POST OPERATIVE 2/9/2000
IT HAS BEEN TWO WEEKS SINCE MY SURGERY. THE FIRST 4 DAYS WERE THE WORST. I HAVE A TUMMY TUCK AT THE SAME TIME OF THE RNY SURGERY, SO THE SCAR IS KIND OF LIKE A CESEARIAN , BUT IT IS MUCH LONGER AND RUN ABOUT 1 INCH BEHIND THE LEFT HIP TO 1 INCH BEHIND THE RIGHT HIP. . THEY CUT OFF 12 POUNDS IN THE TUMMY TUCK. AFTER I WEEK I LOST 8 MORE POUNDS. AFTER THE SECOND WEEK I LOST ANOTHER 10 POUNDS. SO ALTOGETHER IN 2 WEEKS I LOST 30 POUNDS. I HAVE ANOTHER APPOINTMENT IN 2 WEEK AND EXPEXT TO HAVE LOST AT LEAST ANOTHER 10 POINTS.
DR LEE & DR IGWE WERE REALLY GREAT. THEY CHECKED IN ON ME EVERY DAY EVEN THOUGHT I WAS AT A HOSPITAL THAT WAS NOT THEIR REGULAR HOSPITAL. ALL THE RUDENESS FROM PRE-OP IS COMPLETELY GONE AND SO THAT MAKES THINGS A LOT EASIER.
I RETURNED TO WORK EXACTLY 2 WEEKS AFTER SURGERY. I HAVE DISCOMFORT SITTING STRAIGHT UP FOR LONG PERIODS, BUT IT WILL GET BETTER OVER TIME. I DO EXPERIENCE FATIGUE AND MEMORY LOSS, THEY SAY THE MEMORY LOSS WILL EAR OFF AFTER ABOUT 1 MONTH AND IT IS BECAUSE OF THE ANESTHESIA. THE FATIGUE WILL GET BETTER AS I LOSE WEIGHT AND AM ABLE TO EAT MORE.

MET WITH DR. IGWE - HE WAS QUITE RUDE BEGIN WITH.....BUT SINCE THE SURGERY WE HAVE BECOME GOOD FRIENDS AND HE HAS BEEN REALLY WONDERFUL.
MET WITH GOERGIA AND SHE IS CHANGING MY EXPERIENCE. FRONT OFFICE WAS RUDE AND UNHELPFUL, BUT PHONE PEOPLE WERE GREAT

SURGICAL COMPETENCE
I liked all the Dr's I came in contact with at the Center for surgical treatment of obesity, My impressions have not changed. The office staff was busy but very polite and helpful. I liked least, the fact that they were very busy, so you didn't always see the same Dr. I think that you should know that you may not see the same Dr, even when you are in the hospital, however they all had the same training and have your best interest at heart. The center stresses the aftercare and the need to attend support meetings, as this is a lifelong change. I was well informed of the risks of surgery before hand and they make it a point to go over all the possibilities. I would rate the Center as excellent. I felt very welcomed there. Dr Lee and his associates (Dr Fobi) made a good impression on me, they seemed caring and understood the discomfort that is experienced after surgery. I found them to be easy to talk to and eager to answer any questions you might have.
My first impression of him was the kindest man i've talk to that was a doctor. He answered all my questions. Didn't rush me off the phone. Sounded like he cared and was interested in me as a person. I can't wait to meet him in person.
