Bruce Bodner Bariatric Surgeon MD, FACS

Dr. Bodner was such a nice man! I was kind of nervous going in, but once I got in there, a lot of my nerves lifted. One person on his staff was particularly nice.... unfortunaltly I forgot her name!!! But he answered the questions I had, and some that I didn't:-) It's funny how you have so many questions before you step into that little room, and once you're there, everything leaves your head:-)
He went through the steps of the proceedure, explaining all of the risks. He was very open and honest (at least I think so:-))

Dr. Bodner seemed like a decent, knowledgeable person. He let me ask all of my questions and treated me very respectfully. He was honest about his bewilderment over a patient who died post-operatively, and I respect that, as opposed to a doctor who is arrogant and acts as if the death were somehow attributable to the patient's misdeeds. I appreciated his quiet demeanor, and I like the particulars about how he performs the operation and what precautions he takes for his patients. I am comfortable with what I've seen and heard. Learning so much about the operation from this website makes all the difference!

Nov/2001 I only met with Dr.Bodner once so far and he seems very nice. His nurse was very nice as well. I was embarrassed when I got there but they both made me feel comfortable. I didn't feel comfortable with the girl in the office that did the scheduling for the blood work, ekg, etc. When she had to give a reason for the referral, she said "morbid obesity" which was okay except that she wasn't very soft spoken and it embarrassed me that others might have heard her.

Jan/2002 My next appt with Dr. Bodner is in a couple days. Hope to set a date. I'm happy to read all the nice things about him.

My surgery is set for March 8th. Dr. Bodner was very nice still. I asked about having some pictures and he said he would bring his own camera and take some pics for me. That is very nice of him!!

Met with Dr. Bodner today 8/21/01 for my initial surgical consult. First impression was neutral, gave me his "Spiel" seemed patient and willing to answer my questions. Instilled some confidence in me. Felt better after consult, beleive this is the path for me to take but I am frightened.
Mixed impressions of staff, but the nurse who was with him during the consult left a favorable impression on me.
10/30/01...Returned to meet with Dr. Bodner, answered all of my questions, my daughter had a few of her own and he answered her as well. I have complete confidence in him.

well i my case DR. Bodner seemed very caring and understanding and he listen to what i had to say and agreed that this could help me and my future health while i'm still young ..the staff was very helpful at morton .
i would rate Dr Bobner a 10

I wasn't sure what I thought of Dr. Bodner at first as he has an offbeat personality, and we just didn't seem to click. I must however say he was a saint when I was in the hospital, very caring. I would definitely recommend him to others. His office staff is kinda slow though.

INITAL SCREENING SCHEDULED FOR 4/17/01

I LIKED DR. BODNER ALMOST IMEDIDATELY...HE WAS VERY KNOWLEDGABLE ABOUT THE PROCEDURE AND DID NOT HESITATE TO ANSWER ALL OF MY QUESTIONS...RECENTLY, I SCHEADULED THE GASTRIC BYPASS SURGERY FOR MAY 25, 2001...I WOULD LIKE TO ALSO COMENT ON THE NUTRITIONIST WHO WAS VERY HELPFUL AND THE WONDERFUL STAFF OF MORTON MEDICAL..THEY ARE ALL HELPFUL AND FRIENDLY...ONE LAST NOTE ON MARYLIN MEYERS, THE PSYCHOLOGIST I WAS INSTRUCTED TO GO TO BY DR. BODNER...I WAS VERY DISSAPOINTED WITH HER TREATMENT OF ME AND HOW SHE HANDLED HERSELF--VERY UNPROFESSIONALLY...I WOULD SUGGEST TO THOSE OF YOU WHO ARE CONSIDERING THE SURGERY THROUGH DR. BODNER, TO ASK IF YOU CAN SEE AN ALTERNATE PSYCHOLOGIST, SOMEONE LESS AGGRESSIVE. I CAN'T WAIT FOR MAY 25TH TO BE HERE!

I found Dr. Bodner to be very helpful at my
consultation. He answered all my questions, and some I hadn't thought of.

He is very easy to talk with, and I found him to be very helpful when there is a problem.

I had some problems after surgery, and he sent me for tests. He was with me every step of the way. I did have to go back in the hospital, and wasn't very happy about it.
But I understand it was for the best.

His office staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. I would say overall that he is a very competant surgeon, and very friendly. Easy to talk to about any changes or concerns you may have. I was very lucky to find a Doctor who makes me feel very comfortable.

Dr. Bruce Bodner and his staff are a wonderful group of care givers. My last visit they didn't even recognise me :)
i have lost a total of 75lbs, my surgery was feb 7th this year.I am so thankful that i had such a wonderful surgeon.This has changed my life,i'm not in fear of gaining the weight back like i have in the past with other diets and weight loss.It is the best thing that has happened to me sence i had my son,22yrs ago :)
The care i have recieved is so wonderful,before and up till now.i would do it all over again,as long as i had Dr. Bodner

have had gall bladder surgery, Dr. Bodner was great.my weight has continued to drop, i was 190 in the office last week.
