Dmitri Baranov, MD, PhD, FACS, FASMBS, DABOM is the Medical Director at Saratoga Bariatric Surgery & Weight Loss Program located in beautiful Saratoga Springs, New York. He is board-certified by the American College of Surgeons. As a native of Russia, he earned his medical degree from Saratov State Medical University and a PhD from Russian State Medical University in Moscow. He went on to complete his residency at The Brooklyn Hospital Center in New York and a fellowship in bariatric and minimally invasive surgery at Boston University Medical Center.

Dr. Baranov is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS) and the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery (FASMBS). He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Obesity Medicine (DABOM). He is a member of the Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons (SAGES) and the Society for Surgery of the Alimentary Tract (SSAT).

Under Dr. Dmitri Baranov’s leadership, the Saratoga Bariatric Surgery and Weight Loss Program at Saratoga Hospital earned the designation as a comprehensive bariatric facility. This accreditation is through the Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery Accreditation and Quality Improvement Program (MBSAQIP) and recognizes that our program meets the rigorous national standards for patient safety and bariatric care.
