Aftercare is a given. He or was it his staff, said that the surgery is just the beginning of the relationship with Dr. Shapiro and his staff.
Yes, I understand his aftercare program is quite structured and very supportive. I would recommend Dr. Shapiro to anyone who is looking for a kind, comapssionate and committed surgeon.

My first impression was that he is very professional in the seminar I attended, but anwsered any questions, we had at the time.

I was immediately impressed with Dr. Shapiro's professional, honest approach. He wasn't trying to sell anything; he was giving information with which people could make decisions. He was prepared and thorough in my initial consult with me. I am excited about having him for my surgeon.

My first impression of Dr. Shapiro was that he was very detailed. He asked all the right questions and made meel feel at ease immediately. He made it clear that there were risks involved. His office staff is very friendly and helpful. The program I am in has a support group meeting on the second Tuesday of each month. I also have regularly scheduled appointments with Dr. Shapiro. Overall, I would rate Dr. Shapiro a 10.

My first impression of Dr Shapiro was that he was a well dressed person. He also cared deeply for us. My impression has not changed too much. He is a strict MD, that drills me on nutrional intake during office visits. His staff is the best. Delaine RN who has moved on, was beyond belief. She was there 150%. Karen LPN is great. She is always there with a smile & willing to help in anyway she can. Aftercare is a top priority. The group meets once a month. Dr. Shapiro is up front with the health risks & consequences of the surgery. I think that anyone contemplating WLS would be in good hands with this team.

I have met Dr. Shapiro. He answers any and all questions. At this time I am waiting for approval from insurance. But I am so anxious to get things moving. I have a lot of confidence in Dr. Shapiro. I have only heard good things about him and his staff. My sister is one of his patients, her surgery was over two years ago. She is a new person.I can't wait for my date.

Dr. Shapiro is wonderful! He is very understanding & never made me feel guilty about being overweight & helped to convince me that it's not all my fault I'm heavy. He has been doing this for many years & I'm told he's never lost a patient, do it is very comforting! He is also very thorough with the pre-op testing. He makes sure his patients get the best care at the hospital & I was told it's like staying at the Hilton! Karen, his nurse, is the best. She is so upbeat & fun! She really makes you feel comfortable with the whole process. I feel like I am in the best hands possible.

I met Dr Shapiro on Aug 18 at the consultation meeting at the St Cloud Hospital. He was very thourogh in explaining the procedure of RNY, risks, and benefits . His assistant then followed up with pre op and post op scheduling and answered all our questions.
I am very impressed with Dr Shapiro and his staff. I am still pre op, but know I will be seeing more of him as my appt's are scheduled. I have heard many good comments about his care for his patients.
I attended the support group led by his assistant and became more comfortable after hearing many success stories.
I am looking forward to working more with Dr Shapiro.

I am pre-op at this time, but I am very impressed with Dr. Shipero and his staff. He is a very thurough surgeon and makes sure you are ready to have this surgery. He is willing to meet with you any time and answer all your questions. He and his staff are very conpassionate people and very professional. He has a very extensive pre-op procedure and an excellent post-op follow-up schedule. I am not the least bit apprehensive about choosing him as my surgeon!
