St. John Providence Weight Loss Bariatric Center

I really liked him. He was very honest why he didn't think lap band was for me (which I wanted) and that I would do better with the sleeve. He could have made a lot of money with me doing the band even knowing that it wouldn't work for me.

When I first met this wonderful surgeon I thought "he's so young" how could he possibly be as experienced as I would like him to be? Getting to know him has certainly changed my mind! I met him once in a group setting at his office and wasn't too thrilled with that but I could understand how busy he is and it is difficult to see so many people when you are not in surgery. When I met him one on one he was very up front about my role in this procedure and what I could expect from him and his staff. The day of my surgery he came and talked to me beforehand, explained what would be happening and then he went and talked to my family. Once the surgery was over he again went and spoke to my family to explain everything to them that had happened and how well I had done. Actually I had more care from all of the team than I have ever had before a surgery previously!
I would recommend this surgeon and his team to anyone thinking about having weight loss surgery!

I consider myself so lucky that I found Dr. Katz. He was so amazing after my surgery and called me every day. When I was having issues, he went above and beyond to try and figure out the problem, always called me at home. You could truly tell how concerned he was that I wasn't feeling great. And once I was, you could see the excitement in him. The office staff is just as amazing. everyone will develop a personal relationship with you, and it makes the whole process so much easier. Amazing surgeon, amazing staff, and amazing program!

The first time I met Dr. pesta I was impressed. He was easy to talk to, non-judgemental, sympathetic, and he really showed he cared.

I could have easily chose a surgeon that was closer to my home, but after meeting Dr. Pesta, there was no doubt in my mind who I wanted for my surgeon and I was willing to drive 5 and 1/2 hours each way to get him.

In fact, the entire Bariatric Center at Henry Ford Macomb Hospital in Warren, MI was incredible. Sally Green and L'Nora were so helpful with any questions and concerns I had and helped me through the process as if they were old friends.

I had my surgery Sept. 2, 2009 and in 3 months, I am down just over 100 lbs and feel great. Dr. Pesta checked in on me several times during my 2 days in the hospital and I couldn't have asked for a better Doctor. He truly does care about his patients and even gives you his personal cell and pager numbers if you ever have ANY questions, he's there for you. His staff are very friendly and really go to bat for you.

I would easliy recommend Dr. Pesta to anyone looking for a compassionate great surgeon, and the Bariatric Team at Henry Ford Macomb Hospital in Warren, MI. I cannot say enough how greatful I am for the work they did to change.....to save my life, because until my surgery, I wasn't living, just existing. Thanks again, Dr. Pesta!

Wonderful doctor, wonderful office staff. Called me so far everyday at home to check on me and listens to my needs. Called in meds no problem. Just a blessing to have him for my surgeon!

Dr. Pesta is the best surgeon in the whole world. He made me feel very comfortable because he is very kind and very understanding. He always listens to what i have to say and he always makes me feel that everything i talk to him about is important. I am very lucky to have him for a doctor.

I am happy with the care I recieved from Dr. Kole and the rest of the staff at St. John's weight loss.

My first impression of Dr. Kole was that he was very well versed. He treated me like the "against the grain" individual that I am. Understanding that I didn't want RNY and being very expressive about this, Dr. Kole took my perspective as it was and knowing that we would have to fight the insurance company to get approval for VSG. Contrary to the norm, he took my case anyway and said "well, let's fight!" I was so impressed by his aggressive nature and insistence to win! Never before had a ran into a physician that was so "human." It was NOT about money with him, it was about "what was best for his patient." I knew from his first "hello" that he was the surgeon for me.
His office staff works like a well oiled machine. The right hand actually KNOWS what the left hand is doing. It is totally amazing to see a group of people, irregardless of their different demographic backgrounds, work so well together to assure that the patient is the first priority.
I absolutely loved everything about Dr. Kole and his staff. Dr. Kole himself is meticulously wonderful; Clara, the insurance coordinator, is strategically excellent; and Kim, the dietitian, knows her "foods."
Future patients should come to Dr. Kole's office with a clear mind, setting aside all preconceived notions and previous experiences. I guarantee, you will be amazed!
The aftercare program is set in place before you are even scheduled for surgery. So each patient knows what's expected of them and how to get help immediately after surgery and in the long term.
Overall, I rate Dr. Kole and his staff above excellent in the field of WLS and general patient care. They are really "changing the game" and I thank God for them daily!

AMAZING surgeon!!

I've heard nothing but great things regarding Dr. Hawasli. My GP (Dr. Nancy Ajemian) says he is great. Seems gentle, caring and very experienced.

I wanted the Sleeve, but wasn't approved through insurance -- not a recognized procedure yet.

Getting the Lap Band. Dr. Hawasli doesn't believe in the full WLS, believes it is treating discease with discease.
