Dr. Jones is terrific. He can be a little abrupt in his manner, but I figure that's because he's extremely busy. He did an excellent job on my VSG, and has been helpful post surgery as well.

At frist i was kind of truned off by Dr Jones he spent about 5 mins with me at my pre opt becuse he fell behind and the person in front of me was a Dr and he had a text book full of questions that Dr Jones spent an hour answering. I met his fellow who i had lots and lots time with and do not relly like him. At my sugery Dr jones right before and we did talk he asked me how i felt and i said hiungry he laughed and said that means you did the pre opt deit right. In the Or he told me everything would be okay. I was in the hospital for an extra days and he would often make commits about things he wanted done for me but then he never cheek his fellow to make sure they were done. However when i ran into complation at home he was the best. He knew just want to do and how to keep me home.

As for the rest of the staff i can not say enough great things about them. They been there for me though think and think though evey one of my stupid mistakes and every one of my sucesses. they answered my stupid question and answer my wise ones. I had an exprinces at another hospital with there barritc deprement as an emencey but i found the staff at BIDMC much more there for there for and more wiling to help us out

I can't forget to mention Dr. Park, the resident for my surgery, and my care nurse, Cathy, after surgery. Both great!

Dr. Jones has most likely saved my life. I underwent gastric bypass surgery last week. At the beginning of the surgery, they discovered a tumor about the size of a pea on my stomach that was quickly determined to be cancer. He removed it and performed a partial gastrectomy in hopes to get it all. The final pathology report will be ready in a few days to confirm it was completely removed. This type of cancer is virtually undetectable until it is likely too late. Were it not for his extensive experience in bariatric surgeries, I think it would have gone unnoticed.

As far as the WLS process, I can't say enough. The team is awesome. I never felt hurried or had to wait. They honestly care about your well being and getting the best results. Elaine Canty, the program nurse was great. I have called a couple times and emailed Dr. Jones with questions. He has answered the calls and emails himself...not his assistant, but himself. Unheard of !!!!

The care in the hospital was very good. i have no complaints. They responded quickly to my needs. My O2 saturation tended to plummet when i walked. i will never forget getting up to walk and having 2 nurses come running in response to the alarm the sensor raised!

I am early post-op so will update down the road.

DO NOT get surgery here . I developed narrowing of the connection between my pouch and intestine. Was admitted multiple times for vomiting. Lost ton of weight through dehydration.
I was told this is because of stapler circular

Dr. Jones did my surgery and he (and the entire team) at BIDMC were wonderful! He is a very straightforward doctor and explains everything as thorough as possible. He can be short at times but I assume that is simply due to the fact that he is a very busy individual and...it didn't bother me at all as his job was to perform my surgery and that's exactly what he did. I thank him and his team for all they've done for me and continue to do for me since surgery! I would highly recommend Dr. Jones and the bariatric program at BIDMC.

Wow - is this the same Daniel Jones that performed my Rny in June 2008? He came to me so highly recommended, and I have found very little to commend about him. I never saw him post surgery and I was in the hospital for 4 days. He has rescheduled follow up sessions numerous times and is often so late, that I end up staying in the clinic for over 2 hours for a 15 minute appointment. He is aggressive, insensitive and unresponsive. Although he is just a surgeon, he seems not to take responsibility for the potential that he did not do a good job on my RnY and the medical results that have not worked as they were supposed to - - namely, no "dumping", minimal malabsorption and very unsatisfactory weight loss.

If someone were to look into this type of surgery, I would not recommend Dr. Jones.

Dr. Jones bedside manner is excellent,He is funny and made me feel very comfortable when I met him. He has performed numerous surgeries and I feel comfortable with my choice to have selected him as my surgeon. The staff is amazing and they all care about you succeeding with every step you take.

Dr. Jones has a wonderfull sense of humor. He is real, he understands and can relate. He refrains from judgement. He gives you all the time you need. I have not felt rushed by anyone of his staff, or by him. Beth Israel is a wonderful location. The program is well structured and information is provided well in advance. I highly recommend both him and his team. I will post an update after surgery.
