Barry Seidel Bariatric Surgeon M.D.

My first impression was of a caring gentleman who understands what it is like to be big
No my first impression has not changed yet
His staff was friendly and helpful
Don't have any negative comments at this time
I think Dr. Sidel and his daughter Dr. Boyer are very competent caring doctors, would highly recommend their services
Very much so as that is part of his surgery process
I haven't had surgery yet so I cannot say
Yes he is very through about the risks that are involved in this surgery
A+ so far
I will let you know after surgery, but I bet it will be both
This from my own experiences with Dr. Sidel yours may be different...you will have to be your own judge of his services

I hven't yet met Dr. Seidel. My appointment is in the early part of June and he will be retiring atthe end of that month so there are a few problems here. Hopefly he can sen me to another Dr. if he agrees thast I should have this surgery.
5/05/01 Went to my mothers appt with her to get an idea of how Dr. Seidel is before my own appointment.. Found him to be a bit rehearsed. I was also concerned that he does not have you see a nutritionist during all of this. He said that he was the nutritionist. That he did not believe that these people knew what they were talking about. Although he did not say anything about counseling. I do see a mental health counselor already and will continue to do so during and after this process. Dr. Seidel seemed very knowledgeable and quite friendly but, not very personable? I have confidence that he will approve me for surgery when I see him in June. 7/13/01 After talking wht Dr. Seidel in my own appointment I am confident in his abilities as a surgeon but, I wish that he gave more information on his after surgery program. He doe not seem to have a structured program and leaves the major portion of the care to the individual. Although he doesn't forbid you to seek outside assistance ie nutrtion or counseling, he doesn't approve of the methods of these types of professionals in their dealings with WLS.
