I felt very relaxed and comfortable with Dr. Vaughn. I never felt stupid about asking any questions and he made me feel at ease. He has a warm manner about him, yet at the same time I felt how serious he is about the actual surgery aspect. He is very detail oriented and as much pride in what he does.
Dr. Vaughn is also a trama surgeon at the Rockford Hospital, reservist in the airforce and is engaged to be married. I would highly recommend him to anyone after my first visit.
Dr.Vaughn is great. He is very personable. His knowledge of gastric bypass surgery is amazing. I hardly ever had a question to ask because he had answered them all. The office staff is nice and a good majority have went through the same procedure. I also met Dr. Boe and he seemed quite nice too. Dr. Vaughn truely cares about his patients and you are by NO means looked down upon because of weight issues. I would recommend him to anyone.
I loved him. He was very professional, middle aged and only did this type of surgery, which was at the Barix Clinic in Belvidere, IL.
Aftercare - You see him again 2 weeks, 1 month, 3 months and at 1 year.
I have had one consultation with Dr. Boe and found him to be forthright and friendly. He was both approachable and professional. The staff was also very helpful and answered all my questions to my complete satisfaction. The only negative part of the experience to date was the bad coffee!
I haven't met Dr. Vaughn, but switched because Of the surgery date available. I have every confidence that he will be fine.
Dr. Vaughan was awesome. He took the time to REALLY talk to us (my husband and I) He was intentive to our questions and answered thoroughly. He is NOT one of those doctors who has "one foot out the door" while he's talking to you. He pays attention to you and is just remarkable.
You can tell he is interested in YOU and your well-being. It's not about money or prestige. He's amazing. I was finally approved today for surgery. I can't wait to begin this journey and start a new chapter in my life!!
The staff at The Barix Clinic are very helpful and super nice. They answer all of your questions and make you feel very confortable.
1st Meeting w/ Dr. Vaughn, he was very knowledgeable, to the point, precise just and all around great guy! Can't say enough great things about him!
Dr. Vaughn is awesome. At first meeting, my husband and I were impressed at his knowledge, interest and desire to assist. When I was ready to be discharged, he was gone with the National Guard, so, Dr. Beu came in. Awesome coverage and assistance with the doctors. Barix has a wonderful follow-up program.
DR. VAUGHN WAS WOUNDERFUL WHEN I WENT THERE I HAD TWO PAGES OF QUEST. HE REQUESTED THAT I WAIT UNTILL HE WAS DONE TO ASK ANY. I HAD NONE AT THE END OF OUR 2 HOUR CONSULT. I WOULD RECOMMEND HIM TWO ANYONE. HIS STAFF WAS NICE AND VERY HELPFUL ALSO MANY HAD HAD THE SURGERY ALSO. DR.VAUGHN STRESSES THE IMPORTNANCE OF AFTERCARE, THEY ALSO HAVE A LIST OF LOCAL SUPPORT GROUPS. HE STRESSED THE RISK AND THE ADVANAGES OF SURGEY. I WOULD GIVE DR. VAUGHN **** STARS HANDS DOWN.
HIS SURGICAL COMPETENCE AND BEDSIDE MANNER ARE GREAT HE HELD MY HAND UNTIL I WAS KNOCKED OUT HOW MANY PHY. DO YOU KNOW WOULD DO THAT.
When I first met Dr. Vaughn, I was relieved. I was so scared to go to my first appointment and did not feel like I was a "person" at the clinic until Dr. Vaughn walked in. He was very professional, answered all my questions and put me at ease. I am glad I went. He told me flat out what I need to do after or I would be sick. my fate is in my hands.
I think he has to be the nicest person that I have meet in the medical field. He made me very comfortable and answered every question I had..most before I even asked them.
The day of the surgery he really calmed my nerves and made me very comfortable. He is always open to anything that I asked or said.
The whole staff at this hospital is amazing! I love the nurses. They are so caring and very helpful. If anyone wants to have this surgery I would tell them to make the drive and go here. Its over 4 hours one way for me. And I don't have one regret about picking a hospital far away.
