I met with fine people at Neweigh today and finally met with Dr. Alanis. What a great guy he is. Very down to earth with a great sense of humor. A straight shooter when it comes to your health and what it will take to get the job done. I am very confident I have chosen the right Doctor to perform my surgery and get me on the losing side. The Neweigh staff is great and exciting to work with. They have a ton of knowledge to share and make you feel as if you are part of their team.
My first impression of him is that he is a busy man, but really experienced and knowledgeable, and knows the precautions to take to avoid the risks with the surgery
The office staff is supremely helpful and courteous and out to help you and make this experience as good for you as possible.
The only thing I like least is that fact that he is a busy man.
Yes he does have a structured aftercare program, it is detailed in paperwork given to patients. He emphasized aftercare a lot and gave the risks if the aftecare is not proper, also, he addressed the risks one by one and told us how he will prevent the risks from occurring.
I can only give him a good rating after one meeting, I believe both surgical competence and bedside manner is best.
I really like Dr. Alanis, he is a wonderful person. He has an aftercare program with NeWeigh and all the staff is very nice.
Dr. Alanis was very considerate, he took time with each patient. Very straight forward, good bed side manner.
I went through the Neweigh Weight Loss Center and the staff was wonderful.
I have no dislikes for Dr. Alanis. The only thing I feel would have been most helpful was followup by the staff to see how I was doing with my weight loss. They seem to forget about me after the 4 week followup visit. Have never heard from them again.
I live approximately 1 hour from the closest Neweigh office and could not make their support classes. Bummer!
My first impression of Dr. Alanis was he seemed very concerned about everyone in the room and he was very informative of what was going to take place with the surgery. The staff at NeWeigh was great. I had a few disappointments at times because someone gave me incorrect information but overall they are the best. I would recommend them to everyone. Lisa is the best!!

He is very thorogh and explains everything in great detail his staff is equally as great. I recommend him to everyone I encounter considering the surgery. Awesome bedside manner and surgical competence.
One word! AWESOME!!! I have never met such a sweetheart of a man. I have known some Dr's in my life, but for the first time, Dr. Alanis lets you see that he is really in this profession because he cares about people and their health. Most Dr's do, but you can tell that they are in it for the money also. How many Dr's do you know that hand you their business card on several occasions and tell you to call with any questions and w/o hesitation? HE DOES!! He gets even better as you see him more. His eyes light up when you walk into the room because he is happy for you and they outcome. The office staff is caring, and very helpful. I would rate him as a 100 out of a possible 10! They just do not get any better, and I don't mind driving 3 1/2 hours to see him for my checkups!

MY IMPRESSION HAS NOT CHANGE HOPEFULLY IT WON'T THE OFFICE STAFF AT NEWEIGH IS GREAT AND VERY PLEASANT. WELL HE TOLD ME NOT TO GAIN ANOTHER POUND,BUT I UNDERSTAND THE CONCERNS. HE IS VERY FUNNY WHEN YOU FIRST MEET HIM AT LEAST HE WAS TOO ME I WAS VERY NERVESS WHEN I MET WITH HIM AND MY B/P WENT SKY HIGH. AND HE MADE A JOKE ABOUT IT. VERY DETAILED. WELL NEWEIGH AS WELL AS DR ALANIS HAS A PROGRAM THAT YOU MAY ATTEND AFTER THE SURGERY. AND AFTERCARE PROGRAM ON SITE. I WOULD RATE HIM 9 SO FAR. I DO NOT KNOW ABOUT HE SURGERY PART JUST YET, BUT HIS BEDSIDE MANNER IS GOOD.
When I first met Dr. Alanis my first impression could be summed up with one word, caring.
My impression never changed throughout the surgery because he proved to be a nice, well mannered doctor who truely wants his patients to succeed.
Having both surgical competence and fantastic bedside manner, Dr. Alanis is the only doctor I refer.
