My first impression about Dr. Yancey was his professionalism and how he explained the procedure to us. He is really an office of one and handled all of his patients himself. The young lady that signed us in was very pleasant. I feel he is a very dedicated surgeon and he explained that he had a team that dealt only with insurance claims so I am confident that my outcome wil be positive. His aftercare program is very structured and he is available to address any problems that my arise after surgery. He explained all of the risks of surgery from open incisions and the possibilities of developing hernias as well as other developments that may arise. I would rate him very satisfactory once I have my surgery. He seems to possess both surgical competence and bedside manner. I feel he could be very gentle and compassionate to his patients needs before, during and well after surgery. He said he would offer his service at least one year after surgery and I thought that was very good and also he's very supportive in the support groups before and after surgery for his patients. He actually attends all of the meetings. I think that is very supportive.

My first impression of him was that he was good at what he does, and he proved it by his presentation. his staff is well trained, well mannered. He stresses after care, he also heads a group sessions with his patience they meet once a month. this is part of his structured aftercare program. He is verry competent, his bedside manned is verry good. It was like I was with my Brother. We have become friends through all of this, and that makes me feel good. It sounds to good to be true, but this man is a good Dr., and I would recomend him to anyone who's thinking of having this surgery. When ever I needed him, he was ther for me no matter what time of day, and to prove this he gave me his home, and cell phone numbers.

After meeting with Dr. Yancey...I knew he was going to be my surgeon. I asked him so many question and he answered every one of them. He was honest and told me exactly what to expect after surgery and most of all what was expected of me. He is really nice and has a FANTASTIC SECRETARY!! She is so sweet and very patient. The only negative thing I can say about Dr. Yancey is that he is very slow in returning phone calls....but he makes up for it in every other area. Out of 1-10 I rate him a 10! I would recommend him to every one....trust me I went to 8 different doctors and none of them made me feel as comfortable about the surgery. I am really scared but excited at the same time. My surgery date is Sept. 6, 2005.

I actually have gone through the entire testing process. The surgeon's office hasn't applied for approval yet...been some delays with that and am switching surgeon's at the end due to a malpractice suit. Dr. Yancey came recommended to me and I have an appointment with him on July 20th. Can't wait! So excited. I've been on this journey since January and now I finally feel like I'm taking steps toward it happening.

I love Dr. Yancy. He always made me feel very comfortable around him. The only thing negative I can say about him is that recently he has gone out on his own and he currently doesn't have any staff so he is a bit forgetful when it comes to paperwork. He loves to joke around and a doctor with a sense of humor has always been important to me.

HE IS A VERY PERSONABLE DR WHO GENUINELY CARES ABOUT HIS PATIENTS, I FELT ETREMELY COMFORTABLE AND REASSURED. HE ANSWERED ALL QUESTIONS. I WOULD DEFINITELY SUGGEST HIM TO ANYONE LOOKING INTO THE SURGERY IN MY AREA!!

Dr Yancy when I first saw him back in June was Wow he looks young!!!!!but after my wife and I sat down with him and he started talking about how the surgery went my thoughts changed completely. He is so easy to talk to and answers any and all questions you have and he tells you stuff that you don't even think of. My wife is a RN and she knows alot of medical stuff and he answered all her questions also on a level that was so professional and then at the same time a person with no medical back ground could understand.

His office staff, well I can answer that in one word...."OUTSTANDING"......they are so nice and helpful it makes you feel great to talk to them. They go out of the way to help you get any and all information you need to get approved by your insurance company.

Dr. Yancy when he talks to you about the surgery he explains all the good points and of course the bad points also. He tells you that on the day of surgery if your temp is up or if anything is wrong he will not do it for your safety which I thought was great. The bed side manner he has and his partner are outstanding, Both Doctors in this practice are great I could not have asked for a better practice to have do my surgery. When I was growing up my father taught me you can tell alot about a person by their handsake, and Dr Yancy has a great handsake and that told me he was concerned about everyone who goes thru this surgery.

I had some complications in the surgery not on his part, my gall bladder was wrapped around my liver and it took longer to do my surgery instead of 1 hour it took almost 3 hours. My wife was very concered about this and when Dr. Yancy came out of surgery he went looking for my wife he even went outside of the building to look for her to let her know what was going on. During the surgery he had the Nurses in the OR call the waiting room to let her know what was going on, and that to me rates him on a scale from 1-10 in the 100 range. He is an awesome Doctor and I can highly recommend him or his practice to anyone and I have done so to several people I have worked with.

wonderful.the most kindness man i have could have asked for.my impressions didn't change at all and i don't expext them to. the office staff is great, very helpful and is there for all my questions night and day.i felt very safe with him doing my surgery. he explained all the do's and don't and he explained everything that he did and was going to do. i had no questions nor concerns the day of my surgery.and at my follow up visits i leave the office well taken care of and all my questions are answered, most off all i'm not rushed threw a visit the staff keeps me as long as i have the need and i don't leave until all is said and done. i would not change a thing about anything.

I adored him. Professional, charming, sense of humor. Only surgeon I know with a great bedside manner.
It got better.

The best. Always there when you need them or when you have a problem.

Nothing

That he's a wonderful doctor and you will wish you had done this sooner.

This is the most important part of the surgery. They have a med assistant whose only job is to work with the gastric bypass patients.
Yes and I also attend a weekly support group with other patients.

He was very direct and truthful. There are risks. It your choice to make, so ask all the questions you want . I would give him 5 stars.. I would recommend him to anyone, family, friends. I think beside manner is almost as important as surgical competence. My only problem with my experience was that I developed an infection in my wound and it had to be reopened and cleansed twice after surgery but I do not think that this was due to anything that my surgeon did or didn't do. The actual surgery was a breeze compared to two other surgeries I have had in the last 35 years.
