I liked her immediately. The only thing that changed was that everytime I saw her, I liked her more and felt very confident with my selection. Her staff is wonderful! They treat you like they really care.

Aftercare is stressed. I have been twice so far and it's been six weeks. I go in another six weeks than six months and then one year.

She was very upfront about the various risks involved with the surgery....

I think Dr. McBride and the entire staff at the UNMC are wonderful. I would sugest them to anyone. Dr. McBride is fabulous. She is both helpful and kind. Her Nurse Melissa is a God send for me. As is her PA Christa. They aided me in making an informed decision and in getting me a surgery date. I feel like they have taken care of me as if I was a good friend or even relative. Everyone has gone above and beyond to make me feel comfortable. I did have a small issue during surgery and Dr. McBride and Christa took care of it . No questions asked and no problems. In the hospital Her chief resident and other residents took care of me. All the Nurses and the Residents and the Doctors at the hospital were wonderful. I have never had a better hospital stay.

She was the best. Started out great and as me and my three friends go through this together she is just getting closer and closer in our hearts. Melissa is the best nurse ever. That duo together cant be stopped. I would highly reccomend them to anyone.

First impression was that she was very busy.

When I hurried to get tests done and followed thru on her instructions, she took more of an interest. There were some personal issues going on in her life so that was a distraction I can understand.

Her staff is excellent and the most responsive I have ever worked with in the medical field.

She is both personable and professional and didn't treat me just as a statistic.

Aftercare is reminded each and every time I call, email or write basically by her suppost staff. I was disappointed in the help you get with diet afterwards. A few sheets from the nutritionist who didn't really seem that qualified about this type of surgery, but will get by using other resources.

Risk was explained that there is always a risk and I had a required psychological exam and okay before could proceed.

Would rate her a great surgeon.

I value her skills the most, so if she seemed a little hurried on bedside visits, I was still impressed with her surgical skills.

I went to an informative seminar that she has as the first step. So that she can give everyone any information that they need to get approved or make an educated decision whether surgery is right for them. That was in Jan 04. I had to go through 6 mos of a physician supervised diet and be on a perscription for insurance purposes. I had my intial consultation the middle of July and got approved the middle of August and having surgery Sept 28, 2004. Her office has been very helpful and quick to respond to trying to find out what the next step was. I go for my physical in a week and a half. So far they have been prompt, kind, understanding, pleasant and educated. That was very important for me. I did not want to have it done locally because I did not feel that the people here in my own town were as skilled. Dr. McBride has done over 300 wls as of Jan 04.

Corrian McBride is a great surgeon. She was warm and friendly but also very strict. She just wants the best for her patient. I chose her for that reason. She insists that you go to informatinal sessions and go through physical as well as psycological screening to be sure that this is a healthy decision.
Her nurse is very organised and will help whenever possible. She takes care of scheduling all the appointments. Sometimes, however, she takes a little while to phone back. A little frustrating, but I think that the hold ups have more to due with administration.
Dr. McBride is funny and sharp. She picks up on little things and does not recomend the surgery to anyone who walks in offof the street.
I don't know too much about the aftercare siuation.
She most certainly did address the risks of the surgery and addressed any and all questions that I had.
She told me about the various procedures in the family and respected my decision as to which I prefered.
I would rate her very high and would recomend her to anyone who is serious about the changes necessisary in order to be sucessfull.
I think that her surgical competance and bedside manner are both top notch. I do not like to be condescended to as I am fat, not stupid.
She understands this and acts accordingly.

I have seen Dr. McBride twice in this process and she seems very nice. She is very busy so as with any doctor you may feel a sense of urgency in her demeanor. My meetings were more informal basically I asked questions and she answered them. The more technical stuff was handled by Melissa Monzu her nurse coordinator, she does the business :) It does take a few days to get a call back if you have a question but nowadays when doesn't it. Melissa comforted me that Dr. McBride is very thorough and a great surgeon so I felt better not having spent much time with the doc. I think Dr. McBride will have a great bedside manner and surgical competence she seems very focused on your health. I do wish that her office would update her surgeon page on this website so we have more accurate numbers it would be nice to see how many she has done as of now and percentages of complications and things. That is really not a big deal though.

I actually havent met her yet, she was out ill when I went in for my consult. The staff at the office is wonderful.I go in for my pre-op on August 5th. The staff has gone over all the risk of surgery.I think that surgical and beside manner is very important.

I was originally scheduled and met with Dr Sorensen but after I was approved by insurance they sent me to see Dr. Mcbride because she does the laproscopic rny and that was what I really wanted.
She was very personable and competent and I had read some positive things about her on this web-site. I am happy to have her as my surgeon especially if I don't have any complications after surgery.
