Charles Beall Bariatric Surgeon M.D.,F.A.C.S.

I was referred to Dr. Beall by my PCP after inquiring about the surgery. I scheduled an appointment with him, and my husband and I went to talk with him. He and his staff were both very friendly, and gave me lots of information and invited me to their support group meeting. My husband and I attended, and I was very impressed with the number of people there. All that I visited with had only nice things to say about Dr. Beall and his staff. I contacted his financial person, and she sent a letter to my insurance company. Within 3 weeks, I was notified that I had been approved, no questions asked. I called the office and visited with his nurse, and we tentatively scheduled my surgery for the week of the 24th of February. I teach first grade, and was reluctant to leave my kids, but the insurance company wanted the surgery within 90 days after approval, so we chose that week. I go to my PCP for blood work Monday to get started. Dr. Beall really impressed me, because he was also at the support meeting answering questions. He insists that after the surgery, he wants to continue to see his patients indefinately. I haven't seen him but a couple of times so far, but he seems totally committed to the success of his patients. He was realistic about how much I would play in the success of this surgery, and called it a "tool" to assist in weight loss. He was very matter of fact on the restrictions and the exercise part of the recovery. I honestly don't feel that I have seen him enough to rate him yet. I would love for my surgeon to have a good bedside manner, especially with this type of emotional surgery, but I would rather he was extremely competent. I have a wonderful support group in my family and friends, so even if he isn't wonderful, I would survive if he were competent at his surgery.
I am now nearly 5 weeks out of surgery, and Dr. Beall has been nothing short of wonderful. I had a minor infection in a small area of my incision, and have seen him several times since the hospital. He was kind and encouraging, and always has a smile and a compliment. I honestly cannot say one bad thing about him or his staff. I would highly recommend him to anyone who is interested in this surgery. I feel very lucky to have him as my surgeon.

I first heard of Dr. Beall when my insurance suggested I go to him. The Dr. my family Dr. reffered me to was not on our network. Before I could get an appointment with Dr. Beall, I had to go to a support group meeting to learn about the surgery and to meet people who had the surgery and those waiting to have the surgery. The fact that there was a support group really impressed me. I came away from that meeting wanting to have surgery the next day!!! I had my appointment with Dr. Beall in Jan. My first thought was that he was so cute!! He was very caring and concerned. He explained all about the surgery, the advantages and the risks. I feel very confident in having made the decision to have the surgery and in Dr. Beall. His nurse, Debbie is also very kind and caring. She has not minded me asking her a lot of ?????? Carolyn, the insurance person is also very kind and helpful. I can hardly wait till surgery date!!!!

I was really impress with him. He really show me how he was going to cut and explain the surgery that I could understand. If I have to have another surgery I would use him. They are all really nice and they will answer all of your question. That Dr. Beall has a wonderful bed side manner and he is one Dr. that check on his patients. He always has a smile on his face. He is a really nice doctor. He get everything you need and it don't take long to get what you need. He tell you everything about the surgery the good and the bad and he explain all of it so you can under stand. He would get a A+ from me. He is best doctor I would use him again. He was wonderful with the surgical competence and bedside manner they were both wonderful.

Dr. Beall is a truly caring doctor. He seems to know what he is doing, and he actually HAS a personality. I like that in a doctor, and I Truly believe that a personable doctor will help aid in the recovery of the surgery. This is not the only time that I have met him, he was my ER doc when I was supposed to have my gallbladder out when I was 15 (7 yrs ago), but he was not on our ins. After my surgery, he called my room to see how I was doing, and I wasn't even his patient. Along the fact the he is a wonderful man, his staff is good too. Debbie is the nicest and greatest nurse that you could ask for. I have also met Sharon, one of his surgical staff at a meeting that you are required to go to.
