I have had my surgery with Dr. Iannioli. I first meet Dr. I in August of 2002. We meet in his office and we hit it off right away. He is very professional. He talked about the surgery as an overview. He explained that the second meeting with him would be very detailed, but for the first meeting he was covering the before, during and after story. He wanted to know what I knew about the surgery. He then wanted to know my complete medical history. He asked that anyone in my life that had questions on the surgery to come to the next meeting with me so he could address their concerns right to them. My sister doid go and all of her questions were answered. Dr. I is in his 35 years old and has done hundreds of these surgeries.
As we got to know each other we hit it off everytime we saw each other. I would bump into Dr. I at the hospital (We have support meeting for pre-op and post-op) and every time he has taken time to talk to me and to see how I'm doing.
Dr. I's office staff is the best. Every time I have called with a question if she couldn't answer it she would have the doctor get back to me with in that day. She has a great handle on all of the insurance paper work as well as all of the needed lab paper work. I have never had to fill out forms or wait for them to be filled out. She has them all done for us when we leave the office.
The only thing I see that I didn't like was how long it took from the first meeting to the final date. I do have to remember that he is a very bussy doctor and he did get me in as soon as he could.
Dr. I is very thoughtful of aftercare. He keep track of your weight loss, diet and exercise. He gives you detailed instructions for what he wants you to do and when to do it.
I'm not too sure what "Structured Aftercare Program" is. He doesn't go for walks with me. He doesn't meet me in the gym. He hasn't fixed meals for me, but he does ask how the exercise is going. He will instruct me to make changes in my work outs. He asks about my diet and make suggestions on what types of food to eat.
I would rate Dr. I as one of the very best. Lets put it this way. I would do it again in a minute with Dr. I even if he said he only had a warm spoon and no anesthesia.
I would say he was great all around. He was there when ever I needed him and I'm sure he will be there in the future as well.
Please keep in mind that everyone is different. Dr. I and me hit it off. We understand each other and respect each other. I had NO problems at all. I had a great staff in the hospital (Park Ridge in Rochester, NY) and a loving family and friends to help me at every turn. This might be true for everyone, so PLEASE meet with you doctors, their staff and the hospital. Go to support groups, talk to people who had this done and most of all DO YOUR HOME WORK.

My first appt. was yesterday. I thought I was fine but when the time came, I was so nervous. I couldn't even remember what medications I take. Dr. Iannoli was so patient and helped me come up with the answers. Once I got a few of the meds, the rest came easily and I was much calmer. I can't wait for my next appt. March 31st. He told me the surgery will likely be scheduled the end of May or early June. He reassured me that if I have any questions before the next appt. I could just stop him anytime. I am fortunate that I work in the building next to his office and he walks through frequently.

Dr. Iannoli, impressed me the first time that I meet him. He talked to me for over an hour. He made me feel like he cared about what happened to me. He told me all about the procedure, what he would do, how I would feel afterwards. I will write more about him after the surgery.
His office staff has been so wonderful. They have put up with me calling and asking "Have you heard anything yet" The day that I got the approval from my Ins. I called the office and told them, they seemed to be so happy for me.

I immediately felt comfortable talking to him.I am a Nurse myself so i do have alot ot compare him to!
By the second visit i had complete confidence that he was the surgeon for me.
The office staff is extremely helpful and very pleasant.
I cant think of anything i dont like about him or his staff.
He has been doing this procedure for many years and still remains quite caring to the patients needs and concerns.
Yes he does stress that we will be seeing each other for a very long time afterwards and support is also nessecary.
He spent one whole office visit explaining the procedure, what it involves in your major life changes...and the risks of the surgury,He made all of this clear.
this is a question for the future since i have just gotten my surgury date.

Dr. Iannoli has truly impressed me. He is very caring, understanding and his office staff if superb. I can't say there is anything about Dr. Iannoli that I am unhappy with. He's been very honest about what to expect and takes my concerns seriously.
He has excellent bedside manner and I would rate him a "10"! He hasn't done a huge number of surgeries at Park Ridge Hospital, but he has quite a bit of experience from hospitals he has worked at in the past. My bigger concern is uninformed hospital staff, not HIS knowledge or ability.
