I love this man. He performed a hernia operation on me in 1998 and his bedside manner is tremendous. Was so excited that he is now the surgeon who performs the gastric bypass here in town.rnrnHis kind manner is just one of the great things about Dr. Bright. His office staff is awesome (thanks Carol). And he truly cares about his patients.

Dr. Bright is a very down to earth guy. rnHe didn't seem old enough to be a surgeon, but that just shows how old I am getting......rnHis staff was/is great and helpful.rnBoth his surgical competence and bedside manner were good. You can tell that he likes the challange of before surgery, more than the after stuff, but is still very good at all of it.

I just want to say that Dr. Bright was wonderful. My first impression was that \"he sure is young\" but I guess the older we get the younger everyone else looks! lolrnrnHe and his staff are a \"Center of Excellence\" now which is VERY important when choosing a surgeon. One of the things I liked most is he was very down to earth. He sat and talked to us very comfortably and never had an attitude like some doctor's do now days. He was just great. He loves what he does and is very good at it. I believe he gets just as much joy in watching his patients succeed as we get our selves. rnrnThe support group that meets once a month at the Rockwood clinic is also wonderful. It is very informative and answers all the questions you may have, before and after surgery.rn

Dr. Bright was wonderful. He was really concerned for me due to the issue with my gallbladder, the kidney was leaking into my adomanal ( misspelled probably ). He did everything to his best ability, and I am very pleased with it. I did feel that sometimes he didn't look me in the eyes direct, but I knew he cared by the end of my stay, and I really started feeling comfortable. That was the only negative thing I have to say about Dr. Bright. I will recommend him to anyone who may ask who is a good surgeon for the WLS , Great Hospital staff. and Rockwood Clinic is always there for me. Thank you everyone invalved in my WLS, and the beginning of a new life for me...

I met with Dr Bright for my consult on 9/16/02. I was very impressed. He is easy to talk to, he spent about an hour with me, answered my questions, went over my history and asked me questions. He told me that a 110 pound weight loss is NOT impossible! I am psyched! I was impressed with the way he explained what the surgery entails, not that I didn't already know it, I have researched this for over year. I feel VERY comfortable with him. We are now waiting for insurance approval.

'Who would think that I would actually be writing a review concerning my surgery....Goodness I really hope you are reading this Dr. Bright. While I often say I would never have the surgery again (which is so very true) I couldn't have asked for a better surgeon or staff as I found in your office. Connie is flipping awesome! My job requires me to be at the hospital on many occasions. Yup still having anxiety attacks even looking at Sacred Heart

My first impressions of Dr. Bright were positive. He is very knowlegeable and understanding, taking the time to explain the procudure to you (with drawings) and answer any and all questions you might have. So far, my impressions of him have not changed and I do not feel they will. There was a bit of a scheduling issue with my surgery because the OR at the hospital was not informed that I was coming. Dr. Bright only had one surgery scheduled for that day, and it was not me! The hospital did not have me listed as a future surgical patient either. It was 5:30 a.m. and Dr. Bright came down to the hospital, found an OR for that morning and cancelled his plans of an afternoon off so that I could have my surgery as we had planned. I was so grateful to him, it is hard to explain because it took a lot of courage to make this choice, as I am sure you all know, and I am not sure how I would have held up if I had had to come again.

The office staff is great as well. Everyone is polite, respectful, and they take you and your concerns seriously. According to them, there are no dumb questions and that made me feel good because I had many!

I do not think there is a thing that I do not like about Dr. Bright. I think I may even have developed a 'stockholm syndrome' for him! I think he is absolutely wonderful and I look forward to seeing him.

Future patients should feel confident in their decision to have him as their surgeon. He likes what he does and he does it extremely well. Know that he will treat you with kindness and respect.

He stresses aftercare because that is what will help us improve our life and lifestyles. He wants his patients to develop new habits that will last a lifetime and keep them fit and healthy.

There is a specific after care program that is to be followed. First two weeks out is full liquids which includes all liquids, except soda or anything fizzy, puddings, soups without chunks in it (mainly broth), sugar free yogurts, baby foods, etc. After that phase you move to soft foods for approx. six weeks. Here he suggests that you add some more texture like that of a scrambled egg or cottage cheese. He says if you can puree the big chunks out of it, try it. He also suggests you stay away from red meat, especially ground beef, because it is harder to digest and you can cause scarring to your pouch and intestine connection. Any canned fruits and veggies are ok too, he just emphasizes chewing really, really well.

Dr. Bright does go over the risks of surgery. It is required that each client go to a group orientation meeting the month prior to scheduling a consultation. Here, he addresses any and all problems/risks that come along with the surgery and opens to floor to questions thay anyone might have.

I would rate him at the top of the list. He is an excellent surgeon and I would recommend him to anyone. He is a perfect 10 on my scale!

He is perfect at both. He is completely competent and his bedside manner was excellent. I felt like I was his only patient and that made the decision and procedure that much easier.

Dr. Bright is an excellent surgeon. He was not condensending about my obesity. He did not try to rush me into surgery. He is concise in his description of what will happen before, during and after surgery. He answered all questions. I would recommend him to anyone in the Sokane area seeking this type of surgery.

Dr Bright is wonderful! He gave me his full attention during my consult and was impressed by how well informed I was from all of my research. When I left his office I knew I had picked the right surgeon and I fully trust him to take care of me. I could not think of a better doctor to start this journey with. He is compassionate and we shared some laughs during my consult. The office staff has been really helpful in advising me of what paperwork needed to be gathered from my PCP to speed the insurance approval along. After surgical care was explained to me fully. With Dr Birght I will not have to determine if bedside manner or surgical competence is better because I will have both! It is hard to get an appointment with Dr Bright because he is so busy and I did have my appointment cancelled once because of an emergency, however it was very much worth the wait to see him.
