My first impression of Dr.Provost was that he seems like a very well informed, very patient friendly Doctor who is good at what he does.He has a support group that meets once a month which he attends. There is also a group that meets once a month for people who want to learn more about the surgery. He did go over the risks of the surgery but at this point surgery will more than likely save my life. The office staff seems very nice, very professional employees.Dr.Provost has been really great at getting reports sent to T.R.C. in a very timely manner.I'm looking forward to having the surgery and having Dr.Provost as my surgeon. The best thing about Dr.Provost is that I feel like I can really talk to him, he makes you feel at ease and is so good at explaining the details of the procedure he even drew a picture of what will actually happen to my stomcah and small intestin. His nurse Lois is a real sweetheart who has been very helpful.

Dr. Provost is direct and does not pull any punches, he lets you know the seriousness of the decision to have WLS.
But he is also direct on the further complications from contnued morbid obesity.
At no time did he make me feel like I had done something wrong in my life to get to 400 lbs.
He is a competent, experienced surgeon who cares about his patients, his staff is great and I never have felt uncomfortable.

Of course lets see what I say after surgery!

I attended a support group meeting led by Dr. Provost and was very impressed. He seemed very knowledgable and very friendly. My first impression was very positive.

The staff were also very friendly and helpful. They made me feel very comfortable and not self-conscious at all.

Throughout this process, Dr. Provost has been wonderful. He came to see me twice a day in the hospital. His nurse, Lois, has also been very responsive to questions, etc.

Dr. Provost is very direct and can come across as aloof. At first I was disappointed, but I've come to realize that he is very caring and patient -- just direct.

Dr. Provost was very professional and knowledgeable. He told me all the pros and cons and took plenty of time to answer any questions I had. I have the highest confidence in him and his abilities.

Due to a high volume of patients, it takes a while to schedule a consultation. The office staff seems a little overwhelmed also. If you leave a message and do not hear back in 24 hours, call back!

Almost a year after my initial consultation, I emailed Dr. Provost with a couple of questions, thinking, "I wonder WHEN or IF I will get an answer to this email!" To my surprise, I got a personal answer the very next day, a Saturday!

Doctor Provost is AWESOME. The only downfall is the 4 month waiting list to get your initial consult. Doctor Provost answers ALL your questions and he is very patient. I heard he writes great letters to normally difficult insurance places and gets them to approve. We shall see! I would absolutely recommend him to anyone. His staff is great! He was very thorough about what to expect concerning risks and his after care program. Fantastic Bedside manner.

Mr doctor is Dr. David Provost at UTSW Medical center. I was referred to him by one of his colleagues that does not perform the lap procedure. He is very plesant and truly beleives in the success of his patiens. His nurse, Lois is very nice, friendly. I was well informed when I saw him, I already knew much about the surgery and what to expect afterwards. I also had met him a couple of days before at a support group meeting.

I have an appointment for my first visit with Dr. David Provost of Dallas scheduled for March 31, 2000 at 3PM. I will update this note after I meet him.

What a wonderful experience it is to work with Dr. Provost and Lois, his nurse. I showed up for my appt. early, was taken right in, Lois took my weight and vitals and we chatted a bit about the surgery. Then Dr. Provost came in. We discussed open vs. laparoscopic approach (I am having lap), diet both preop and postop, lifetime maintenance, and what to expect from the surgery. Dr. Provost was very pleasant and immediately put me at ease. I am so glad that I selected him to be my surgeon. I trust my future with him. Lois is also a great person to work with. She took my paperwork and called me to schedule my surgery within 2 weeks of my visit! What more could I ask for? :)

I had my first consultation with my surgeon yesterday and boy was I impressed. He made me feel so comfortable and I really think that he knows his stuff.

His office staff was great.

He made sure to let me know the risks and I feel comfortable with this.

Well, I am now post-op and I can say that my surgeon is a wonderful man. If anyone in Dallas is seeking a surgeon, call Dr. Provost. He really does care about his patients.

Dr. Provost is GREAT! He is a little "no-nonsense" in his approach but he is totally committed to his patients. I have felt very well taken care of by him since surgery. He is a little strict in what he wants from us after surgery...but that is for our benefit.

To any prospective patients of his: the staff at the office he works out of is well...er.....unprofessional. He works out of the general surgery department at the UT Southwestern Medical School and these people are not his employees...so he has very little control over them. He is a great surgeon and well worth the hassle of dealing with them.

He also has a support group meeting that is held on the 2nd Tuesday of every month!
