Eric Thoburn Bariatric Surgeon M.D., F.A.C.S.

Dr. Thoburn was very matter of fact. When you call his office, they will send you an information packet that is quite detailed. You will also get a book which answers so many questions, particularly to how his office handles things. In your first visit, you will visit with Dr. Thoburn, his nurse, the insurance coordinator and the nutritionist. Dr. Thoburn is pleasant but very to the fact. He's not going to do the surgery unless he knows you are committed to following the aftercare.

Dr. Thoburn is great. He is strictly professional. His office staff are well trained. The aftercare program is probably one of the reasons that I had NO trouble with the introduction of foods into my diet. I followed Dr. Thoburn's and the dietician's instructions implicity and have never had a problem.

They have an 18 months aftercare program. I think this is a real plus.

Bedside manner was the least of my interests. I wanted the best surgeon possible. I felt more than comfortable with my choice and feel that I got just that. A very gifted surgeon!

Very impressed by Dr. Thoburn. (I am a nurse and have had lots of dealings with doctors). He is extremely professional, matter of fact. Doesnt sugar coat anything-which is exactly the way it should be.

Dr. Thoburn really has a structured aftercare plan.

His staff is superb. So very pleased with them, especially LuAnn and Pam. LuAnn is your life line. She always calls back promptly and is truly a great person.
Pam, is the dietician for all of the doctors in the group. No nonsense type of person. But, from all I have heard, if you listen and take her advice you will be a happy camper!!

Well, am now 18 weeks out and have lost 70lbs. Dr. Thoburn's follow up care is super. I am so pleased that he is my doctor. Very caring and professsional and compassionate.

Today was my first visit. I like Dr. Thoburn very much. He got to the point no sugar coating it. I found him to be a honest people person. I beleive he cares about his patients health and success in getting healthy. He has a very structured program that has to be followed. His staff is very friendly and explains EVERY detail.
I really liked his dietician (Pam) august 11, this has all changed. his stsaff is the most rude people and not very good listeners. I am not happy with these people at all. If I didn't have money and time into this doctor I would be looking for a new one.

I met with Dr. Thoburn on the 22nd of June. He and his staff are very professional and I left the office feeling very positive and comfortable. Dr Thoburn addressed all my concerns and was pleased that I had done my homework. I had to see a psychiatrist to complete my paperwork to submit to the insurance carrier. He approved the surgery. Now onward to the insurance company. A prayer has been said and fingers are crossed.

EVERY ONE IN THE CLINIC WAS GEARED UP TO HELPING PEOPLE LIKE YOU AND ME . THEY SAVED MY LIFE ! ANYONE WHO DOES NOT SEEK THIS IS NOT IMFORMED . I HAVE MET 100S OF PEOPLE BEFORE AND AFTER . SEEN AND LIVED THE JOY OF LIFE AFTER . DO IT DO IT TODAY , NOW ,SOON . AND LIVE LIFE BETTER.

Have not met him yet, due to the fact that I was originally assigned to another surgeon in the group but feel confident that he is every bit as competent as his fellow surgeons.

This office covers all the bases! I met the insurance coordinator, Dr. Thoburn's nurse, Dr. Thoburn and the dietician. I am sure that I will be in competent hands with these folks. The surgery will be performed at North Florida Regional Medical Center in Gainesville. It is an hour and fifteen minute drive from Jacksonville but the quality of my care will be worth every minute of driving time.

I am scheduled to meet Dr.Thoburn for the 1st time May 25, 2001.I am excited and will update after my meeting with him.

5/4/01-I got in on a cancellation and got to go in today. I really like Dr Thoburn.I think my husband liked him too. Very much to the point and confident. Which is a plus for me since my life will be in his hands.I look forward to having him as my surgeon.
