Dr. Schulte is wonderful. He is very caring and concerned about his pts. His office staff is great; very friendly. There is no structured aftercare program except office visits to see him.
He answered all my questions pre-op and post-op. He never rushes with you. He does work at a teaching hospital so has a team with him when he sees you as an inpatient. I was/am very
pleased with Dr. Schulte and the hospital/office staff.
I have to agree that Schulte spends a lot of time with you, and answers your concerns and questions. He explained everything well, to myself as well as my wife. He did explain, almost emphasized, the risks...as well as the benefits.
I think his well-paced demeanor comes from his experience as a surgeon and underscores his thoroughness to further instill confidence. <No, he's not paying me to say this, nor am I racked up on pain killers.> Now that I'm p/o (that's post-op...not pissed off), I have to add he's also an artist. My scar'll be gone in no time. Thanks, Doc.
I met Dr Schulte for the first time on October 18th 1999. I had expected to wait for ages and the actual meeting to be over in 5 minutes. I was so plesantly surprised when I was treated better that I have ever been treated when seeing a doctor. The staff made me feel great, the student doctor was wonderful. Then when the doctor came in I was so happy that he really wanted to hear what I had to say! Most times the doctors just blow you off, it is like you are only there to make them a buck!
Dr Schulte took the time to draw me a diagram of the surgery, explain the surgery and the pros and cons. Talked about what would happen over the next two years, and answer all the questions I had. In my personal opinion I was very pleased that this is my doctor and I now have a lot of confidence in him.
My next steps are to see the psychiatris and the diatician. After that I go back for a workup with Dr Schulte. I guess that will be the time when we find out when the surgery will be.
