group to anyone who will listen! Aftercare is extrememly important and the staff always reminds you of that, but on that note, even though the program is highly recommended, there does not seem to be a strict schedule in place. The risks were given matter-of-factly and emphasis was placed on them, but so were the risks of remaining obese. I would give Dr. Kaul a 10 out of 10, he is great! His competance surgically and bedside are fantastic!
When I first met Dr. Cerabona I felt confident he was the surgeon for me! He made me feel so relaxed and calm. I was able to ask him a lot of questions, he answered them all in a way that was easily understood yet never spoke down to me. rnrnBy nature I get very anxious when it comes to anything to do with doctors, on the morning of my surgert I was a nervous wreck! As soon as Dr. Cerabona came into the holding area I immediately felt myself calming down. He stood next to me, joked around a little bit with me, he was very kind to my family, he answered their questions. In the OR when my anxiety level increased again he stood next to me, rubbed my arm a little and calmed me right down again, he has an amazing bedside manner! After the surgery he spoke with my family, my mother is in the medical field and is very difficult to impress, was totally impressed with Dr. Cerabona. rnrnDr. Cerabona's office staff has been really top notch so far I have had no problems with any of them. Sophia the PA is wonderful. Janet the nutrionist is really good too. I think the pre/post OP class prior to surgery was so beneficial! rnrnMy only complaint this far is that I had no way of speaking with either the PA or a surgeon after hours. There doesn't appear to be an answering service for the office. The voice mail advises you to call 911 or go to the ER. My issue did not need a trip to the ER, but did need the advice of a PA or Surgeon. I choose to call my Primary Care Physician for assistance. I would have been more comfortable speaking with the surgeon's office. rnrnI give Dr. Cerabona 2 thumbs up! He is truly amazing! I have so much respect for him!
He was and is one of the most professional doctors I have ever met.rnEvery thing went off without a hitch. I was impressed with his knowledge and confident attitude. Right from the start he told me “I can fix your stomach you have to fix your head\" I now live by those words. To sum it up there were no complications and very little pain. I now know what “Life Changing” means. rn
I had to change surgeons due to my insurance. I have now attended the seminar done by Dr. Kaul and have my first appointment set up.
8-29-06rnI met with Dr. Cerabona for the first time today for my consultation and am very happy to know that he will be my surgeon. He looked into my health and helped me to figure out which surgery would be best for me and my lifestyle. I couldn't be happier. rnrn
Dr. Cerabona, is the Best... My first impression of him was that as soon as he walked into the room, I knew I was in the right place....He gave you the info in Black and White, held nothing back very caring. The whole Dr. Staff is Great..... I just Love the office Staff... JUDY....LIZ....PHYLLIS.....CARLOS......One thing they are very BUSY.... so you may have to wait but they are worth the WEIGHT......
Dr. Cerabona was a very pleasant doctor to deal with. He was personal and very caring. He exuded confidence.rnThe office has the total package.rnEverything that you need is available right there. They require that you follow a strict regimen to ensure that you are ready for the surgery.rnrnMy experience was phenomenal.
