I slept all night, in the morning the doctor Huacuz took me and two more patients to do the fluoroscopy. One patient was for a fill, so we had the opportunity to see how that being done is. We were free to go home, but I stayed one more night. I wanted to see Tijuana, went shopping with my husband, came back to my room at the Clinic, took a nap and went again for a walk and to the beautiful restaurant for dinner. I smelled the food while my husband was eating. All that in less than 24 hours from my surgery. Never though it is possible.

The clinic was very nice and clean. I felt like I am at the hotel because you are able to go out for a walk and came back whenever you feel like it and all the time there is a nurse on duty and a doctor.

Next morning after getting all the information, papers and medicine from the doctor, the driver gave us a ride back to San Diego.

What a experience! We did get phone numbers, even cell number from the doctor, for any question we might have.

My recovery was quick. I used pain medicine only for two days. I did have gases which is normal after surgery, but did not need to call doctor for any reason. I would get tired during the day after surgery. Short nap afternoon took care of that.

I did my lap-band on March 8th. 2012 Since then I lost 91 pounds. I do weigh myself every week and noticed that one week I will not lose any weight but next week about 5 pounds. But I do know that is normal and I just stick with my eating plan, which is easy to follow. I am not hungry or feel lack of energy. In contrary, I feel great. I am able to go up and down the stairs without pain in my legs for first time in 10 years. I did made a change in my life but it was so easy, without any extra effort. Everything came so normal, I just feel like a new person. I do walk in the morning and afternoon and that makes me very happy. Everything I do is easier now and I am looking forward to go and do some fills in a month or two, because I do want to lose all extra weight I have been caring for over 15 years. I do realize that it is a process and it will take time but I do believe this time is going to be permanent.

I cannot thank enough to everyone at Certified Bariatric Surgeons.

I would recommend to anyone Dr Huacuz and his experienced team. If you are out there and struggle with weight issues, this is the right place and excellent group of professionals who can help you solve your problem.

On October 16th, 2011, I came to Tijuana from Portland, Or to have Dr Huacuz remove most of my stomach via a vertical sleeve gastrectomy. I was 21 years old and found myself weighing 360 pounds. I couldn’t dress well; I couldn’t participate in many of the activities my friends liked. I couldn’t even climb the stairs at home without getting winded. My surgery went smoothly, the doctors and nurses were friendly and eager to answer questions and my stay in Tijuana was as pleasant as it could be considering that I had major surgery.
Once I was home, I started the long process of re-learning what I could and could not eat. It wasn’t hard but I did find that there were a lot of foods that I had to give up (at least at first). It was worth it though! Now, almost a year later, I have lost 120 pounds. I have choices when it comes to what clothes I wear and what kind of activities I take part in. I don’t feel deprived because now I am able to lead the normal young adult life and even do things like go for a jog with my sisters. It was the best choice I have ever made!
During this time I have received many follow up calls from Dr. Huacuz Office to keep track of my weight improvement and I like to share my experience after almost a year and a half with patients who suffer the obesity problem like I did so I think my surgeon will be the best choice for you to fight against this big problem if you have any questions about the surgeons please feel free to contact me.

FIRST OF ALL !!! Dr. Daniel Huacuz is a great surgeon, TOTAL LOSS ! 100 lbs.. I have had 6 years of success with him and will continue to have more now that I realize that I am the problem not the doctor, ALL OF US THAT HAVE EATING DISORDERS MAY WANT TO TAKE A REAL LOOK AT that issue. He is a man with honor every time I have gone there it has been a wonderful experience !! He has integrity, care, passion so does his staff. But we have to do the work !! I had lost a total of 100 lbs since I began my journey with the Lap Band with no complications at ALL do to Dr Haucuz since 2006 until 2012 .. I got my fill's as I was told too and I eat what was supposed too, and I did the deal and I lost the weight. I although never dealt with the real issue which was. why ??? was I eating to began with and for that reason I began to fall I only worked on the outside not the inside .. I began to eat the foods that I knew better then too and I began to dislodge my lap band and it collapsed !! As you all are aware of there are a lot of insurance Companies and US Doctors in the Untied States that no longer do the lap band because of various reasons but most of all because we can't follow direction's and we are unwilling to take a real look at the things that have caused us to eat in the first place !!!!! we blame and look for excuses why it doesn't work. I just had my revesion done 1/3/2013......
I feel great I got the sleeve, I have lost 7 lbs in 6 days and I am up and moving and yes DR.HUACUZ did my surgery.
I feel great I got the sleeve, I have lost 7 lbs in 6 days and I am up and moving and yes DR.HUACUZ did my surgery and he also assisted with my plastic surgery's as well years ago and I look better then most people I have seen that had Plastic surgery in the United States and I live close to some real expensive surgeons.. NEWPORT BEACH, BEVERLY HILLS, so I don't know what you got ??? but I know what I have experienced first hand If you look in any doctors file or any business you find ether someone who wasn't happy or has a different opinion on what a surgeon has done !! So I all know is I am excited to get back on the road of recovery inside as well as out.. A lot of people can say mean and cruel things but unless you know the full facts, then I would not trust the internet !!! Because it is big business down there and sometimes even though your a real person and a great loving DOCTOR your still swimming with sharks. LETS FACE IT PEOPLE THIS IS BIG BUSINESS to get your money, any where including here in U.S. .. I have more to say about this whole process and if you want to talk to me about Dr. Huacuz I will talk with you. I stand by him as he has stood by me. He has for ever changed my life I was 325 lbs of misery and now I'm not !! But I had to do the work !!! and as far as the problems with the clinic he was over seeing well lots of clinics's do wrong and lots of doctors get blamed for it.. This is surgery there is a chance of things going wrong any where. REALLY TAKE A LOOK AT WHY YOUR HAVING THIS SURGERY BECAUSE ALL THINGS FAIL IF NOT DONE FOR THE RIGHT REASON !!!!
We must be willing to do the work once the surgery is done or it will fail. This is not magic you gotta have the willingness..

