I thought Dr O was extremely professional. He encourages you to ask questions, and his bedside manner is excellent. The office staff is great. They handled everything with my insurance. They really stress aftercare there. They even make you pre-pay for a 12 week post-op nutrition course before surgery. They also make sure you are well educated on the risks vs the benefits of the surgery. You have to take a written test before surgery. The test isn't hard if you've been paying attention at all! I would definitely recommend Dr O to anyone. He is great.

I MET DR. ONOPCHENKO FACE TO FACE JAN. 20, 2 DAYS AGO. I STUDIED HIS CREDENTIALS. I WENT TO HIS SEMINAR LAST MONTH. ON JAN 20 I HAD MY CONSULTATION. I WAS A LITTLE NERVOUS, BUT HE WAS CALM AND REASSURING...AND FUNNY AT THE APPROPRIATE TIMES. THE PATIENTS IN THE WAITING ROOM WERE HAPPY WITH THEIR RESULTS. NO ONE HAD ANY NEGATIVE COMMENTS. THE OFFICE STAFF WAS NICE. THE RECEPTIONIST SEEMED KIND OF DISORGANIZED, BUT ALL IN ALL, THIS FIRST EXPERIENCE WAS A POSITIVE ONE. THE SEMINAR WAS THOROUGH, SO I WAS PREPARED FOR THE CONSULTATION. DR. ONOPCHENKO'S PRE-OP REQUIREMENTS ARE CLEAR...I HAVE ALOT OF TESTS AND SPECIALISTS TO SEE...AND 6 NUTRITIONAL CLASSES AND 2 SUPPORT GROUP MEETINGS TO ATTEND. I AM CONFIDENT I PICKED THE MAN FOR THE JOB!

Very calm, explained everything thoroughly great bedside manner. Over time, I began to like and respect him even more. The office staff was wonderful, from the receptionist, to Lori his nurse (who had the surgery performed by Dr O and lost 150 lbs.) to his insurance people---all were great. The only thing I don't like is now that he is SO busy, sometimes there is a long wait in his office. The aftercare program is a good one. He did address all the risks of surgery with me very carefully. After being in healthcare for 16 years, I can appreciate what this surgeon does and how good he is at his job. I highly recommend him.

My first impression of Dr.O was very good. He is a very kind compassionate man who cares about his patients. I would reccomend him to anyone intrested in this surgery. Dr. O's staff is wonderful. They are always there to answer any questions and they are very pleasant. Dr.O is very serious about how well you follow his instructions because he only wants the best and safest results for you. I would rate Dr.O from 1-10 a big 10! i could not find anything wrong about the man. So sue me!

My first inpression of Dr. O was that he had all the information that I needed to have this surgery, the risks, the strutured aftercare program. Over time my impression did not change about Dr. O if anything I'm greatful that I was able to have him as my surgeon. His office staff was very helpful Kathy, Doreen and Lori are the best I can only say great things about them. Dr. O surgical competence and bedside manner are both great. Thanks Dr. O for giving me a great tool to work with..

My 25yr old daughter was one of Dr O's first patients when he came back from California.Alot has changed over the past 2yrs in procedures and requirements,but his professionalism and caring for his patients has not.His office staff are the best by far.I know of many people who have had the surgery by Dr O and some who have not used him by far Dr O's patients do better.....He has set up a program to guide us through this surgery for not just the first year when all do well it after when were taught how to make correct choices.As he always said this surgery is just a tool..How would I rate him A plus plus and I haven't had my surgery yet I have complete confindence by watching him with my daughter....

I liked him... he spoke very well, I understood his lecture. He didn't speak in Dr terms:-)
My impression of him is getting better, he takes his time to speak to me and the office help can't get any better:-)Thanks to Kathy who took care of my insurance. I am very impressed how well everything is going.
He is very honest, and will tell you as it is. maybe that's good but....

I was extremely impressed with how candid Dr O was will all his information. I expected just a "sales" seminar, but was gratefully wrong. I am extremely happy with how comfortable my mother was ( no matter how old you are, your mom always worries! lol ) with Dr O and the info he supplied.
I felt very comfortable at my first appt. with him for an exam. He answered all my questions without hesitation. His staff could not have been more informative including giving me tips on scheduling all my testing!
Dr O and his staff make sure you are FULLY prepared for your new lifestyle well before you even schedule your surgery and continue with aftercare ( I have as good friend who is 9 weeks post op)
The only negative I have experienced was not in any way with Dr O, it was with one of the doctors for my pre surgery testing.

I have already accomponied a few other friends to support group meetings and seminars so that they can make their own informed choice. So far so good with my choice of Dr O

I am extremely excited about starting my new life and being the happy healthy person I used to be, with the help of Dr O and his staff! : )
