Flo Qua Bariatric Surgeon M.D.

Dr. Que is my surgeon. She is a general surgeon at Mayo Clinic. I have only met her once and I liked her immediately. She is a very matter-a-fact type doctor. She had very direct questions for me and waited til she was satisfied with my answers to her questions before she said whether she thought I would be a good candidate for surgery. She made me feel confident that I was doing the right thing and I look forward to working with her. The one thing she told me I have to do before surgery is to get walking. I have to walk for atleast 30 minutes a day for atleast 5 out of 7 days. I was already doing the LEARN program at Mayo which is a pre-requisite for even getting to see a surgeon. There will be a group that I have to attend after surgery.

Met with Dr. Que and associates, for inital consult. She went over everything the previous doctors had discussed, and made sure that I understood the procedure, and that Gastric Bypass is only a tool to lose weight. She stressed that I diet and excerise. I thought she was very professional with no BS.

Meet her for the first time on Jan. 15, just an introductory. Will meet her again in 2 months after insurance acceptance to set date. Seemed knowledgeable and intrested. Answered questions.

The first time I met Dr. Que it was very quick but she agreed to do the surgery. Every visit after that she grew more friendly. I mostly worked with one of her residents who was FANTASTIC! His name was Dr. Teh. She was very upfront with every aspect of the surgery and I appreciated that. Dr. Que isn't here to be your friend, she is here to get the job done and help you succeed. If you want someone to hold your hand, this is not the doctor for you. If you want someone to push you along and expect great things from you this is a good fit. It was a GREAT fit for me and I wold highly reccomend Dr. Que!

First impression was not a good one. Her told me if I gained one more lb. before surgery in twwo months she would not operate. Over time I realized that she was checking my will power and it was to both of your good. Her staff is great, very corncerned about you. I can't think for anything that I didn't like about them after getting to know them. Dr Que and her staff is a top notch team. They don't beat around the bush about stuff. Her and her staff keep very good after care checks up. Every month for the first 3 months and every 3 months after that. She told me of the risks and that I was fairly high on the risk. Most of the time things go well but not all the time. I would rate her as one of the best in the world. I don't think you can work at Mayo Clinic and be bad. Her surgical is the best. Her bed side manners are very good to but you do things her way or no way. She know what will be the best for you whether you thinks so or not. and she is concerned about your health and her reputation. I beleve that if she was not my surguen I would not be alive today, because of complations.

I haven't met her yet I do have a consult with her on Aug 13th. I believe her name is spelled Dr. Que also but I don't know how to fix it on this site. Well I met my surgeon. She is very tough on her patients. Be prepared when you go see her. I saw her again on 9/13/01 she was very nice and gave me a quick run through on risks,the surgery and things like that. and gave me my date right there.She answered all my Questions and made me fell that all would be fine.
