Dr. Burhop is wonderful and his office staff rocks!

I am a patient of Dr. Burhop. I have loved his staff and they have walked me through the entire process while being very helpful with everything. They have made sure that this process was as smooth and comfortable for me as possible. I have only met Dr. Burhop once for a consultation so hopefully I'll be able to provide more feedback about him after my presurgery consult.

I have heard only great things about Dr. Burhop. He did the surgeries of several of my co-workers and they all speak very highly of him. I am glad that his process is so completely thorough. I have some co-workers who went to the drs that just got an insurance approval, did their surgery and sent them on their way. I am happy to have a team concerned about the big picture-before, during and after.rnrnPost-op-Dr. Burhop has proven all the things I heard about him are true-he is one of those kind caring docs and I feel like i am in good hands w/ him.

I met my surgeon in the ER room of West Allis Hospital where he treated me for a blood clot in my leg. He impressed me as very professional, very thorough, matter of fact, and to the point. He didn't smile much, still doesn't, but his professionalsim makes up for that. I saw him for this clot for over a year because of follow-up. He also does a doppler study test for my husband every year for his carotid artery to make sure he doesn't get a stroke or heart attack.rnHis office staff at the Bariatric Institute of WI in Brookfield is very approachable, friendly and knowledgeable. But his nurses are his best features. Kind, warm, genuinely caring. Understanding and comforting if you're not doing well, always there to lift your spirits when you need to \"just talk\".rnHe did a lap band for me in 2005 and was like I knew he would be, very professional! Pre-Op and Post-Op care are extremely important issues with him. No stone is left unturned before he starts the surgery, and any concerns you have after the surgery are addressed immediately. As far as the Lap Band not working for me, he and his nurses were genuinely concerned for me and my feelings, explaining very thoroughly several reasons why it may not have worked in my case.rnFollowing the removal he stressed that I needed at minimum, 6 months of healing time before he would do a Revision. When talking about the Revision, he was quick to point out the possible risks and complications.Explaining in great detail what could possibly happen. Even asking me several times if I was certain I knew and understood everything about it. He advised seeing my nutritionist and speaking with her regarding my diet as well as talk to with my husband and daughter before making this decision. I am lucky in that my family fully supports my decision because they have known from the beginning that this is not a vanity issue, but strictly an issue of HEALTH and the quality of it. Just looking good never entered into my decision making.rnTo me, a physician's surgical competence is first and foremost ! I can help him to work on his bedside manner. I know I can, I've actually gotten him to smile and laugh several times. At our last appointment I gave him a good bye hug and he smiled and said how nice it was to have a patient do that.

I just had my RNY last week (11-7-07). I am also an RN so I can tell you that I researched this long and hard. I am completely satisfied with Dr. Burhops' care for me before and during my surgical stay. He is very kind and compassionate! The night of my sugery I heard the hospital page him until 3AM, so I knew he was still in the hospital working. I wasnt expecting to see him for morning rounds, but there he was, making sure I was okay and asking me if I needed anything. Dr Burhop is a very, very good Doctor and I would go to him again in a heartbeat.

I met Dr Burhop the last time I went thru the process of getting approved and he was great! He was willing to explain and answer any questions I had. I go to see him this week and expect more of the same. I ran into him at a support group type meeting and he was great once again. I know my surgery will go well with this very caring and experienced doctor. I will update this after my surgery is over and I had a chance to experience his bedside manner. rn07/31/2007rnWell I had my surgery I was very happy with my doctor. He did a great job because in his words mine was a very difficult surgery because of a hernia and some scar tissue. My surgery took 4 1/2 hours where they usually take 2 1/2 to 3 hours, but overall again I was very happy with the surgeon in fact I am recommending him to my son...rn09/29/2007rnI have gone to see Dr Burhop again, and again I love him, he answers all my questions and I am happy when I leave his office because I had my problems addressed. I will always recommend him.

Met with Dr. Burhop on October 25, 2005. His office was warm and inviting. He seemed to be soft spoken and somewhat on the reserved side. He does have a nice smile! He is very knowledgable on the procedures he performs. Explained thoroughly the different options of WLS. I am the biggest weenie of a patient you would ever want to meet. (I did let him know that, and he is seemed to be okay with it) However, when he did explain the risks and benefits, I was put to ease. He really reassured me about the outcome of WLS. I know this is the best choice for me. Dr. Burhop made me feel my decision to have surgery was the right one. I left there with all the info I needed. I would recommend him to anyone who is considering surgery and wants a consult. After my consult, I will definitely have Dr. Burhop perform my procedure. His office staff is very warm and friendly too. Again, this is just my opinion of my experience.

My impression of Doctor Burhop is he is very professional and honest. He really cares about his patients. He explains the surgery and what the outcomes should be. Dr. Burhop and his staff were very helpfull and friendly.

Dr. Burhop is highly recommended. He has a good personality and always took whatever time I needed to answer all my questions both pre and post op.