Dr Huacuz is an excellent bariatric surgeon with extensive experience in Gastric Sleeve Surgery. who helped me and several of my friends to control obesity.
I know people who have followed his instructions to the letter e have been successful with the gastric sleeve surgery, because surgery is not everything we must also take care to eat, avoid chocolates, honey etc.
and this is the cause not continue to lose weight after a surgery like this independent mind that is done by the best surgeon in the world if we continue with these bad habits that would ruin any surgery that we have

I have but ONE question.......If you are a person who would be so EXCITED and THRILLED to take 8000.00 dollars of your HARD earned money pile it up ..set fire to it and watch it burn and enjoy EVER minute...Then I have JUST the doctor to recommend to you....He practices in Tijuania, Mexico....Write me for further information........I know this sounds absolutely CRAZY but this is exactly what has happened to me and a friend....40 pounds of weight lose the first 3 months then nothing else.....Just went to a doctor in Shreveport, La and had a scope to find out.. A very SMALL portion of my stomach was removed in April 2010 in Tijuania, Mexico by Dr.Daniel Huacuz...Hardly any restriction and no more weight lose since July 2010 and gained about 10lbs back....If insurance will approve a revision I will be paying MORE money to have this Dr.Daniel Huacuz MESS up fixed....I have ALL photos and legal papers to back this up.. I do hope my HARD -earned money was spent well..

Dr. Huacuz, Tijuana, MX 8/14/018. He is very nice and very smart. Office staff were great and willing to do anything for me. The nurses all spoke spanish , but the main office person spoke english. Not much of an after care program , just gave me the basics. His surgical competence and bedside manor were great. I had very little pain and no complications. I could have gone to work in 6 to 7 days.

This is actually my third time being operated on by Dr Huacuz. Once in April of 04 for the LapBand, then July of 04 for gallbladder removal. My LapBand slipped and had to be removed in Dec of 07 and I packed on 50 pounds. Sooo I went back to Mexico and back to quite possibly the best surgeon on earth Dr Huacuz (atleast i think so lol) and had a revision from lapband to VSG Feb 06th 2008. Looove it love it love it! Dr Huacuz is awesome and his staff is pretty great too, especially my little nurse \"Sefe\".

My name is Nichelle Renaud. I'm 30 years old and am from Kansas City, MO. I had the lap band surgery December 6, 2007. I've lost 99 pounds, and it's one year and a half.

I originally heard about lap band surgery in Mexico from a CNN segment about a teenager with obesity. She had been turned down by her insurance company for not being "big enough." She elected to go to Mexico for the surgery and it saved her life. I saw a glimpse into what could be my future if I didn't make the decision myself. I didn't want to be told that my insurance company didn't think I was "big enough." By then, it would be too late.

I started researching lap band surgery in Mexico through the Internet. I was going to make a decision between Dr. Huacuz and another potential doctor in Monterrey. Norma did more than just reply by e-mail. She actually called me and answered all of my questions. I was given, and encouraged to use, the doctor's personal cell phone number. This was strange for me, because in the United States, you have to leave a message to the nurse, who then talks to the doctor, who then tells the nurse what to tell you, who then calls you back when they feel like it. I felt like I was talking to a friends. So when I made the decision to have my surgery in Tijuana, I felt like I was going to see friends.

They sent me a picture of their driver Victor just days before my surgery. He picked my mother and I at the San Diego airport as scheduled. Once we arrived in Tijuana, everything was ready for us. Everyone was professional. The nurses, the Psychologist Louise Mattos, and Dr. Gallegos. The anesthesiologist even came to speak to me before surgery. The surgery itself was not long at all. I was getting up with some help the same night to use the restroom on my own. I even walked around my room to pass the time.

Dr. Huacuz was a perfect gentleman and made me feel beautiful every time he spoke to me. His staff took well care of my mother by making sure she was comfortable throughout our stay. Thank you all for everything!

I have no problems making myself available to anyone with their own questions. My e-mail address is: [email protected] .
