His office staff were all fantastic. They were all very well informed and could answer any of my questions. His nurse was an absolute delight and I felt like a family member. Dr. Naaman was friendly and very confident. I was originally told by Dr. Jaykomour (spelling?) that I would have to have my surgery OPEN. Of course the hospital he operates from doesn't offer laproscopic. Dr. Naaman didn't hesitate in saying that he completely disagreed and felt completely confident in the laproscopic procedure. He was very clear in what was required by me for this to be a success. He stressed walking, drinking (water and gatorade) and walking some more. He always had a ready smile and a sense of humor. I told him right off the bat that I have been researching this surgery for over a year so he didn't take any time with explaining risks. I would highly recommend Dr. Naaman.

I met with Dr Naaman yesterday, July 19 to discuss the possibility of WLS and found him to be very down to earth and pleasant. He answered most all of my questions, though he did seem a little rushed.
His office staff is a mixed bag however.
His office manager is extremely nice as is the surgery scheduler. His nurse however, could use a course in telephone courtesy, but maybe it was just a bad day for her as well.
As stated in previous posts he does stress walking for at least 30 minutes a day after surgery and vitamins for life.
He doesn't have a structured aftercare program like Neweigh, but my wife had surgery through them and I am always welcome in their meetings.
So far I am very pleased with my choice of Dr Naaman to be my surgeon.

My first impression of Dr. Naaman was a positive one. He was very quiet and listened as if he had heard what i had to say 100 times before...which I'm sure he had. Then he was very informative in a brief way and he wished me luck with my insurance. His office staff was very helpful and very kind. i have my pre-op appointment with him next week, the day before my surgery and i will hopefully get more information from him at that time.

My first impression of my surgeon was he is very intelligent and skilled..he was very kind to me and listened to all my questions and answered each one..His office staff is awesome and i just love bernice the office manager what a sweetie..I had surgery june 7,2002..Dr.Naaman is excellent and has wonderful bedside manner..He is very concerned about his patients..I just love him..hes great..

Today, 043002 I met Dr.Naaman...It's like night and day from Neweigh. He has so much information and very confident in his abilities! I really liked everybody in the office and I am so glad I changed surgeons. I have always been a person to go with my first mind and it worked again in my favor! I think Dr.Naaman is the best! Now, I am 1 week post op and Dr.Naaman was great to have as my surgeon. He came to see me before the surgery then afterwards. My drain tube was painful in my side and he allowed me to come in on the day I called and removed it. His staff is very attentive as he is and I think I made the best choice possible.

6-2-02--I went to my appointment at the first of May and he was AWSOME!! So friendly, and knowledgable. He made me feel very at ease with everything, and was very clear on the mechanics of the procedure, and what to expect post op. He spoke to me about walking post op, very important...and put my mind at ease on myths that I thought were fact....He made me feel like I was going to be ok, and that he knew exactly what he was talking about. I am scheduled for my pre-op in a week and then surgery the following week...wow...it happened so fast. Anyway...To anyone who is contemplating having him do the surgery I found him to be very pleasant and extremely professional as well as his staff.
4-23-02--I have not met Dr. Naaman yet, although have spoken with Bernie and got my first appointment with him on 5-2-02 Wow!! So I have been working like a mad woman trying to get all my medical records in order, and all sent to me before that date. I visited my PCP office on Monday to drop off (personally) a request for my medical records to be sent to Dr. Naaman, and a letter from him recommending I have the surgery...so please, please, please pray for me that he comes through!!...I will update further after my first visit. Talk to everyone soon :)
God Bless and pray for me that everyone comes through with my requests... :)

He was very to the point but he seems to care alot. The office staff is nice especially the nurse she is so helpful and always returns your calls!!He doesn't like to talk to long though and it makes me feel like I have to remember everything and get thru as quick as posible but I understand time is money. He was very good in the surgery I have not had nay problems and I can go in any tme I feel I need to.He doesn't have a structured aftercare program. He is very careful about risks he had me stay by the hospital til he knew I was ok to go home since I live an hour away. And took me in imediantly when I needed to the 3rd day(It wasn't serious)I would recomend him to anyone.Hewas great surgically and all I just wish they had a program for after care.

I met with Dr. Naaman in early May and had a very positive experience. He was open to any and all of my many questions and gave a lot of information to me about what to expect. I'd spent quite a while already researching him and meeting his patients online so I felt comfortable with his abilities before I even considered going so far as an office visit. He has the most kind and helpful staff. They seemed very sensitive to my feelings and were very helpful when I found it difficult to get a doctor's letter. As far as the aftercare he described, it consisted with the technical post operative minimum requirements... although nothing related to the socio-emotional factors that we will probably experience. His aftercare was mainly diet expectations and exercise. I however, would like to chair a support group (I'm a professional counselor) for pre and post op patients when I'm done with my weight loss. I would like to wait and give my overall rating until after my 3-month visit. I still am awaiting insurance approval. Will update more after I get a surgery date.
