Surgeon was skilled and competent, Mayo Clinic is not very good at coordination of services. rnI succeeded at weight loss due to the technical skill of the surgeon, not her bedside manner, not the aftercare, patient care or knowledge of the nursing staff, I had to struggle through everything.rnMy last blood tests were done in March, my endochoinologist Dr. Abu-Lebdeh is refusing to do labs even though I am told my thyroid level is low. rnWould I do this again? Yes.rnWould I make other more assertive choices? Yes, but I doubt that it would make much difference in the Mayo beaurocracy....

Dr Que is an amazing woman. She is strict about who her patients are...wants to be sure you are ready for what you are getting yourself into. Not to mention that you cant go wrong with the Mayo Clinic. If an issue comes up and you need another specialist, you either go to that department, or one is sent to you in your hospital room.

The one thing I can say, is that the day of surgery I think I saw her for about two seconds, right before they knocked me out..she waved at me from the corner of the operating room and that was it. From then on it was her team of associates. Aftercare is extremely important. As well as addressing all the risks. She is extremely talented I was able to have my surgery done laproscopically, so healing time was minimized...it was great. I would send anyone to her, she knows her stuff. So does her team.

Dr. Que is a unique person. I have worked with her for over 6 years and I had a good relationship with her. She is to the point type person and she will tell you like it is as a matter of speaking. If you ever have any questions don't be afraid to ask, she is happy to answer all. I feel that Dr. Que is quite personable once you get to know her. She also has really nice staff working with her. The least thing I liked about Dr. Que is that I would wish she would stick around more when visiting with her patient. Another thing that I liked about Dr. Que is that she believes that the steps of this long journey for bariatric surgery are very important and that the patient need the appropiate guidence in changing his/her lifestyle.

I thought Dr. Que was great. She outlined what was going to help me be successful and was extreemely knowledgable about my health history.

Dr. Que was a little scary the first time I saw her. She was pretty intense about the changes she wanted me to make before the surgery. By the second appointment, I was on track with exercise and doing better with food so she wasn't so tough on me. I think Mayo Clinic is the best place for medical help and have complete faith in Dr. Que and the hospital. If this surgery can be successful anywhere, it will be in Rochester.

My first meeting with Dr. Que was quick and to the point. She was very nice and I felt very comfortable. She is very interested in a patients exercise program.

My first impression was oh my this lady is very to the point and made me feel like I was just a number...but as I talked with her and her staff i started to feel better about them.

After surgary I seen her once the next day and then did not see her again I only seen one of asst. the whole time i was in the hospital.....Dr. Griggs was the best he was verying caring and checked in on me 3 times a day.

Dr. Que is to the point and will tell you how it is even if you dont want to hear it....She is a very soft spoken woman who knows her job very well.

My first impression of her was that, she was very straight to the point, she kind of put me on the defensive. But as we talked I started to realized that what she had said that put me on the defense was an area I've never felt anyone should get down on me about. the office staff has been great so far. Will update more later in the month have another appt 4-23-03.

I met with my surgeon on Wed. it went a little better than the first time. I have lost about 10-15 lbs since I started on my journey. I have to see her again in a month. I've started a swimming program because of some feet problems, makes it alot easier on the joints. I'm in a behavior modification program, which the farther I get into it , I can see why it is recommended.

My first visit was on March 10th, 2003 with Dr. Que. She was very business-like. She first determines if you would be a good candidate for gastric bypass surgery, before she will even discuss the choices of procedures with you.She then discusses what type of procedure that she thinks would be best for you, based on your past surgeries and health conditions. In my case since my BMI was 43% and I had only had an appendectomy, she said I would be a possible candidate for Laparoscopic RNY.She states I "need to continue to lose weight." She has a physician's assistant, Stacey Enstad, who does a thorough explanation of the procedures, risks and benefits. Dr. Que's other residents take down other info. such as current meds, health history, etc.On May 5th,2003 my 2nd surg. consultation after my insurance approval, Dr. Que was even more cordial and had scheduled my surgery for June 4th, 2003 at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester, MN. Again after drawing out my procedure to be performed and other details, she told me to "not to gain any weight between now and surg date." The rest of the team got further info from me and gave me more info about the night before surg and the day of surg as what to expect.Carol is Dr. Que's secretary, she is excellent in getting any of your questions answered. Contact her if any problems or concerns.

My first impression was a good one because she was willing to see me after they had reschud. and did not let me know until I went to check in. She was really straight to the point and explained the risk and what she thought might happen. She is also very concerned and cautious. Which is good she plans to see me mo0nthly to keep an eye on the BS. I will let You know more when I see her again. Rhonda 4/25/03
