I LIKED DR ENGLISH FROM THE START. HE IS SO SWEET AND KNOWS HOW TO MAKE YOU FEEL COMFORTABLE NOT TO MENTION HE IS A CUTIE.HIS STAFF IS GREAT THEY ALL ARE EAGER TO HELP IN ANYWAY.I HAVE NO COMPLAINTS AT ALL ABOUT DR ENGLISH HE IS GREAT! HE IS A GREAT DR AND IS HIGHLY SKILLED . AFTER CARE IS VERY IMPORTANT TO HIM. HE WANTS TO MAKE SURE YOUR BLOOD WORK IS GOOD AND THAT YOUR GETTING EVERYTHING YOU NEED IN YOUR DIET AS WELL AS HOW YOU ARE DOING IN LIFE. THEY HAVE MEETING AT FLORIDA MEDICAL CENTER EVERY 3 TUESDAY OF EVERY MONTH.ONE OF THE DRS IN THE GROUP ARE THERE TO ANSWER ANY QUESTIONS OR CONCERNS YOU HAVE. THEY GIVE YOU ALL THE PROS AND CONS AND ARE VERY TRUTHFUL. IF I HAD TO RATE DR ENGLISH AND IF IT WERE 1-10 HE WOULD GET AN 11. I THINK YOU NEED BOTH BEDSIDE MANOR AND SURGICAL COMPETENCE AND IF YOU DONT GET BOTH FIND A DR WHO HAS BOTH.MY EXPERIENCE HAS BEEN NOTHING BUT GREAT AND THATS THE TRUTH !!!!!

Dr. Carrasquilla is very nice. He was professional but didn't have that "God's Gift" attitude like I had encountered with other surgeons. He was very knowledgeable and confident in this surgery. It's like he knew exactly how I feel. He has performed over 600 surgeries so far. He answered any questions, even if they were off the wall and made me feel extremely comfortable. It was a relaxed atmosphere and the office staff were friendly. I have met several post-ops of his and received positive feedback.
I am scheduled with Dr. English because he had availability 6 weeks sooner. I heard he is wonderful as well. I'm scheduled to see him on 2/28/02 for my physical examination. Will leave more feedback after that date.

He performed the surgery on my best friend last May and he was wonderful with her and explaining everything to us thoroughly directly after her surgery and throughout the past 8 months. This is why I chose him in particular.

The office staff is very approachable and very kind. They are quite busy so it is a little hard to get in touch with them but other than that...they are amazing.

They offer highly structured pre-op and post-op programs. Extremely thorough. The surgery is just the beginning of one's relationship with them.

The thing that mostly impressed me about the team is that they truly care about each and everyone of their patients and the patients family. They become your friends and confidants and get emotionally attached to your well being. That includes the doctor himself as well.

dr english is a young man of great skill compassion and understanding. besides being a wonderful surgeon he has taken the time to study and learn about the life problems of the morbidly obese..everything from clothing to airplane seats etc. he is the partner of the head of surgery at fla medical center in ft.lauderdale fla., dr carlos carrisquilla. he too is a wonderfull compasionate dr. their office staff of debbie becky and arisha are efficialnt and knowledgeable as debbie is a post op herself. the after care program is the most important part of the procedure. there are monthly support group meetings and the staff is always available to answere any questions. all that i can say is that this group of drs. are the best there is. thanks steve

My first impression of Dr. English is that he showed an interest to what I wanted. What my thoughts and feeling were. Then he shared aabout what I was going to experience with this surgery and what to expect.

The office staff is outstanding!! Becky Debbie Arysia I can't even remember all their names. Even the nurse Mary doing my pre-op was patient! I am a baby.

Dr. English explained everything in detail as well as the office staff. Risks, aftercare etc.

When I have my surgery next week I will update this information. As of this moment everything has been great.

My first impression about Dr. English was quiet and reserved but in a personal way. He gave you his undivided attention and extremely gentle physically & emotionally. He gives you the facts about your pre-op work and the surgery and stress the importance of following instructions. The staff was extremely helpfull and excited for me and my decision to go through with the surgery. Dr. English, is a gem and highly reccommended as is Dr. Carrasquilla. So those of you in the South Florida area do give them a call they really care about your well-being. They are adimate about you making your appointments and being consistant. Dr. English address the risks of the surgery in a manner that doesn't scare you. He is extremely calm and confident so that makes you feel at ease. I rate him a 9 because I haven't had the surgery yet but I'm looking forward to my re-birth. I prefer both but if I had to choose it would most diffintely be SURGICAL COMPETENCE!!!

I greatly admire Dr. Wayne English and his partner Dr. Carlos Carrasquilla. My first impression was wonderful about both of them and now 8 months postop I have even more admiration for them. The two people that handle the surgery aspect (approval, etc) were wonderful. Some of the rest of their staff leave much to be desired (billing, appt). Both docs are very personable, knowledgable and have a great bedside manner. They are both very compassionate, know you by name!! Yes they have an aftercare program. Upfront about the pros and cons of surgery. I would rate him overall a 10+++++++ and then some.

Both surgical competence and bedside manner are equally important and both these surgeons have both qualities.

I HAVE NEVER MET A MORE KIND AND CARING DOCTOR THAN DR.ENGLISH. AND HE IS ONE OF THE NICEST PEOPLE. JUST TALK TO HIM ONCE AND YOU CAN JUST TELL HE CARES ABOUT EVERY ONE OF HIS PATIENTS AS FOR COMPETENCE ITS THE BEST HE WILL ALWAYS BE A 10 IN MY BOOK.

I met Dr. Carrasquilla for the first time on Thursday. He is very thorough, caring and professional. His office staff are the best. There is not one thing I didn't like about Dr. Carrasquilla or his staff. He gives you the full story, good and bad. I would rate Dr. Carrasquilla and his office staff 10.
Because of scheduling, I am going to have surgery with Dr. English. He is Dr.Carrasquilla's partner. I have heard wonderful things about him. I will be meeting him next week when I go in for my Pre-ops.
Her I am now with just two weeks to go before my surgery. I met with Dr. English for my pre-ops. I will go along with all of the other comments I have read regarding him. He is fantastic. Very caring. You can see the caring in his face, before he even says a word. He did go over the unthinkable, plus the benefits of the surgery. One thing he did say that summed it all up (his words)"I have the easy part, the rest is up to you" How profound a statement. It is true, he is giving me a tool to use, it's up to me to use it as it is intended. I would rate Dr. English on a scale of 1-10 a 10+

I attended the seminar on July 5th,with my friend GIGI and i must tell you that my first imprression of the doctor and his staff was a good one,they were very personable and answered questions before during and after the session,I recommend them very highly.The office staff is very friendly,although one person in particular can work on her bedside manner.After care is stressed very much on the importance of knowing your body and when something doesn't feel right to act on it right away.

The only negative thing I have to say would be,this consultation process could be a bit more structured than what it is,it was for the most part boring and very repetative,I mean after attending the seminar and getting all the info I needed,I had had already done research on my own and then to have to go to the seminar and get the same stuff from a 1 hour video and from the surgeon himself for another 45 mins just seemed a bit much to me but other than that I am happy with my choice.
