I had my first appointment with Dr. Davey on 2011MAR03. He started out saying that I should have RnY. When I told him that it scared the hell out of me he was quite receptive and didn't try and force me into any decision. He then talked about the sleeve as a good second option. When I told him it was still too radical for me he took it quite well. He said that I wouldn't have as a good results with the band but he would support it if that was the way that I wanted to proceed. What a relief.

After much research and soul searching I started to feel more comfortable with VSG and asked to see him again to discuss my thoughts. He was very generous and spent time going over the pros and cons with me and made me comfortable with my decision to switch to the sleeve.

Great bedside manner. Very soft spoken and you feel like he is really listening to you.

I found Dr. Davey was very friendly and kind. He answered all the questions I had and he took the time to explain the surgery. At the Weight Wise Clinic I didn't get to chose who my surgeon was going to be, but I am happy that they booked me with Dr. Davey, as he has been with the program from the start and has done a lot of bariatric procedures.

He is very kind and very experienced and very very good at what he does. I adore the man. His staff is all great, supportive, encouraging, non-judgemental. The Bariatric Clinic at the Royal Alexandra Hospital in Edmonton. He/they insist on aftercare. I see them as often as I wish, and they check my nutritional levels and all other blood work every time I see them. They will help with psychological assistance, social work, whatever you need. rnrneverything about Dr Davey and his staff is great. I would recommend them to anyone.

Dr. Davey is a highly competent surgeon and I would definitely recommend him to anyone looking to have bariatric surgery. He is very friendly and was willing to take the time to answer all my questions. He, along with Dr. Daniel Birch, head up the Weight Wise Program at the Royal Alexandra Hospital in Edmonton, Alberta. The mandatory Weight Wise program can be a long process (approx. 1 year) but it definitely prepares you for healthy eating after surgery, and they have a great follow-up program post-surgery as well. Everyone in the Weight Wise program is wonderful and extremely helpful. I have nothing but great things to say about Dr. Davey and the Weight Wise program.

My first impression: Dr. Davey was that he was very straight forward and knowledgable, his staff is very professional.
The only draw back is travelling back and forth.
His after care was excellent, both his staff and himself addressed the risks of surgery.
I rate him a A+ and would recommend him.

I found Doctor Davey to be very understanding and caring when it came to making a decision regarding my surgery. Future patients should know that he does not just agree to surgeryn for the sake of surgery you have to be willing to make changes. The surgery is only a tool not a cure. I dont have any complaints regarding my doctor, he is very straight forth and was very honest about the risks of surgery. I would recommend him to any of my friends. I think he was awesome when I was afraid and waiting to go into surgery, he was very reassuring, I think he is a great doctor.

I liked Dr. Davey from the start. I found he was straight forward and to the point.
I find their office staff very efficient.
He has a very thorough program with dieticians ect.and a follow up program.
I waited 3 years for an appt. just to see Dr. Davey. And then back and forth appt.s to see the dietician before the surgery.
He addressed all aspects of the surgery and its risks.
I would rate him a 10/10.His surgical competence is A 1.
I would recommend him to anyone interested in RNY and lives in the Alberta Area.

Dr. Davey was a quiet man at first asked a few questions and wrote the answers down. He is a larger man himself so it gives a great relief inside to know that he may know what your going through and how you feel. Had to start a food diary, wish I could do it on computer though.

I lost 8 pounds since the first visit. I didn't get to see Dr. Davey but I got to see his diatition who I found to be an intelligent woman who doesn't intimidate you with her knowledge. She was very helpful to point out my faults with my meal plan by looking at my food diary, showed me where my improvement would help me and made me understand that it wouldn't be that difficult and it wasn't.

I went in to see Dr. Davey today and he looked over my food diary I have lost 8 pounds in 3 months. He explained to me that I could cut the protein in my diet that I don't need to have it every meal which I am very happy about which contradicts what his diatition said, and then he asked how I was feeling, wow a man asking me how I feel!!! I told him that a am a little edgey about the surguy and he said that expect to get a little more edgey because in about 10 weeks I would be going in for the surgury!!!! Yeahhhh...Holy...That soon, yep because of my great example to adapt to change and commitment!!!

I have not yet met Dr. Davey. I was referred to him by a friend who has had the surgery.

Wish me luck... I am hoping he will do a revision from VGB to RNY. My staple line started comin out almost immediately after surgery, however, my stoma did not stretch.

Dr. Nohr in Medicain Hat would not do it - he said my stoma was too small.

I just want a successful, complete surgery.
