My surgeon was Dr. Edward Mun in Boston at the Beth Israel Hospital. I have had a very good experience with both him and his staff. I had several nurses and other Dr.'s recommend him highly. My aftercare was great, I had an infection and was back in the hospital for a few days until I was sent home with visiting nurses. I was in contact with the Dr. almost every day. The surgery was explained thoroughly and in a manner that I understood everything completely. I would highly recommend Dr. Mun to anyone in the Boston area, even one of his residents that I saw in the hospital was very good. The compasion is definately there along with the professionalism.

My surgeon is Dr. Edward Mun (Boston, MA).
He is with the Center for Nutritional
Medicine at Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital.
Dr. Mun has been very thorough in explaining
every aspect of the surgery, how it will be
done and what I can expect afterwards.
He very carefully and thoroughly explained
what he was going to do and every thing that
could cause complications. He seems to be a
very kind person as well. His office staff
that I have been in touch with, Pat, is very
helpful - offering if I have even something
I think is silly, to call that's why she's
there. There's nothing that I dislike, so
far anyway. When I first met him, I thought
I would be intimidated because he is an imposing figure, but I wasn't once he began to explain that we were going to do. In the program, it is required that you attend the support group, run by the psychologist and there is a 2 year follow-up. There is post-op follow up with the whole team as well. I have met quite a few people who have had Dr. Mun do their surgery and they have nothing but great things to say. I'm very comfortable and confident about having him do my WLS.

I'm now 3 months post-op and have to say that Dr. Mun did a wonderful job! He was very caring and supportive when I was in the hospital, came in to reassure me while the anesthesiologist was preparing me for surgery and was the first one I saw when I woke up. I highly recommend him, great bedside manner. I really have nothing negative to say at all, I'm very glad I chose Dr. Mun.

Dr. Edward Mun from the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center...who works in Dr. George Blackburn's clinic for nutrition and obesity.

They are very thorough at this clinic and have weekly support group meetings....they are not mandatory...but are very helpful.

My first impression of him was he is a very caring and mild manner soft spoken gentlemen. His office coordinator is not the best. She never calls you back. I am in the process of going in and be operated on. I need it as soon as possible. I have very bad high blood pressure. The other girls in the office were wonderful.
