St. John Providence Weight Loss Bariatric Center

Dr. Kole is the best!!! When I first saw him, I thought, wow is he tall!! He seems like a quiet fellow. But in all actuality, he's listening trying to learn everything about you and I believe, learning your personality so that he can determine what surgery best suits you. The entire staff couldn't be any nicer!! Everyone, I mean everyone is so friendly and knowledgable. I couldn't recommend a better place to have bariatric surgery. Dr. Kole has the best beside manner that I have come across in a long time. One thing about the dr.'s and staff at St. John Weight Loss Center is they are very much on top of pain management. They refuse to allow you to suffer. When you go in for your post-surgical visits, they treat you just as special when you came in the first time, only now they know who you are!! Dr. Kole explained the risks of the surgery, but he is also very reassuring that you are in more than capable hands. If I could, I'd give Dr. Kole and his entire staff a big 20. Going through a surgical procedure of this magnitude surgical competence is of the utmost importance, but bedside manner is a big help in the healing process. Dr. Kole has it all and then some!!! Don't believe me? Go see for yourself.

The office staff has been so supportive and moved quickly once I finished my insurance requirements. My daughter also had Dr Katz for her RNY over a year ago and her after care has been excellent.rnSince my surgery, Dr Katz has called me twice a day to check on my progress. He treats his patients like you are family. He is very thourough and attentive. I am so impressed with my care.

Dr. Pesta is very professional, clean and very well dressed. First Impressions are everything, but I soon came to realize that Dr. Pesta is very knowlegeable. The office staff was always very helpful, Sally and L'nora always made you feel like you were a VIP. The aftercare program is a once a week support group meeting, although I live in canada and can't get to the states every week for that. Henry ford Mcomb hospital has informational seminars frequently in london ontario, explaining the surgery its risks and complications and it;s benifits. I would rate Dr.Pesta and the girls a 9 out of 10, one point down from perfect, as it would be nice to have a once a month educational meeting here in ontario given by them, and also it would be nice if the Dr. would come to canada once a week/mo. to make it easier for us to get to him. Otherwise, there is nothing bad or dissapointing about this hospital or it's staff! GOOD JOB

When I first met Dr. Hawasli, my first impression of him was; I knew he was the one. I looked in to his eyes and saw peace, assurance and safety. And even to this day, I still feel the same. After speaking with him during one of the seminars, I knew he was the doctor for me. The office staff has been so pleasant and informative. Dr. Hawasli stressed the importance of changing my lifestyle to get healthier. I will be his patient for the next three years for after care. He informed me of the risks for having Lap Band surgery and I was also given written materials to read and study. I think that Dr. Hawasli is a very fine doctor. I would rate him high.

My first impression of my Dr was that he was very skilled and knowledgable and knew how to convey that. He also made sure that he imparted his patients, my sister and I, with enough information to make us feel very comfortable with our choice to use him as our surgeon. After my surgery he impressed me even more. He called me several times at home to make sure I was okay. Scolded me (very nicely) when had a common complication and I hesitated to call him because it was too early on a Sunday morning. When I did call around 9am he had just left the hospital but jumped right into action. Was always familiar with my condition and where I was at. When my sister had her surgery a few months after mine, she had a far less common complication but he was very diligent in finding out what was going on a took prompt and proper care of her. When we again had to call him at an odd hour you could hear faintly in the background that he was probably having family time (kids giggling). He beat us to the hospital. He also consulted on a patient that was next to my sister in the ER on his off day. He was always EXTREMELY caring, kind, and just WOW on the bedside manner....AWESOME!!!!!!!!I have nothing negative to say about him or his staff...they were amazing. His surgical competence and bedside manner were both remarkable. My sisters' and I are grateful for the care we received and all I can say is he is EXCELLENT as for the Center of Excellence that he is part of. St John Health System, Oakland Hospital. Where they exemplify having \"A Passion for Healing.\"

Dr. Pesta is an amazing surgeon. He has great bedside manner. He is very knowledgable and extremely helpful. Dr. Pesta has a great sense of humor and has a very caring personality. As I waited in pre-op I was very nervous, and Dr. Pesta came in and he was able to calm me down. He is very confident and it showed right through. I knew I was in good hands. I even had to page him once I was home and he called me back within 5 minutes. Even at the follow up appointments with him he makes sure you are taken care of and he makes you feel important. I would recommend him to anyone and have done so already! His office staff is very helpful as well. They go out of their way to accomodate you. Dr. Pesta changed my life for the better. Thank you Dr. Pesta!

First Impression: This Dr. takes the time to come to teaching seminars and actually tells people when he thinks they are not candidates for surgery! He wants people to make informed decisions. My impression never changed. He was always kind, asked for feedback, thanked me for calling and waking him up in the middle of the night. Always took the time in the office to sit with patients and answer EVERY question. Never, in the entire process, did I feel alone or like I didn't know what to do. His office staff are very thorough and supportive. My favorite thing about Dr.Marshall was his sense of humor and his ability to actually sit down and empathize with the patient. Future patients should know that they will be very well cared for, and that he is honest and always respectful. I am an ontario patient with OHIP funding which means that only a small number of office visits are paid for. He doesnt care. He brings you in the office as much as you need until you are feeling perfect. Dr. Marshall not only gave a lecture at the information seminar, but also prior to surgery where he explained, in detail, the surgery and the risks.I would rate Dr. Marshall and his partner, Dr.Pesta as both 100 out of ten. I have never had medical care of this quality.rnI could not choose what Dr. Marshall is better at, he couldnt be better at either. I love him for the change that has come about in my life!
