I wasn't to crazy about Dr. Cooper when I met him but as he began to explain throughly everything to me and had even became more comfortable to tell me that he's only lost 2 patients, I began to like him and his honesty. He made me comfortable in my own skin. Well, I will keep you posted on more info after the surgery.
I havent got to go see him yet. I have spoke W/ Diane his receptionist, but at this time i am at a stand still seeing as though the insurance will not pay for any dr visits or for the surgery so i am trying to appeal. As for his receptionist she was very nice and tried to help but didnt get anywhere w/ teh insurance company.
I think Dr. Copper is one of the best physicians I have ever seen. Not only is he knowledgeable in his field he knows when to check with others. My cardiologist and pulmonologist are not in Chico, but he had one of each see me throughout my stay in the hospital to prevent complications. The man is funny and very personable to his patients. He is very particular about the care his patients receive. I highly recommend this man. I think he saved my life.
Simple and to the point sits right next to you as he goes over the procedure with you. Nice MD so far. Staff very supportive and conservative. Can seem cold but isnt.He uses the gastric bypass diet book from unversity of iowa. He refers you to dietititian after two months. is currently pushing for a bariatric program through local hospital but nothing is set yet. He is blunt about risks and covers them all. I would rate him as a great doctor who cares but only the patient will realize it and family if they are involved with the patient
Dr. Cooper is incredible. He is a southern, laid-back fisherman and an incredible surgeon.
During appointments he has been very informative and straight forward.
After my surgery, he visited me twice a day (7 am and 7 pm). He was very attentive. The hospital staff was very impressed with him. They felt he was the best of the surgeons they worked with there.
Aside from a referral to a nutritionist and occasional appointments to check up on you, there is very little aftercare.
Dr. Cooper also has a very competent ataff who are very helpful in making things happen with insurance, etc.
Dr. Coopers had been wonderful, he spends as much time as needed with you, he also expains this surgery is a tool not a total solution. His office staff is quick, kind and able to answer all my insurance type questions. I still have one more appointment prior to surgery. At this point I am not certain about his aftercare program. Dr. Cooper has explained the risks and benifts of this surgery.I don't believe I have any business rating anyone including Dr. Cooper. I don't know anything about his bedside manner, from what I have read it is very good, and he is a very kind man.
I have to say that I loved Dr. Cooper from the beginning! He explained everything about the surgery, the diet we have to follow for the first eight weeks post-op, the changes we have to make for the rest of our lives and answered ANY questions I had for him. I am very glad that he is right here in Chico where I live, but would have travelled clear across the country to have someone as skilled as him, if I needed to. And, he's got a good sense of humor. He cares about his patients a lot and does everything he possibly can to make sure you are successful with this surgery.
Diane and Nicole are wonderful and on top of things like no one else I've ever dealt with before. I had already worked with Diane via telephone during the three years I've been at Enloe in the insurance verification department and it has been a pleasure to get to know her better during the course of my surgery and recovery. She and Nicole are organized and prompt in dealing with all aspects of surgery. Dr. Cooper couldn't have anyone better working for him!
Dr. Cooper is great! He is serious yet caring. He is straight to the point and very knowledgable. Diane, his office person, is just as great! They take time out for you and I never once felt I was being a burden or rushed out of the office. I dont have any comment about what I didnt like about him, he is truely a blessing and a super surgeon! He has a diet plan booklet that he reviews with you and goes over if you have any questions. He wants you to succeed as much as you want to succeed. He reviews the risks of surgery. He makes you feel like you are in good hands. Overall I give Dr. Cooper a 9.5 out of 10.
My surgeon is great! He is to-the-point, no-nonsense and I respect that about him. Some say he is lacking in the bedside manner department, but all i really care about is his reputation for successful surgeries. His office staff is great as well, Diane is wonderful! More to come post-op.
