I was really scared and nervous about meeting a new doctor. I have been with my primary dr for several years and doctors have always made me nervous. The fact that Dr. F's office was in a HUGE and confusing hospital didnt help my nerves any! He was rather prompt for the appointment which impressed me and he made me feel very comfortable right from the start. He and his PA both spoke to me about the dangers and all that I can expect. With everything I have looked up and studied, and gotten from friends and family members who have had the surgery, I feel I am more informed than most people at this stage. I'm a little scared but I know that this is the best decision for me.

1)AT FIRST HE WAS FINE. 2)ONCE I WAS IN STEP DOWN HIS BEDSIDE MANOR CHANGED AT LEAST IN MY OPINION, HE SEEMED ONLY INTERESTED IN GETTING ME OUT OF THE HOSPITAL, AGIN ONLY MY OPINION 3)THE PREP STAFF WERE GREAT THE NURSING STAFF ON THE FLOOR NOT SO, THEY HAD NO TIME, THEY WERE TOO BUSY WITH OTHER PATIENCE IT SEEMED 4)HE HAD NO PATIENCE. 5)EXACTLY AS I JUST SAID, HE HAD NO PATIENCE WITH ME AT LEAST.5)I NEVER HEARD FROM HIM OR HIS STAFF AFTER LEAVING THE HOSPITAL. 7)NO ONE CALLED IN 2004 I CAN'T ANSWER FOR NOW. 8) HE DID NOT EXPLAIN THE RISKS DR, GOLDEN DID. 9)I WOULD RATE HIM AT 5 OUT OF 10. 10)BOTH ARE MOST IMPORTANT IN MY OPINION.rnI DON'T KNOW ABOUT HIS SURGICAL COMPETENCE. I AM NOW 5 YEARS OUT AND HAVE GAINED 40 LBS BACK. I DON'T BLAME HIM FOR THIS, HOWEVER, I WISH I KNEW HOW TO HANDLE IT. IT IS SO DEPRESSING. I HAVE A CONSULT ON JUNE 17TH I HOPE SOMEONE CAN HELP ME TURN THIS AROUND OR MAYBE MY SURGERY FAILED ON SOME LEVEL. I JUST DON'T KNOW. I JUST KNOW THAT I DESPERATLEY NEED HELP AND I THINK MY FIRST STEP IS WITH HIS STAFF.

FIRST IMPRESSION WAS VERY KNOWLEDGABLE.rnTHE OFFICE STAFF IS VERY PROFESIONAL.rnI WOULD RECOMMEND DR. MCNATT TO ANYONE.rnGREAT DOCTOR!

My surgeon, Dr. Fuzz (or Elvis, as I affectionately call him)is very approachable, personable and just a great physician. He surrounds himself with a great staff that seem to have the same qualities and high standards as he does.rnMy aftercare has been consistent and excellent in all areas. It is very structured but everyone is available if needed. rnrnFuture patients should know that Dr. Fuzz and his staff will take care of them and provide them with the best care possible. I could not have asked for a more thoughtful, caring team to take care of me. rnrnI rate Dr. Fuzz and his team a perfect 10!rnrnDisclaimer ~ I am not an \"Elvis\" groupie!LOL!rn(inside joke)rn

Dr. Adolfo \"Fuzz\" Fernandez and his team at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center, Winston-Salem, NC are the best medical team I have ever encountered! The entire process from start to surgery to follow-up has been thorough and professional. I HIGHLY recommend them to anyone considering weight loss surgery in the Piedmont Triad area. What can I say about this remarkable person. Aside from having a WONDERFUL bedside manner and being charming - Dr. Fuzz knows his stuff. His staff is amazing and top notch. They assisted me every step of the way and made the process from inquiring to surgery - as easy for me as possible.rnrnI had a wonderful experience to be interviewed by the local news with Dr. Fuzz and they also came into the surgery and taped part of that too. Like Dr. Fuzz, I am excited to offer any support or motivation I can to those who are scared or unsure of their next step in weight loss.rnrnI can't choose what is better because Dr. Fuzz is the whole package - he is competent and polite and just a down to earth person who cares! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND FUZZ!! I am his biggest fan!

Dr. Fernandez is very warm and understanding and I have the greatest respect for him as a surgeon. His program is very well established and has great follow up with the psychiatrist and the nutritionist. Both surgical competence and bedside manner are superb. He even called me the day after my surgery to see how I was doing. The only pitfall is that he is obviously very busy and the only surgeon who does the surgery at the Hospital and I wish that I would have had more time to talk with him. If his bedside manner was not as good as it was, him being in a rush would have turned me off in a big way. This is a huge decision/life altering surgery and patients deserve and need alot of attention throughout the process. His staff is wonderful and that also helps make up for his rush.

My surgeon Adolfo Fernandez best known by his staff & patients as FUZZ is a wonderful man, surgeon, dr, etc. The first time I saw him was at a support group mtg I attended with a friend who had RNY by Fuzz, I thought gosh he looks really young but man he's good looking. Then when he talked & answered questions I realized how intelligent he was & that he really knew his stuff when it came to WLS. He has always been very nice when I've seen him. He came in the \"holding\" room before my surgery & talked a while to me, my momma, Ma & my bff Becca. Becca took a pic of me & him~gotta figure out how to get it downloaded so you all can see him too. His nurse Elizabeth is one of my favorite ppl that I've dealt with. She is sooooo sweet & just down to earth. Also, Jeff the psychologist & Amber the nutritionist are very good at what they do. The aftercare program they offer & how they make sure you understand what you have to do & need to do to succeed is awesome. They are all there & willing to help at any time. Everyone I've had to deal with~Fuzz, Elizabeth, Amber, Jeff, other hospital staff, EVERYBODY~has been great to me & I truly believe it was b/c of their care & concern for me that made my whole preop, surgery, hospital stay & now post op so easy for me to deal with. I can't say enough how great Fuzz & his staff are. I would recommend & do recommend him to anyone that has asked or may ask about a WLS surgeon

Fuzz is a very pleasant man. I have nothing negative to say. His program is a group approach, with a psychiatrist & nutritionist.
