Adam Naaman Bariatric Surgeon M.D.,F.A.C.S.

Dr. Naaman is a kind and competent man. His staff is wonderful and will answer al yiour questions. Dr. Naaman tends to be quiet but is very willing to answer questions.He insists that all patients remain in Houston for a week to be sure everything is fine. His after care program is minimal, but he does a great job of addressing the risks of surgery. Dr Naaman is very compent and cares about his patients. He insists on doing all his on visits even on the weekend and will not pass you off to another doctor on call. I do wish I had been given more details at the time of my visit - such as: how and when to schedule the blood work for pre-op, what to eat or drink before surgery, etc. I understand that the hospital will call me with all these details, but I like to know right away.

I finally met Dr.Naaman and his staffs.He was very nice! He didn't take long time but didn't rush me either.I was told what the risks were. I think he is a very good doctor. The staffs were great too,especially Amanda! She knows what she is going!! Pam is a very good nurse and adds to the relaxed atmosphere.They are a very professional group.I'm more sure than ever to do this surgery!

Very, nice and knowledge surgeon. His office and staff was very nice and friendly.

I wih he would have given a clearer picture of the nutriential part. I would like some specific What to eat/What not to eat papers.

I feel an aftercare program is essential. I really feel lost and use this line as my sole support.

As a surgeon I would give him high marks.

I have my first appointment with Dr. Naaman on December 6, 2001. I haven't met him yet, but his office staff is very nice. Professional, to the point, but nice! I call (TOO MUCH PROBALLY) and they always return my call promptly! I'll update more after my visit.
12/06/01 - I meet Dr. Naaman and his staff today. They are AWESOME! Dr. Naaman, Thersea, Pam, Amanda and Bernie! Yes, I meet them all and each spoke to me at length and made me feel very comfortable. Dr. Naaman is a very nice and explained entire procedure to both my friend and myself. Then he examined me and answered all of my questions. I truely belive that he would have stayed in that room answering my questions all day if I asked him to. I can't say enough about how wonderful his staff is. I'm a nurse and I rarely see a group of people that work so hard for patients. Trust me your in good hands. I'll post again after surgery. Shana:)

I met with Dr. Spivak, first at his oreintation given at SJMH,then later at his office. He was very nice and explained the surgery in detail. We wacthed a video and met patients that had already undergone the Adjustable Lab Band Surgery. At my appointment I didn't have to wait at all. He reveiwed my questionare and discussed the surgery with me. After that he examined me and said that I was a good canidate and that they'd submit my request to Cigna. Later I found out that Cigna denied my request for the Adjustable band, but approved me for VGB or RNY. I was disappointed that Dr. Spivak was no longer performing any other WLS. Their insurance lady didn't even call me to tell me what my insurance company said and when I called her, she didn't belive that an appeal would help. I will however say that Michelle was very freindly and copied my records to give to my new surgeon. Overall, everyone was helpful and professional. I would reccomend Dr. Spivak to anyone thinking of having the Adjustable Lap Band WLS.

I have not met Dr.Naaman yet, my first consultation is scheduled for Oct 16,2001. I am soo excited to get this going. I have spoken with Bernice several times and she is the best. She really is very helpful. Once I have my consult, I will update further. Well, it is 10/22/01 and I had my first consult today. Dr. Naaman was very nice and took time to answer all my questions and explain the proceedure to me. His office staff is exceptional!! They are all nice and very efficient. Everyone there makes you feel good and does not look down on you at all! I would recommend him to anyone.
11/16/01 Well, Amanda at Dr. Naaman's office does not play around!!!!! BCBS sent a letter saying that they were not a network provider and that they would pay 80%. Well, I conferenced BCBS in with Amanda, and let me tell you, she got it fixed!Dr. Naaman is a PPO provider and I am now covered at 100%! She was battling for me and I appreciate it! Thank you Amanda! Dr. Naaman has the best staff around!

Well, so far I have only met him once and he seemed very nice, skilled,and professional. The only thing that he does not have is an aftercare program, but we are welcome to call anytime with questions. Another thing, that he does not believe in the protein drinks. He addresses the risks of the surgery very well. I would rate him 10+. And Now, for his staff, they are wonderful, especially Bernice and Pam and Amanda. They make sure to return your calls back right away. They go out of their way to make sure that you get approved and a surgery date right away. I would also rate them a 10+.

Dr. Naaman has excellent manners. Bernice is the office manager and she is very thorough.Amanda, the scheduler can be abrasive but, she gets the job done. Pam is a very good nurse and adds to the relaxed atmosphere. They are a very professional group. He does not have an organized after care group but, stresses what is required after surgery. I was told what the risks were. I think he is a very good doctor. I feel that Surgical Competence is far greater than bedside manners. However, both are great.

Adam Naaman did a fantastic job in surgery. He has a terrific office staff, I think I built more repoir with Ms Pam. I really have no complaints about Dr. Adam Naaman. Only thing is that I was so depressed after surgery that I felt like I was not ready to go back to work. He pressured me to go back. He said that I will feel better, if I go back to work. Well, I felt like he was not in tune with what I was telling him. I went back to work, it was a hard two weeks of my life. I did not feel like a human being at all. And NO, I could not focus on my duties on my job. Other than that, everything went fine as I had prayed about it.
