My first impression of him was fine. He was softspoken and nice. I brought my 14 yr old daughter with me for support and he went out of his way to make her feel like part of the consult as well.

The office staff he has there are very nice, attentive and knowledgable A+

He did a very good job of explaining the benefits/risks of surgery... and I walked out of there with a handful of information to digest.

As far as I know, there is a support group at the hospital that meets once a month... aftercare is standard (1wk, 3wks, and continues at appropriate intervals throughout.)

He was my first consult. By reading the posts here I was a bit weary meeting him as his bedside manner was a so so... however, I found him to be attentive, soft spoken, thoughough and knowledgeable. I saw good people skills anyway.

Hospital Stay: Ok, Dr Cooper is GREAT! VERY attentive towards me in the hospital and did'nt let the nurses slack on anything! Came in everyday like clock work to make sure I was ok and made it very clear that I was to WALK WALK WALK! And he's funny too! but dosen't mess around with you making sure you are following his instructions LOL (i.e, WALK WALK WALK lol)

Well my first impression of him was dang a reproduction of my Dad. He is very informative, friendly, and outspoken!! Just what I was lookiing for!

Just home from surgery (well 2 days home) and Dr. Cooper did a great job and the staff at Enloe just rocked. I got a view of his so called no bedside manner but you know what if he didnt have any I sure and the heck didnt notice. He was just as he has always been, direct and to the point

My overall rating for Dr. Coop as the staff called him is A+++++++++++++++ Thank You Dr. Cooper

Great doctor who really cares about his patients and really wants his patients to be successful.

Over time we just grew to love and admire him even more. He is definantly on our top 5 doctors list.

Very accomodating,Friendly, a NO NON-SENSE office.

We can not come up with anything negative to say about this man. Both my son and myself have been lucky enoygh to be his patient and there just is not one thing that we can come up with!

Aftercare is very important and we had outstanding aftercare!! he and his staff were always there when needed.

very structured in my eyes. He really wants his patients to understand that weight loss surgery is not a cure all but a tool to help you loss the weight and stay healthy.

Every surgery has risks and this is a surgery that may have risks to last a lifetime. He really educates the patients, he wants to make sure thet the patient really is ready for the commitment.

On a scale of 1-10???? He is 10++++

BOTH competence and bedside manner is GREAT!

First Impression - very focused on me - making sure I knew the risks involved. Very thorough. Down to business, yet has good sense of humor.

Office staff is wonderful. Very helpful.

Nothing I disliked.

He means what he says! So do what he says!

100% emphasizes aftercare.

Yes, structured aftercare includes following the rules in his book given to you at first office visit, and follow-up appointment with nutritionist and meetings with support group and follow-up visits with him.

Very good.

Both are great.

I thought Dr Cooper was very informative about the surgery. He addressed all my concern about the surgery. My daughter went with me she was very concerned about the surgery as she works in medical. After Dr cooper finished the appointment and ask for our questions my daughter did not have any to ask as she said he had answered all her questions.
The after care Dr Cooper is very quick to emphasize that if you follow all siets in the book that he gives you you will make it good which is very true.
Dr Coopers staff is very helpful.
I would rate him a 10 in my experince.

Dr. Cooper is a VERY competent surgeon. He does not have much of a bedside manner but he really knows his stuff. He worrries over the little things so you don't have to. He does not do much aftercare that I am aware of but then, I didn't need much. Dianne in his office is absolutely wonderful. She will help you thru the whole process.
Dr. Cooper was very up front about the risks of surgery. He did, however, make it very clear to me that if I would do exactly what he told me to, I would never be fat again.
I have a wonderful figure now and I am a size 2 down from a size 20. I have no hanging skin and I feel great.

At first he was very direct and to the pointI was a little worried, then after a few visits and I got to know him I loved him. He took such great care of me in the hospital. He has been a great support for me. He answeers any questions that I my have honestly. Diane in his office is wonderful. She had my surgery authorized within a month of my surgery and schduled. There wasn't anything that I did not like about Dr. Cooper and his staff. Get to know him, don't judge him from you first consultation. At that point he is getting information and explaining the seriousness of the surgery. He totaly believes that the outcaome of your surgery has to do with how well you take care of your new stomach and listen to your body. I see Dr. Cooper every four months, he nakes sure I am excercising and taking all of my vitamins. He adressed all the risks of the surgery more than once. Overall I think he is a great and caring surgeon. I believe surgical competence is the most important, his bedside manner doesn't matter as much I don't have to take him home.

He was a little had to take to right away, but since my surgery we laugh and joke together and I trust him completely. He is very good at what he does. I had no post-op problems with the surgery. He is very good at explaining all the risks and benefits. He tells you exactly what he is going to do so there are no suprises. He is emphatic about taking all you supplements and taking care of yourself. I have check ups every 3 mos. for the first year and I don't know after that. I have a leaky heart valve and he wanted to see all my tests before he would procede with surgery. His surgical competence is best, but if you work at him his bed side manner gets better. The office staff is really wonderful and friendly.

My first meeting with Dr Cooper was wonderful. He was very caring, he explained in complete detail the surgery and the risks associated with bariatric surgery. Since my surgery was over ten years ago, Dr Cooper has done hundreds if not thousands of surgery's. His staff Diane is the most wonderful person. She understands, never treats you unkind. He found a jewel when he hired Diane. I can't say enough about Dr Cooper. His kindness, caring. I will say he doesn't mess around if your not losing weight. If your cheating he can tell, and he calls you on it.
He addressed the risks of the surgery stating you would be over night in the trauma unit, and then days on the surgery floor. I honestly can say, if he told me you can or could die, I don't remember that. However, when you've gone as many years as I did, you will do anything to lose the weight.
Dr Cooper did stress that this is only a tool, that it is not the "answer" to lifetime weight loss. You still have to work at it every day. I have!
Dr Cooper would be my first choice if I had to do this over again.

DR. Cooper is a very interesting doctor. To begin with he is a very tall man with an intimidating air about him. His manner is extremely professional but friendly. I knew what to expect from all the testimonials I had read, but I was not prepared for how nervous I would be. He asked me several questions about my medical background and then he pulled his chair up close to me as we went over his little blue procedural book. He explained the proocedure step by step and what he expected of me afterwards. He has very kind eyes and I appreciated his directness and his honesty. He tells you up front, if you follow his instructions, you will be successfull with your results. I felt very good when I left his office knowing I have made the right choice choosing him as my surgeon. His staff is wonderful. Diane is tops in her field and knows this business inside and out. She has been extremely helpfull and you always hear the smile in her voice. I highly recommend Dr. Cooper for anyone considering this surgery.
